You don’t just stay at Phum Baitang, you partake of a visceral experience that embodies all the senses and transports you back to a true Cambodian village atmosphere; one that is devoid of the noise and frenetic pace of the “Khet” Siem Reap. The feel of this burgeoning province, which can so quickly engulf the avid tourist, is left far behind as you cocoon yourself into the tranquil confines of an oasis like no other in Cambodia. Under-stated luxury beckons guests to unwind and completely recharge after a long day exploring the famous temples of the UNESCO heritage site of Angkor, the principle draw card for many savvy tourists from around the globe. Phum Baitang, “The Green Village” is simplicity with an eye on detail. It has to be experienced and not just read about. The property is comprised of 45 private villas designed to resemble Cambodian houses that are set amongst swaying plantations of verdant lemon-grass. There are two locally-inspired first class restaurants that proffer delicious meal choices that go far beyond the norm for what is considered typical Khmer cuisine. Bay Phsar, “Rice Market” and Hang Bay, “Rice Shop” both serve delicious meals using fresh organic herbs and vegetables from the resort’s own gardens. At the cigar & cocktail lounge one can delight in the pleasure of sipping a location- inspired cocktail while watching the sun slowly set behind the property’s magnificent 50m infinity pool. Phum Baitang is the embodiment of the ideal luxury travel destination that we all dream about. Whether young or old, a family or a couple, recent honeymooners embarking on a new life together or a single adventure-seeking traveler, this Cambodian village experience has something to offer all ages. Maybe it is an authentic cookery class for two, or perhaps an afternoon where the children can explore Cambodian culture through interactive games and puzzles, the resort has a plethora of wonderful activities to enrich the mind and engage the senses. For those seeking the relaxing ambiance of a first class wellness center, the Temple Spa truly is a sanctuary within this resort oasis. Seven spa treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, relaxation area as well as a yoga pavilion are all on offer. Therapies based on traditional Khmer rituals or massage techniques such as Tibetan, Swedish or Ayurvedic can all be performed by highly trained therapists. This ultimate luxury retreat nestled peacefully just a short drive from Siem Reaps’ international airport is bound to become one of the premier hotel destinations in Cambodia. As Leonardo da Vinci so aptly said six centuries ago, “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. This adage is reflected in all of the architectural and interior design details of Phum Baitang and certainly underpins this new development from Zannier Hotels.

This is without doubt now one of my favourite hotels. A hidden gem for sure. The style was rustic chic, with well appointed villas. Spectacular paddy field views, with their own buffalos. We loved the whole atmosphere, restful and charming. The food was the best we have had so

This was our first hotel stay in Cambodia and boy what a way to start. Our accommodation was just fabulous. We loved the way that the 'paddy fields' were growing in the grounds and the water buffalo hanging around. Beautiful hotel, beautiful gardens and grounds, staff that

I spent 4 nights in February (25/02 to 01/03) in a pool villa. The hotel environment is nice although many villas have views obstructed by walls not far away. The villas as such are very nice and comfortable. The hotel has 2 restaurants but only 1 open for dinner during our stay,

Dear Nicholas T, I thank you for the praise to our Resort and I am glad that like many other, you have been able to appreciate the environment of Phum Baitang, “The Green Village” which lays in 8 acres of land, surrounded by a less than two meters high wall to protect our guests privacy. From the Breakfast area or the Pool I am sure you have been able to see what is behind those walls. We do open our restaurant in alternate days, but we do offer the menu of both Restaurant upon request, with a full menu and variety for each of them, catering for any palate from vegetarian to vegan, from mediterrean to asian, I am sorry you have not find your favorite dish, but I am sure if you would have asked we would have been please to offer it. I am not sure what you mean with management not present, we do have myself as General Manager and the Food and Beverage Manager coming from Europe, while the rest of the staff is Asian, mostly local. As such it is quite unlikely that every manager is not on duty, in the same way, I spend 75% of my day, since breakfast mingling with guests, unfortunately it does happen that for a reason or another I miss few of them, and I am sorry this was your case, definitely it would be impossible for me to ignore non Italian guests, as we have an average of one/two rooms a month from my nation of origin. I hope you would be able to give us another chance and please contact me directly at gm@phumbaitang.com so that I will do my upmost to see that this time you will have the perfect experience. Yours sincerely, Giulio D' Alberto General Manager

It takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes by Tuk Tuk or car. You could walk it however at night it would not be advisable as the road is quite dark with limited lighting. Kind regards, Colin Bryan General Manager

Dear Talha K, Thank you for your question. Yes your rooming request is possible. (2 plus 2 is the standard setup). I would propose king size bed for you and your husband, extra bed and use of the sofa bed for your children aged 5 and 6 and we could perhaps even add a cot for your 1 year old or, as you suggest, the child could sleep with you. We have a fully manned children's club with lots of activities for children. We can also provide babysitting for your children should you require this service. Should you have any further questions we are only too happy to assist. Kind regards, Colin Bryan Resort Manager

