Found inside the grounds of the German Governor's Mansion this hotel has an enviable location. Our room had been recently redecorated and was of a good standard. Other parts of the hotel were still to catch up. The staff were excellent, very helpful and efficient. We booked this hotel for its location and connection to historical Qingdao. We were not... I did quite enjoy my stay over there. The location is good and close to the old town (The new district is a little further). The rooms are ok designed and you sleep on some good bedding too. Food is not too bad either. I definitely recommend to check out the nearby restaurant for dinner - Its really good?

This was a lovely heritage hotel on top of the signal hill, right next to the Guest House Museum. We were lucky to be upgraded to a villa with two floors and two bed rooms, two bathroom. The villa room was big and facilities was up to my requirement. This was not a luxury and fancy castle hotel, as the... More

We stayed at the Castle for three nights. It is a great place inside the former German Governor's Mansion compound. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate. The Rathdkellar offers good Western food at very reasonable prices. The staff has a great attitude although English level needs some work. The Hotel is a little moldy, but otherwise a very unique... I really enjoy you to read before booking here! We thought it would be fun and unique to stay in an old castle, so we tried. Very very disappointed! If you have high or average expectations, don't stay here! We first arrived and was warmly greeted by the staff. We were out in a room in the first floor, right... More

The Castle Hotel is in a great location with beautiful views. However, the furnishings are worn, and the facilities are dated (e.g. no USB slot in the TV). The services are also lacklustre. We called for in-room dining, but they refused to give us the menu and said that the bulk of the options were unavailable. The beds are also... More

Locarion is suoerb. A 80 years old castle (the hotel is newest than the Governor residence) top of a green hill 15 minutes away by walk to beaches and 10 minutes away from a temple with view all over the Qingdao bay. Rooms are large and each designed with their own style. I did a visit taken by the nice... More

Booked the Castle Hotel after reading the reviews here... comments which I read were mixed... Now I understand why there were mixed comments about this hotel. Castle Hotel is located in the top of a small hill within the Old Town of Qing Qao, the former German Quarters. It's within the compound of the Former German Governor's Residence. The old... More

Charming boutique Hotel set on a hill in the grounds of the former Governor's residence. Staff were very friendly and helpful - for example the staff went to the German restaurant next-door to obtain a Gin-and-Tonic for me because they did not have any Gin. The room was large and first class. It was a short 10 minute walk to... More

We arrived at the hotel At 1 am to a cosy-looking castle in the middle of no where. We thought the place is hunted as it was so far out and so deep in the woods. The lobby is like a small living room, with trendy design and warm feeling. The rooms are nice, spacious, and clean but for some... More
