We stayed there 1 night, We had a room at the entry of the forest looking at the see from a rocking chair . The hotel is relatively vintage, people do not speak English. The wifi was working correctly .. The water in the rooms is cold and there mosquitos. Take your repellent product with you. The hotel is perfect...

We splurged ($180 per night, breakfast and dinner included) to stay at this amazing hotel (specifically we stayed at the cabanas at Barlovento). It was truly a unique and amazing experience. It’s located right where the river meets the ocean and our room was literally hanging over the waves. The food and company were both amazing. Highly recommended on either...

Our favorite place and highlight of our honeymoon in Colombia! We stayed one night in the cabana and one night in Maloka, which was a great way to do it. The cabana is definitely an experience, and although it may seem overpriced for the quality of room you get, just look out of your "window" from your bed, hanging out...

Great, unbeatable location, open air room hanging over the ocean, friendly staff (but they do not speak English), and great food!. The ocean and river backdrop is absolutely stunning. The beach is deserted too. We went in September so it was low season. The rooms are a tad damp but this is of course no fault of the owners since...

Finca Barlovento is unique in many ways...the location, a small hotell hanging over the caribean ocean...,the silence except for the waves breaking at the shore continously..best music in the world! Only 4 rooms so it will never get crowded! Wake up with the sun coming up over the ocean and at night the sun going down over tayroona park rainforest!...

Sitting on the confluence of the ocean and a stunning jungle and mountain framed river, this is very probably the most amazing view we have ever had at anywhere we have ever stayed. Nathalie and her staff were also so relaxed, friendly and helpful that it felt like you were staying at a friends home. Amazing.

We stayed in the cabanas in the old house at barlovento. We loved the rustic feel to the house that is positioned on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Breathtaking views of the ocean on one side and stunning views of the mountains and river the other side - tough decisions as to where to sit!! Natalie the owner welcomed us...

We knew it would be fantastic after reading the reviews. Everything lived up to our expectation. Fantastic location overlooking the sea. On the other side is the river and you must get up at 5.30 for the sunrise and peace. You will have a golden moment! Food was delicious. I'm a vegetarian and was catered for perfectly. The staff are...

We stayed at the cabana for two nights. It is just as stunning as portrayed in other reviews. The food is excellent, wine, beer and soft drinks are available through an honesty system. The views early morning are not to be missed. We saw a caiman chasing some horses across the river. Saw some monkeys just along the beach. Excellent...

I can't add much to the other reviews - stayed here for a night with a friend and we were just blown away by how fabulous the whole place was. It's different to anywhere I've ever stayed before, on a deserted beach with some beautiful walks (along the river, up and down the beach the hotel is on, and also...

Thanks so much for your lovely review. You are absolutely right, one should observe caution with the caimans (crocodrylus acutus) specially in the dry season (as we are experiencing now) as they tend to become more territorial. We contacted just a few days ago the government agency in charge of wild life, Corpomag, in order to know if they should...
