Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I turned up with no reservation and got a room easily - helpful staff especially when I got myself in a mix up about the room. Room facilities were good, functional, sufficient (no TV but I didn't need one - there's all of Qingdao to see!), and the restaurant/bar looked good, though I didn't partake. The hostel is in a very pleasant part of old Qingdao with many places to visit in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Qingdao.

The best thing about this hotel is the bar and restaurant. We met lots of people and enjoyed some very reaonsably priced beer. The room was clean and spacious and the staff were incredibly helpful. The only reason I don't score it as 'excellent' is the bathrooms which are not as nice as the rest of the hotel even though recently refurbished. Would definitely stay again.

a very nice hotel with spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, very comfortable bed; on the fourth floor there is a nice littel balcony and a spacious common room. downstairs is the restaurant but the choice for breakfast is a bit disappointing and the coffee is extra. great is the location: right in the centre of the old part of town.

This has to be one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Really great value for money especially as you get vouchers for breakfast and some free drinks at the bar. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice decor. The bathroom in our room was a little dated (our friends paid a bit more for a King-sized room and they had a newer, modern bathroom so they must be updating them all gradually). The hostel is in an old baptist chapel and the style and decor of the whole building is lovely. The bar in the basement of the hostel is great with good food and drinks on offer and a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is only served from 8am which means if you have an early start you can't have breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. I hugely recommend staying at this hostel in Qingdao!

I would definitely recommend this hotel. We were in a king size room. The room was clean and comfortable, with new, stylish design. Bedding was cozy and the bed was sort of soft (as far as Chinese beds go!) The bathroom was really clean and newly-fitted. The place has more a feel of a hotel than a hostel, but great for friends traveling together. There are lots of welcoming public places in the hotel - a lounge and small terrace at the top, bright seating areas on each floor, and a large bar and restaurant on the ground floor. Our room came with vouchers for breakfast and coffee each morning (I had a full-English breakfast - slightly cold but nice), a bottle of red wine for one night of our stay, and a free cocktail each for each night. I think the more expensive your room is the more freebies you get. The bar/restaurant is a nice place to relax in the evenings, and has table-football and a pool table. We visited during a Chinese public holiday and the hotel seemed full but it was quiet in our room and we saw other guests in the bar, but it never felt too crowded. You can order a range of drinks and western meals in the bar, or 2 minutes down the road from the hotel is a street full of little restaurants selling fresh seafood and dumplings at affordable prices. It's about 20 minutes walk to the coast, and the area seemed good for us. I really liked the hotel and

First of all, they have English speaking staff that are actually helpful...that's a first in China for me...they give one free beer per person per day...the public areas are nicely decorated and comfortable...especially loved the patio on the top floor...rooms are newly renovated and clean...to top it off, superb location near the station and beach area...

One of the best hostels I've stayed in in China. The attached cafe/restaurant is affordable and offers wide variety of food with good deals for hostel guests. Both private and dorm rooms were very comfortable, although bathroom facilities weren't as nice as the rest of the hostel. Beautiful building with great design as well.

Very clean and nice hostel. The location is very good and there is a nice roof top where you can sit and chill. Everything has been newly renovated (I think). However they didn't have bike rental which they advertised they had. Also you have to be a bit lucky to meet someone in the counter that speak good english and have good tips. But a very good place to stay.