Thank you for your question. Living here in Siem Reap and working at Phum Baitang I think all year round is a good time to visit Cambodia and in particular Siem Reap but then I may be a little biased. Let me address your question by splitting the year into months in quarters…….. The best time to visit Siem Reap is January for most people as this is one of the coolest months of the year and it is also dry season. During January the skies are clear most days so it perfect for sunrises and sunsets. February, like January is probably the busiest month of the year in Siem Reap as it is high season. The weather in Siem Reap during February is near perfect as the climate is cool, the skies are blue and the sunrises and sunsets are amazing most days. Of course, because it is high season, there are many tourists at this time of year at the Angkor temples. The weather in March is very pleasant and I would recommend March as one of the best times of year to visit Cambodia. The climate in Siem Reap is quite cool most days. The weather in April can be very hot and humid with the climate a bit unpleasant at times. However, April is a good time to visit the Angkor temples as it is generally much quieter during this time of year. The Khmer New Year also falls in this month if you would like to join in some New Year celebrations. May is a good month to visit Siem Reap as it is much quieter than most other months. The climate in May is quite warm but with a bit of careful planning you can have a really good time. May is also the beginning of the rainy season but there is normally little rain during this time of year and when it does rain it is normally in the late afternoons or early mornings. May is the start of the rice planting season in Cambodia but at Phum Baitang we plant and harvest rice all year round. June in Siem Reap is quite warm and the rainy season has started in earnest. Even though June is part of the rainy season it is a good time to visit Siem Reap. The weather is not very hot as the few showers Siem Reap get generally cool the air to make it a more pleasant climate. June is also a great time to visit Siem Reap as the Angkor temples see fewer visitors at this time of year. One of the best times of year to visit Siem Reap is July as the weather is not very hot and the rain is normally in the evenings or during the night. July is a popular month for visiting Siem Reap for many families as this is a time when many schools are on holiday. Another good time to visit Cambodia is during the month of August. The weather is not very hot and the rainy season is not fully upon us but the landscapes are starting to look very green. August is a good month to visit the Angkor temples if you want to keep away from the big crowds of high season. There is more rain in August than there is in July but the rain is normally during the night or late afternoons. September is one of the wettest months in Cambodia but do not let it put you are off visiting Siem Reap. During September the vegetation is lush and green and the Angkor temples are so peaceful. October is cool and wet with day temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees celsius. October is one of the wettest months of the year so a light rain coat is advised, because it can rain at anytime, although it normally starts around 4pm. Strong trainer type shoes with a good grip are also recommended for climbing the temples as the stone is often wet and slippery. October is one of the nicest months of the year for scenery especially if you are interested in photography, as this is when the countryside is lush and green with rice fields stretching for miles. The weather in Siem Reap during November is very pleasant as the rains have almost stopped the blue skies are starting to appear and the weather is cooler. One of the best times to visit Siem Reap is during November as the weather is almost perfect and the sunrises and sunsets are generally pretty good. November is still the start of the high season so the Angkor temples are not busy like January and February. November is normally the month that the Cambodian Water festival is held where you will see boat races in Siem Reap. The best time to visit Cambodia is early to mid December as everything is perfect. The weather in Siem Reap is cool and dry with blue skies. The sunrises and sunsets during December are normally very good every day there are not so many tourists around the Angkor temples. Kind regards Colin Bryan Resort Manager Phum Baitang

Do you have a room for a family with 3 teenagers (11, 14, 15)? Or will we need two separate rooms?
Dear Helen B, Thank you for your question. Our usual maximum setup per villa is 2 plus 2. Two adults and two children however it really depends on the age of the children. We do have a few dedicated twin villas to which a third bed can be added. A king bed villa can also be split into what we refer to as a "Hollywood twin" and then a third bed can also be added. In both scenarios the forth person could be accommodated on the sofa, which can also be transformed into a comfortable bed. For a husband and wife with three teenage children I would propose a Pool Villa for the parents and a Terrace Villa with twin set-up plus an additional bed, for the teenagers. For advice on your specific sleeping requirements or arrangements please do not hesitate to contact our reservations department via email. Contact details are provided via our website. Kind regards Colin Bryan Resort Manager

are the villas 1 room with a bathroom? or is the living room separate from the bedroom?
The living room and bedroom are one space with the bathroom separate. Terrace villas have an outside covered terrace with cushioned seating / table with chairs / shade blinds / ceiling fans. Pool Villas have an outside covered sala with blinds / table with chairs and sun loungers with umbrella.
