This is an excellent hotel. Situated in a relatively quiet street, when you step through the door you are instantly impressed. We were on the third floor and the room was spacious with an excellent walk in shower. Mini bar, safe and free quick WiFi. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. There are no tea/coffee making facilities. Around the hotel there are plenty of places to sit and relax and there is a small pool and jacuzzi on the ground floor. Service is impeccable at all levels with very friendly staff. Breakfasts are wonderful, cooked to order off a menu selection.
My wife had a massage which she said was excellent. Only downside for me was that music played during the day which impacted on what might have been a more tranquil experience although this is probably the norm for Cartagena. Thoroughly recommended.

The staff was nice. The bed was horrible. Apparently the bedspring or frame made a creaking noise every time you turned over. The mattress sloped you the middle. The toilet didn’t work well. They dispensed water in a jar that was supposed to be clean for drinking. Very questionable.

This hotel fits perfectly into the ancient centre of Cartagena. It is a tastefully renovated colonial building - the room we had was large with a comfortable room and big bathroom. The AC worked perfectly, there was also a ceiling ventilator.
For breakfast one could choose from several variations, fresh fruit was served with all of them.
The staff were very nice.
Sadly the evening meals we had were nothing to write home about - I recommend eat elsewhere.
Next time going to Cartagena, I would choose this hotel again.

Whilst the hotel is pretty to look at we did not have a positive experience:
1. Arrived late in the evening after a long trip. Went to the restaurant in the hotel. My mum can’t eat salt due to a medical condition and doing so could be fatal, we asked if it would be possible to make one of the meals salt free. They told us it would however it came out covered in salt. We sent it back, reiterated the importance of no salt and asked for a fresh dish. However the chef simply scraped the coating off the chicken and sent the same dish back then tried to deny this was the case. We knew it was the same dish from the missing piece of the chicken breast that had been cut off the first time around. After some discussion we were then told all the food was brought in pre made and couldn’t be done fresh and salt free. If only they had told us this when we first asked and then we could have gone elsewhere, by this point it was now 10pm and too late.
2. We were put in rooms on the 3rd floor with no proper windows or natural light. On the second night and during a storm our room flooded. We were told we would be moved down a level but they then just offered us the same room next door which would surely also suffer from flooding due to the proximity to ours etc
3. Service is terrible, never proactive and have to ask for everything multiple times. When complaining about the salt/food situation and flooded room received zero apologies or proper offers to rectify the situation

Overall very disappointed and would not stay here again

The hotel was beautiful and in a great area. You can walk anywhere. The rooftop pool was cute but the service was bad and expensive while on the roof. No one checked on me to see if I needed anything. Also, for the price, which was about 300$ per night (USD), I would think the internet would work a little better. Oh, and the prices were high. Nothing cheap about this place, including the beer.

I stayed here 3 years ago and from what I remembered my experience was decent. I feel hotel defiantly missed the mark this time. I found a decent rate for 2 nights which was half of what it usually is. Even at the discounted rate I feel I might have overpaid compared to other places I stayed.

Pro’s: The hotel is set on a very quiet street that is nice and only a couple blocks from everything.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and scheduled a men’s facial which I did right away as room wasn’t ready. Nice pool options for lounging and relaxing. The complimentary bikes to use to take a spin around town. I highly recommend doing this in early morning or late night as otherwise traffic is just too hectic to compete with on them. AC unit in room had some setting that seemed to ramp up and down the fan resulting it what sounded like wind or waves crashing which put me to sleep and I slept like a baby w that ambient white noise.

Con’s: The rooms are in a bit of distressed state and maintenance and upkeep needs to be scheduled. Half the outlets wouldn’t hold a plug in them I had to prop something up to keep charger from falling out. Don’t plan on doing any work here on computer because the connectivity and speed are a serious hinderance Ceiling where headboard was had a slow drop that landed on bed/head a few times during night. I notified front desk who literally shrugged it off. I notified front desk of that which I didn’t feel was a huge issue but the wifi was and prevented me from doing proper zoom calls and work, they refused to discount or comp or even take credit for the faulty wifi signal in room #202

End result will never be back after the lack of addressing concerns upon checkout or even acknowledging that my stay was subpar.

