Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at this location 2 times this year alone. The 2nd time I gave the place a second chance due to the great customer service of the staff . Sadly even if they do everything possible to please you , you just can’t oversee the hotel unwelcoming rooms, old, out of style, dirty and with spiders and bugs.

The food is great. The kitchen staff are just amazing .

The property is perfectly situated in the middle of town giving you the option to be able to visit most of Cali and have access to he most knows restaurants and bars.

Overall i don’t think i would return here unless the hotel will go through a major remodel.

Was a little surprised, thought it would be a higher end hotel since this is the tallest building in Cali. Felt like a budget hotel in the US. Cleanliness was good, the room was very large, just everything felt like it was from the 1970s. Staff at the reception desk were curt, rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. Everyone warned me about the danger of Cali, but I walked around the area and did a little shopping without any incident. For the price it's a good deal, I felt very secure in the hotel. The Colombians all thought it was expensive, it was less than $30/night with breakfast, just a spot for a tent at KOA is $56 in Sonoma County.

The room is clean and big with a fantastic view at floor 20: bedroom + studio. Bathroom is big and useful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really poor and has low quality. Location looks safe

We arrived very early in the morning before our check in so we asked the staff for an early check in. But we ended up getting checked in half an hour late because our rooms weren't ready. The staff were very rude after we complained saying that check in is at 3:30pm instead of 3pm even though they said 3pm earlier in the day. This was very poor service considering staff saw us waiting in the lounge for over 4 hours. Each room had an extra double bed so not sure what happened to our original booked rooms. The rooms were clean but outdated. The remote to the air conditioning didn't work in one room and the bedside lamp stopped working after 1 day. However the staff at the restaurant were friendly and the food breakfast buffet was okay and the lunch menu was very nice.

Horrible breakfast, no hot water - more like a decent hostal than a hotel. The staff are very kind and the rooms are spacious. Room service is only if you cannot leave the hotel and you have to remind them to pick it up or else they will leave it there for days

We stayed at this hotel for three weeks in 2010 and gave it a good review. We stayed there again this year for three weeks and were disgusted. We booked our reservations on-line with a credit card. Upon arrival they told us we would have to pay half of our cost upfront and the remainder when we checked out. I am retired and we travel a great deal and we've never been requested to pay upfront before. I did so reluctantly. The rooms were clean and spacious. After getting unpacked and settled in we found that the water in the tub drained very slowly. We requested maintenance three times and each time it got worse. They offered us another room but we did not want to repack six suitcases and move. The bathroom door was so badly warped that it would not close. It took three requests to get a burned out light bulb replaced. We had to continually request toilet articles. The maid service was terrible. We had to get our magnetic door key replaced every two days as it would stop working. They said I must have had it next to a credit card or something with a magnetic strip. I could not get through to them that it was not next to anything. They were defensive on each and every issue. Three days before we checked out they got the bathtub drain open. We asked why they couldn't do it on our first three requests and they had no answer.

During our last week there they awoke us at 8:00AM and told us that we had to pay our bill!!! We had only charged two meals to our room for a total of $40.00. I flatly refused and told them they would not get another cent until we checked out!!! We went to the front desk and requested to see the manager. We informed him of our displeasure and felt like we were treated like thieves. They then attempted to appease us. They said that since we last stayed there the hotel was under new management and that was the new policy. I told them that policy should be posted on their web site, which it isn't. I asked them how many people check into their hotel for three weeks at a time. They agreed not many. They apologized many times and asked us to return again. We told them under no circumstances would we stay there again.

So I'm currently still at this horrible hotel, upon arrival nothing like the pictures this hotel on the exterior is horrendous and inside the smell of old and humid is unexplainable, so when I arrived I had to wait 30 minutes to check in cause they had 1 check in agent, upon check in I asked where pool was at NO POOL, the room they gave me was so old I can't even explain how bad, 2 Twin beds I called and asked that I had a reservation for a Queen/King size bed they switch me to a room with a full size bed and claim that's what I paid for I'm like I booked thru Expedia and my reservation says Queen they made me go back downstairs finally gave me a room a bit bigger with a full size bed , I must say this hotel should be closed the sound doesn't let you sleep, the quality of service and cleanliness horrible and the rooms are not worth staying this place needs to close and get a huge remodeling and new staff no ethicalness or professionalism I would not recommend this hotel even if it's the only hotel available is compared to sleeping in the street

My wife and I stayed at Torre de Cali in June of 2008.
The photographs are deceiving. The exterior looks very imposing and modern, but in reality it is fairly old, worn and dated.
The lobby is not well lit at night and does not seem to have been renovated since it opened. The room was large, but the carpet was stained (or dirty), everything was old, worn and dated. The windows do not seal properly, so the noice from the street traffic below is constant and loud. The biggest problem was the bed. I have never slept (actually I didn't) in such a hard mattress. Words can not begin to explain it. To put it in perspective, I have slept better on a carpeted concrete floor. The next day I mentioned this to the staff. They took me to a higher floor which had been recently renovated.
The bed was slightly better but I would have to pay extra to stay in a renovated room. Obviously I did not, and stayed with friends the next day. I sincerely can not recommend this hotel.
