Lukewarm shower water - never hot. Intermittent internet wifi, connected but not provisioned for workable level of service. Losing power frequently overnight turns air-conditioning off, so you wake up in a pool of your own sweat. And above all, the "Dracula" turn-down night maid, never showing-up before 9 1/2 PM, unlocking and opening the room door suddenly with her master...

We stayed here in November/December 2015. El Marques is a true gem! The hotel is a gorgeous colonial house situated centrally in the old town so everything was within walking distance. Decor is super easy elegance,it feels airy and unpretentious. Our room was big and spacious and it included a good variety of a breakfast. We had breakfasts at their...

We choose El Marques Hotel Boutique for a one week stay because of it's central location, it's ambiente and it's good reviews and were not disappointed. Having been in Cartagena before we knew that the Plaza Santo Domingo nearby is like the heart of the old city and the only place where you can sit in a Plaza pretty much...

Beautiful hotel. The rooms are super comfortable and the beds are a dream. This colonial house is magnificent and its decor is very luxurious. I had the opportunity to try the Nativa tasting menu at its restaurant Bohemia and it was out of this world. The chef explained all his dishes and blew me away. Definetly recommend the hotel and...

This hotel is beautiful and we were so excited when we arrived only to realize a neighborhood mung club blasts music until 1 am. If you aren't all about the night life and like to get sleep then this isn't a hotel I would recommend.

Hello Dear Guest. Thanks for taking the time to write. It is strange this situation because all our rooms are soundproof namely they have a system that does not allow outside noises are heard in the rooms. We are very interested in detail its case, you could leave us an email to contact you?

My wife and I stayed at the El Marques for two nights along with an entire wedding party - taking up all of the rooms. Our room was beautiful, the bath area was large, and the bed was very comfortable. The central courtyard was very peaceful and was transformed on the wedding day into a great place for dinner and...

So, whoever rated this a 5 star hotel never stayed there. I will say, this place has character flowing from every crevice. The issues: NOT a business oriented hotel. There were no horizontal surfaces on which to place a laptop in the room. No desk, no table, nada. The common areas are not air conditioned, ok, say I'm a diva,...

Hi Fred. Thank you for taking the time to write. We very much regret the discomfort felt during your stay, let us make it clear that El Marqués is a boutique hotel located in an old house therefore is not legally allowed to modify certain areas such as hallways, for this reason we have no air conditioning in them. The...

I got married in January 2016 in El Marques Hotel Boutique and it was best experience I have ever had. I traveled with my fiance to Cartagena in December 2015 to find locations for our wedding. After checking every single place we fell in love with this hotel for many reasons: it has a great location (the magical the old...

My wife and I just spend the week at El Marques along with several of our family members and closest friends as we prepared for our wedding, which was at Club de Pesca. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner at El Marques. I cannot say enough about how friendly, attentive, proactive, and generous all of the staff members were at...

We stayed here for two nights, hoping to splurge at the beginning of our trip because it was the weekend. Highly recommend dining in the courtyard or the wine cellar when it gets to be too hot (it has air conditioning) because the food is fantastic and the ambiance and music is perfect. Hello! thanks for your opinion. We are pleased that your stay has been pleasant, we have taken note of its recommendations. The casona El Marqués dates back to the XXI century and indeed was the site of many parties attended by celebrities. We hope you can return soon. Always welcome.