I do lots of research before I book anything. I am absolutely happy with this beautiful boutique hotel. It feels like you are at your rich friends house. Everybody here is very very kind and accommodating. Food is delicious, spa is wonderful (we did lymphatic massage multiple times) There is not noise and you don't see lots of people even tho the were almost full. Pools, balconies, restaurant is gorgeous.Don't think about it twice

Dear all,

I am reaching out as I wanted to provide feedback about the experience I had at the hotel today. My friend and I purchased day passes for 240,000 pesos each. At the time we purchased the passes, the person at the front desk let us know what would be included with our pass: access to the pool on the main floor, the rooftop pool, and lunch. She also kindly offered to allow us to use the shower at the spa as we would be leaving directly from the hotel to catch a 6-hour flight back home to New York.

We began our day at the pool on the main floor, which was great until 12 pm when the restaurant started serving lunch. We began to notice tour guides leading tourists to the restaurant. The people that were being invited to the hotel did not match the ambiance and price point of the hotel. They were dressed inappropriately and were not the crowd I would imagine a hotel of this level wants to attract.

We sat down for lunch at 2 pm and were rushed to order food. When our food was served, the quality was terrible, and it did not taste fresh. I was shocked by this, considering the price we paid for the day pass and the experience we were sold.

I spoke with the front desk to express my dissatisfaction, and the staff became extremely defensive and argumentative. They let us know that bringing this kind of tourism to the hotel was a means of trying to increase revenue for the restaurant; however, this had a significantly negative impact on the experience of paying customers.

After this conversation, we proceeded to go to the rooftop as we assumed this was a more private area. However, there was no staff attending to the roof, the jacuzzi was not turned on, and the cushions for the furniture were scattered on the floor, and we had to arrange them ourselves to sit comfortably.

By this point, our experience was so distasteful that we wanted to leave. We went back to the front desk to inquire about leaving our bags and taking a shower at the spa later so we could go for a walk around the neighborhood. The staff at the front desk said the spa was booked until 5 pm, and they refused to guarantee we would be able to shower despite the fact this had been promised to us in the morning when we agreed to book the day pass.

After attempting to provide feedback to the staff at the front desk for a second time and it not being well-received, we left and went to the Santa Clara Hotel instead. The service there was impeccable, with an attentive and kind staff who wanted to provide the best possible experience for their guests. The food also matched the level of service and ambiance at the hotel. Considering the day passes at your hotel and the Santa Clara's are the same price, the experiences could not be any different.

I had previously stayed at the Anandá and had a wonderful time. I was shocked by the contrast I experienced this time around, both in the level of service and the type of guests that were invited to the hotel.

Given our experience and the fact the food was inedible, I expect a thorough explanation and to be compensated accordingly.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Martin

Came here on a girls trip to celebrate my friends birthday. They helped surprise my friend with a cake. All the staff were so friendly from the front desk, our servers for breakfast and especially the cleaning staff making sure we had enough clean towels in our roof. The roof top had an amazing view of the sunset that I felt the other guests haven’t taken advantage of it as I never saw anyone else there. The location was only a few blocks from all the restaurants we wanted to go to. Breakfast was al la carte and it didn’t leave me too full, which was good so I can make room to eat other things through out the day. It cost about 20 pesos to go from airport to hotel.

My wife and I stayed here in the days leading up of the COVID lockdown. As the city cleared out around us prior to our flight home, we were so glad we decided to stay here. The hotel is located close enough to the action (few minutes walk), but enough off the main beaten paths that it's not loud or busy on the street at night. The rooms and amenities are stellar, including the bar and restaurant. The property is beautiful, especially the rooftop terrace at sunset. The staff were the best part - everyone was so attentive and friendly, even through all the stress and uncertainty of the surrounding situation. Our bill for 4 days ended up being more than we had wanted to spend, but there were no surprises. We would absolutely stay here again.
