Hotel is in a good spot not far from the main square price was reasonable 60,000 chilean pesos no surcharge for foreigners same price for all ...comfortable clean staff very friendly and helpful restaurant not up to standard and breakfast service a bit hit and miss all kitchen staff are very young felt not really interested in giving a good...

Just spent the night here after a spectacular stay at in a Yurt in Torres Del Paine so the Hotel Isla Rey Jorge was a bit of a come down. But it's a very nice place with some old fashioned charm. Positive: central location, helpful stuff. Negative: disgusting (as for me, hardly bearable) smell of an old house in the lobby and in the room, old furniture, dusty artificial flowers, dirty carpets. For the money you pay them there are much nicer places here.

This is a really nice hotel in a convenient part of Punta Arenas. I see other reviewers found it noisy - perhaps we were lucky, but our top floor room faced the back, looking over Punta Arenas sound and the waiting cruise ships, and we slept very well. I stayed here for 3 nights before and after flying to Antarctica. It is central and comfortable, but very noisy. The first night I faced the parking lot next door.
