I stayed 5 nights at Casa Venecia from December 30th to January 3rd 2020. Hostel is not modern and polished but was colourful and kept clean. The staff were all friendly but only spoke Spanish. I expect that being in Colombia but just letting others know not to expect English speakers here. Most of the guests were also only Spanish speaking. The pool is small but nice to cool down in during Cartagena’s daily heat. I had a private room beside the pool. Could hear people talking at night outside but not too late. For me hearing people talking in the morning was more of an issue as I like to sleep in. The windows on the private room are just glass shutters so noise can easily come in. My room didn’t have A/C but did have two fans which weren’t overly effective against 30 degree plus weather. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bread, fruit and coffee. Nothing special but was acceptable. Didn’t find there to be much social activity at this hostel which was disappointing but perhaps it was just the group there at the time or the fact my Spanish isn’t very good. All in all it was an positive experience

The rooms are nice and clean. All the beds have a fan for those hot nights and personal night light. The rooms contain medium sized lockers where you can store any valuable belongings in with your personal lock during the day or night. On one of the nights I met a group of friends on the roof top bar and they invited me to a boat tour the next day! Very nice people and had a fantastic time. Totally recommend it.

La brisa loca is one of the greatest hostels in Santa Marta, I traveled to the city with my girlfriend in August 2022 and the experience in there was just wonderful, the hostel's crew were really nice and everything was clean. The hostel is also a nightclub, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want to be in a calm quiet place. They have a co-working zone called Flamingo so it's great if you need to work. The zone felt safe at any moment, with a lot of policemen around keeping things safe. The hostel is located near Parque Simón bolívar and just a few blocks away from El parque de los novios, in which you will find a lot of restaurants and clubs.

The old colonial style building has a nice Bohemian atmosphere, but the private rooms are a bit overpriced, $50 for a private seems a bit much for a noisy hostel in a country which is overall not that expensive. The music and other noise can be heard in all corners of the place and the worst of it is the dang bell that gets rung every few minutes every night in the bar. The place takes on a shady atmosphere at night, as the bar opens up to the public and it also appears to be a place where one can find or bring along a lady of the night, so to speak. The bar patrons seem to go out of their way to make extra crazy noise. Don't stay here if you plan to get much sleep or even if you are looking for a "party" hostel. Food is mediocre at best. Rooms are dusty and we came out with no shortage of bug bites.

Hello Florence, we hope you are doing well!! We are so sorry that your experience with us, wasn't the best! We do like to generate party vibes in our spaces, even though with restrictions, we were out for over a year, so yes, now we are all about becoming and recovering our party vibes. We try oyr best to advertise our place as it is, Rooftop and Bar activites are mostly during Thurs to Sund but for Mon-Wed we keep ourselves more chill, still with noise but finish eaerlier. We will continue doing our best for food and cleaning experience, thank you for helping us to keep doing our best every day!! Hope you can visit us some time and experience our changes!! Safe travels

The crazy breeze is a wonderful hotel, I had a great time there the staff is very lovely very friendly they are super helpful.

The site is very clean, there are many areas of interest nearby. The beach is super close there, the food is delicious.

I really recommend the crazy breeze. Why is it a hotel in which you have a great time both day and night, although the nights there are wonderful, you don't need to look for discos there, there is everything.

In addition, the staff there is very friendly, super creative very lucrative and have a very spectacular atmosphere at night, you have a lot of fun there.

The rooftop is open to the public and it's where the party takes place. Great music, nice place to partying. People from all around the world. There are two different spaces with a variety of music selections. The staff is friendly and chill.

It’s a beautiful place to stay with an amazing service. The food is delicious and is not expensive. The bar service has a great variety of cocktails at a good price and with amazing flavors. Completely in love with the place.

The facilities are cool, clean, comfortable and fun. The personnel is very kind and friendly. BUT if you want to rest, think it twice before choosing it. We were in a private room and just couldn't sleep, as the room was on the 3rd floor and the big party was right in front of our door, too.
A hostel with music and party is cool, but not that much if you cannot rest.
Also, cofee is free all day long (at least for private rooms) 🙂

Relaxed hostel with some shops and eateries nearby. Nearby beaches are dirty with plastic in the water. Personal locker, outlets by bed. Small pool, not big enough to swim, but can chill out from heat. Restaurant on 2nd floor serves decent chicken sandwich on focaccia bread. Lounge area on rooftop. Kitchen lacked basic equipment like sharp knives, flatware and utensils, so I didn’t bother cooking.
