Had an excellent stay here. The room was clean simple and nicely appointed. It was on a floor that had only two other rooms and a patio with hammocks and a view of the harbor. The owners were very helpful with directions and arranging local transportation. Water is provided. Breakfast is not included, but there are numerous options. Closeby on the same street is the panderia Savor Cuencano which has coffee, seating and opens at 0600. A better panderia (greater choice, everything fresh daily) is a few blocks further into town is Kachi Tanta which also has coffee but no seating.

The location not far from the main tourist area in town and also convenient from the interpretative center and other points that are easily hiked or biked East of town.

My stay at Dolphins house has been bancancissimo😃🙏🌊 I was very happy with the host family. I felt home from the first moment on. The family was very nice and helped out whenever i needed anything. They were flexible with certain requests and tried their best to fulfill my wishes.
The location is perfect for surfers because you live just 5 min. away from the calle Malecon, the main street and you only need 5 minutes to arrive at the harbor. This is really helpful if you wanna do island hopping for instance.
If you are a passionate surfer as i am its perfect because you walk to the puer catch a boat taxi and drive to the line up. You can jump into the kine up from the boat (Tongo reef) i had one of the best times of my life on Galapagos and was very happy with my stay.
Le agradezco mucho😃🌊🏄

I spent 5 nights at Dolphin House on Isla San Cristobal in the Galapagos and I had a great experience ! The room was large, comfortable and clean. The hotel is very well located, a couple of minutes walk from the beach as well as from the port where most restaurants and bars are. Cristian and his family were super nice and helpful in providing tips for discovering the island and recommending places to visit as well as to book tours and boat tickets. He even came to pick me up from the airport ! I can only recommend to stay at Dolphin House during your trip to the Galapagos, everything was perfect and I felt at home!

Dolphin House is a family hotel run by people who want you to have a wonderful time. Their recommendations to enjoy your stay are very valuable, with information for tours, sightseeing and details to keep in mind when planning your trips. It is really a good thing to have found a place like this in San Cristobal. I highly recommend it. Willians and his wife are very kind and Cristian is an excellent guide, do not hesitate if you have the opportunity to take a tour with him! Thank you friends for making our stay unforgettable!

We (3 guys) had a stay for 3 nights at dolphin house and we all were very excited, because of the very friendly owner christian and his family!

All the people are very kind and helpful, have many advices if you have any questions and even do "private" island-tours if you ask them...

All in all a nice "feel good" hostel. i can really recommend it and i would love to come back!

We stayed on the top floor in November 2016 in their matrimonial room.

These are some noteworthy characteristics of this hotel:
- Very well maintained and managed; this caught my eye in the other reviews.
- Great value - you get more than your pay for. Lowest price for a clean, private room with private bathroom and amenities. If you are looking for something cheaper, you will need to find a place with shared rooms, shared bunk beds, shared bathrooms; these hostels also have fewer amenities and are less clean.
- Newly constructed building (built in the last 10 years); very important to me because I worry about safety issues with older construction
- Very clean; of all the accommodations that we stayed on our trip to the Galapagos, this was by far the cleanest
- Daily cleaning service
- Each room has its own private bathroom
- Free WIFI is available throughout the premises
- Individual room AC provided
- Owners provide bottled water to fill your water bottles, free of charge! They have it in a water cooler that provides cold, hot, and room temperature water. Super helpful!
- Owners provide a refrigerator for the guests to use.
- Water was well-heated; just don't turn up pressure too high or it only gets warm
- Provided clean towels and soap; bring your own shampoo/conditioner
- Room included desk and closet
- Ocean and harbor views - Balcony on top floor with hamocks, looking out over the port area. Beautiful, especially at sunset. Ask for top floor if budget allows.
- Safe area (much lower crime than Santa Cruz Island) and rooms come with individually locked doors
- Some members of family speak English
- Knowledgeable, wonderful family owns this accommodation and has lived on this island for generations and can advise on best snorkeling, hiking, biking, and tour companies; most reviews on this place note how wonderful the family was - this is important! Family is well-educated and shared information on environmental engineering, politics, etc. of the Galapagos! What a treat to be able to learn about the place you are staying from local residents.
- Laundromat is located a couple doors down, very convenient.

