The Hotel like most reviews had mentioned stands on a busy street. We were there on a 6days family trip; stayed in Meritus for 2 nights. Criteria for the agency is to choose hotels that have modern facilities and have wifi in the room. Comparing to hotels we stayed in the rest of the trip i.e. Chaozhou city, this is...

I stayed 3 nights on business, and my biggest complaint is the incredibly hard bed. The restaurant in the lobby had the incredibly slow ala carte dinner service - sometimes a colleague would only get their food after the rest of us had eaten. The food was inconsistent too. Free wifi that is easy to access. If it was my...

The hotel stands on the busiest street and you can take a walk to Parkson for shopping in 10 minutes. The room is ok, and you have to pay for the internet. As one of the modern city in China, the receptionists can speak fluently English and Madarin. In addition, if you would like to book the shuttle bus to...

I stayed in the Meritus for 3 nights whilst on business in Shantou. The hotel seemed a little dated with the decor needing an update if being really picky. The room was a good size and with a separate bathroom and was kept clean & tidy during the 3 days I was there. Unfortunately my room was situated behind the...

The room is clean and equipped but the bed is hard! I could hear a noise of springs when I lied down! The service was ok BUT you must confirm your requests twice! I requested an extra bed to be prepared on the next day but they didn't do. I requested a bell boy service at 5.00 am in the...

We stayed two nights last month on business. As previous reviewers have said, it looks very grand but certain areas are a little on the tired side. The staff were excellent, and plenty of them to assist with check-in, WIFI etc. It is an easy place for colleagues to meet, and walking distance to a huge Walmart if you require...

This Hotel is the obvious choice if you travel to Shantou. Esthetically this hotel looks great and grand. The hotel is not super clean but just gets by the test. There is plenty of space and rooms are very big and luxurious with a nice huge bathroom too. The problem is that as usual in places like this the upkeep...

great hotel. Everything you can think of for a nice hotel. Nothing really stood out to me. Decor was nice and modern. Breakfast was great with mostly Asian options. had cereal but no eggs, waffles, pancakes, or the things one would associate with an "American" breakfast. Rooms were also very nice, but average. There was wifi, but it was either...

This is not a brand new hotel but it's well maintained property. We stayed there for three nights on the non-smoking floor. It's nice to be able to find non-smoking rooms in China. It's very difficult to find supermarkets and food outlets nearby. You need to cross the street to get to the grocery stores, the motorists including bicyclists in...

When I travel to Shantou, I always go to the Meritus. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price. The location is great, with a shopping mall across the street. Breakfast is very good, both western and chinese food. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom ever more! Have been here about 6 times, and I have never been disappointed.
