The ambiance was so cute. All the decoration was made by hand and most of the workers besides being so friendly speak English. Shin, his manager was a really interesting, kind man who gave us conversation during the first night after explaining us the most interesting spots of Harbin. What's more, they have a notebook in English with important information...

Like a Chinese hostel, you shouldn´t expect breakfast - or a "party environment". But the common area is pretty lively during Harbin high season (winter) - with 90% Chinese guests. Staff is great and very open to foreigners. There are items to buy to protect yourself from the cold, you can also purchase tickets for attractions (they even have shuttle...

Honestly I must say it's my first hostel stay in China, so I just can compare to my South East Asia experiences. The hostel standard is ok, the lobby is really comfortable, drinks are cheap, they sell different needs for Ice festival (gloves, heat pads, etc.) and the reception speaks English very well. The dorms are basic and clean. Unfortunately...

After 45 hours standing on trains all the way across northern China from Xinjiang (you'd think late November there'd be seats left: mei you, mei you, lo lo lo - take that as a no then) this hostel in the warm central Russified heart of Harbin's minus-double-figure-below is a place I am biased about already. Chill in a comfy way,...

We left the Harbin Russia International Youth Hostel with a bad taste in our mouths and really disgusted at all aspects to book here at Kazy and could not be happier that we came. The atmosphere is great with cute little sitting areas all nice and cozy and a 'hello' in an abundance of happy languages. The staff are all...

Apparently around about September 2013 they moved from their old building, the red and white one, to a new place. This new building, 27 tongjiang street, was very difficult to find, as there is no sign saying Kazy, not in English anyway. There is a nice common area with wifi, and lots of services available. However, my dorm room was...

Overall, we had a great stay at Kazy's hostel. The venue, a converted old synagogue is very atmospheric, and the living room / reading room are great for meeting people. We stayed here during last year's Chinese New Year and had an amazing dumpling party with (obviously) dumplings, beers and fireworks, lots of fun! The downside: the rooms are incredibly...

I stayed in shared dorm. Everything was fine except the cleanliness. My bed was near the window and I felt cold in midnight. The staffs was great. I met new good friends at this hostel. The worst thing I met was the cleanliness in WC. It was terrible. Location is the best. You can walk to the shopping street. It's...

Converted synagogue that is a bit dilapidated. Great venue, close to amenities, easy to get taxi and the building is amazing. Unfortunately we were not staying in the actual synagogue, but a little annex located next door. Didnt actually tell us that when we booked. The room was old, tatty, mouldy, not too warm with an ensuite that had limited...

“If you have 4 people go the Room with the Mezzanine floor. Plenty of space and although the mattresses suck you will appreciate the space for your 8 layers of jackets and stuff. Ensuite is tiny but showers are HOT and great. BYO food, HEAPS of ways to cook and socialise in the kitchen. Drinking your own grog in the kitchen also seems totally fine :) (Aussies, we love to find a good cheap way to drink :P )”
