We stayed here for five nights following a wedding in Medellin.
The staff were great. On our first night the room was picking up alot of noise from the street but next day without hesitation we were moved to a quieter room.
Couldn't fault this hotel but morning croissants need to be cooked at a higher temperature and for a little longer.
Would recommend this place. Very clean and perfect location to local restaurants and only a short cheap taxi ride to old town.
Close to beach but wouldn't recommend a visit to it.

Clean, nice, and cozy.

Good location, close to restaurants, supermarkets, ATM, and shops. The hotel is very close to the beach; they have beach towels and always attentive to any additional requirements. It has a nice terrace to enjoy the breeze.

Very friendly staff, very nice (and small) room and best of all the breakfast, it was spectacular! Buffet breakfast, with local options such as arepa ‘e huevo, buñuelo nd empanadas.

I felt very comfortable and grateful. Without a doubt, I would recommend this hotel.

Our hotel room #607 was very noisy. The single pane windows would have to be replaced to mitigate the noise. Taxi drivers love their horns! There is no slope in the base of the shower in our room. Consequently the water does not drain. So the next person, hubby, had to step in a pool of water in order to take a shower. The chambermaid had to mop the water out in a pail. The hotel must be aware but new guests don’t.

Got upgraded to some new towers on their other hotel or a new hotel of theirs literally around the corner. Good sized rooms, nice toilets/baths with warm water. Only gripe was the view was poor from the room, it was a low room and just had a small roof and building view and not even the roads or anything. I just left the curtains closed all day. Staff was polite, helpful and friendly

Beautiful hotel, so close to the beach! Area felt very safe and hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly! We also really enjoyed the bar and restaurant, as well as a great complimentary breakfast buffet. Would stay here again in the future.

I stayed with a large group at Oz hotel and we were blown away by the friendliness and service of the staff. They went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed (phone calls, recommendations, directions, cash for the cab lol). I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Cartagena just for the great service alone. The location was great, hotel rooms were modern and very clean. Maybe the breakfast could improve

So far this hotel and the staff have been great to me. Very clean, quite and everyone is friendly which makes the experience even better. I booked this place for 7 nights and so far been here 5 nights. I read mixed reviews about this place but I still booked and have not regretted it yet. Room includes a daily breakfast which is yummy and the view is amazing. It's located in Boca grande and like 3 blocks from the beach which I don't recommend going ( go to playa Blanca) since it's filled with street sellers and they won't let you relax. It's also 5 minutes away on a taxi to the old city which is a must. Rooms are relatively small which I read on so I booked the suite which is located on the highest floor( 7th ) and I absolutely love it. Hotel is located right in the middle of the city so you'll have, stores, restaurants, bars, etc all near by. Overall safe area so OZ Hotel has my vote, thanks!

we know nothing about this hotel - it was pure guesswork in booking it, however the stay didnt disappoint. It was a lovely clean hotel with good sized rooms. It also had a decent breakfast (buffet style) and there were some nice places to eat as well as it only being a 5 minute walk to the public beach (not recommended as too much hassle). Another plus point was that it was a short and cheap taxi ride to the old town and taxis were plentiful.
The staff were friendly and helpful although few spoke fluent english. It wasnt a problem.
Rooms were cleaned every day and I would stay here again.

Nice staff and clean property. Restaurant at hotel has good food. Staff very limited in speaking english, so it can be hard to communicate at times. Property is within walking distance of everything and great restaurants. I enjoyed my stay here.

I'd love to write a scathing review of this place because it deserves one, but boyfriend is having me dial it back and keeping it to a helpful review. Mind you I've worked in hotels for the past 10 years.

Weather.com was deceptive. Humidity registers here as a thunderstorm every day. We didn't get an ounce of rain.

My flight was canceled and because they are greedy they aren't willing to refund my first night's hotel stay, even though there was not an alternate flight option. As a courtesy, hotels waive a charge when plans change outside of your control.

Anyhow, if you're looking for a bargain hotel, look elsewhere. This place isn't worth ruining your vacation to Cartagena.

The standard rooms are very small. You open the door and are at your bed just past the entry way and there's enough space for you to walk around the bed, but no more than that. We only traveled with a carry on each and there is no place to put them.

The hot water isn't hot. It's either ice cold or when there is hot water it's scalding hot for about 2 seconds before it gets ice cold again.

The window locks from the outside and you have a view of an a/c unit. I can enter the room beside me and climb up extremely easily into another guest room. Very concerning and unsecure, it never locks and anyone can enter your room.

Our door lock didn't work for the first two days. Every time we came back to the hotel room, we ended up stuck in the hallway waiting for assistance. There is not a/c in the hallway so it made it very stuffy. Our bellman at one point came up with a knife to pry off the lock and gave us a hard key to use.

The bellmen are really nice and try to do what they can to provide a pleasurable experience as well as the gentlemen who work overnight.

Personal suggestion: Find a hotel nearer to old city or in old city. We kept taking ubers and taxis back that way because there wasn't good or great food here. Just a grocery store a few blocks away. We tried the food and it was pretty terrible in the surrounding area, including the arepa, which is a common Cartagenian staple and that was too rough to eat.

Good luck!

Yes, this hotel is very guest friendly with great customer service starting at the check in counter all the way to the wait staff. Keep in mind the quality of the room (size and value) verify the room type and match with the photos before booking because the standard room are very small.

We stayed in this hotel a few nights....very nice. Safe area to walk around and good restaurants right around hotel. We only had breakfast at hotel which was very good. Be very careful with belongings on beach near hotel...not very nice. Take trip out to islands or to Blue Apple Beach House for a day or two...much nicer.