These are some things to know when traveling to Ecuador:
- Ecuador is an awesome country full of diversity. San Cristobal is a wonderful island to visit first (and stay the longest) because its population is small enough that the wildlife remains protected and has an island feel, yet big enough that it has all the amenities in case you forgot something.
- You cannot throw toilet paper into most toilets; there is a waste paper basket for this. The reason can be environmental, plumbing-related, or both. On the Galapagos, it is both. Pipes are clog easily, and they want to keep it out of their oceans because they do not have facilities to completely remove it.
- Ecuador uses the same outlets as the US.
- Ecuador uses the same currency as the US.
- Most municipal water is considered potable, but it is still recommended to drink bottled water and drinks without ice made from municipal water.
- Beds are usually smaller than in US hotels. If you do not like sleeping close to someone, consider getting a room with separate beds.
- WIFI in Ecuador is much slower than the US in most places; do not plan to stream TV shows - download them before traveling :o)

The hotel is located a couple of minutes away from the front where one can find restaurants and take the ferry for the other islands. Rooms are clean and are equipped with an AC. The hosts of this guest house are very helpful. They were present to help us plan and arrange the logistics of our day trips from San Cristobal. I highly recommend this B&B.

We were scheduled to spend 3 nights here, but missed out on the first night because a missed connection in Guayaquil. The airline phoned Dolphin House on our behalf (our Spanish is next to non existent) and advised that we could not make the first night and to hold the reservation. On arrival we were met by Christian, who I believe is a son-in-law of the owner, whose English is excellent and single handed brought up our numerous bags up 2 flights of stairs to our room, one of 2 on the top floor facing the harbour. The room was clean, large enough, with a small cupboard for hanging clothes. The air conditioner worked well and the shower produced plenty of hot water. In front of our room, and the room beside ours was a large balcony with 2 hammocks and a wonderful view of the ocean.
Christian was very helpful in explaining our tour options in our day shortened trip, and for arranging tickets for our day trip the day following our arrival and even taking us to the trip office the morning of our trip. He also arranged for our ferry tickets to Santa Cruz, for someone to meet with us on arrival at Santa Cruz, our ferry tickets from Santa Cruz to Isabela Island, and the temporary storage of our luggage in Santa Cruz while we waited for the ferry to Isabela Island. Excellent customer service!
The room, which I suspect was one of the 2 higher priced rooms at Dolphin House, actually had a double/queen bed, and not 2 singles like so many of the lower priced hotels in the Galapagos.
Highly recommended for both the accommodation and the helpful suggestions and assistance in getting tour and onward ferries.

We stayed two nights in this wonderful hotel. We had one of the two rooms on the upper floor with a large baloney with views of the harbor and city. With hammocks and chairs, it was a great place to sit and relax. The rooms were clean with plenty of hot water. The staff of this family run hotel were quite helpful, answering all our questions and arranging a snorkeling trip. They even provided a free taxi service to the airport for a 6:00 am flight.

The accommodations themselves for the hotel are fine (good A.C. and nice view of the water from the top floor) but I have never had a worse night's sleep in a room I am paying for. The walls/windows are very thin which is unfortunate because the neighbor's property is full of the loudest, most uncontrolled pets. I write this review at 3:45am where a dog has barked truly nonstop since 3:10am. While the dog didn't bark quite as long last night, the roosters started crowing at 2am yesterday and went every 15 minutes until we finally couldn't take it anymore and just got up for the day. If you really must stay here, make sure you get a room on the east side of the building which puts you a little further from the neighbor.

While the noise technically isn't the hotel's fault, the experience here from the thin walls has been ruined all the same. Save your sanity and stay somewhere else.

Dear We regret your bad experience, although it is not a direct problem with the hotel, we will try to talk to your pet's neighbor, but in the neighborhood there are no roosters. Thanks for comment.

Most of the taxis in San Cristobal are pickup trucks so you should be able to easily flag one of those to take you to the hotel. It's not far from the airport and should cost very little. We just walked from the airport to the hotel, so I'm not sure of the cost for a taxi, but I would guess maybe about $5 USD?
