This hotel borders the Aswan lake in Abu Simbel.
The rooms in bungalows Nubian style settings are spacious with good views.
The restaurant is the weak link with a large dining room serving mostly rather mediocre food.
Breakfast is particularly unappealing.

This may be the best accommodation option in Abu Simbel, being situated on the lake and within walking distance of the temples. It is pitched at tour groups who stay for one night.
The rooms are comfortable.
There is no WIFI except in some of public areas, and no functioning TV channels. It feels like the hotel just does the basics, even to limiting the bottled water in the rooms.
Food is ok, but again pitched at tourist groups so in cafeteria mode.
A la carte menu prices are in US dollars.
Rates can be very high so it does not represent good value for money, but you will probably only need to stay one night so you may decide that is a reasonable trade-off.

Located barely a 6 minutes away from the airport, this is possibly the best hotel that one can get in Abu Simbel. Located on the shores of Lake Nasser, the hotel is a fairly large property, with some amazing views of the lake. A circular driveway led to the hotel, and while some rooms face the driveway, most of the property is behind the reception. There is a in house store selling Egyptian artefacts

We were fortunate to get an early check in, which was smooth, though slightly long drawn. The rooms we were given were suites - an upgrade that was very welcome. A sitting room and a bedroom, with one and a half bathrooms between them, meant that we could really spread out. The amenities were top class, as were the furnishings. Each of the rooms had its own airconditioning unit. The wardrobes were quite spacious and there was enough space to open two suitcases comfortably - a feature that is sorely lacking in most modern properties. Safe deposit boxes were available in our rooms

Abu Simbel is a sleepy town, so, even though, the hotel is at the edge of the town, there is not much to do on the outside. The hotel is a 10 minute car ride from the monuments at Abu Simbel. This permitted us enough time to recover from an early morning start and then visit the monuments as also attend a rather indifferent Sound and Light show in the evening.

There is a large pool on site with wide open spaces. There are enough lounge chairs to soak in the sun for those who are so inclined. Facing west with Lake Nasser in the foreground, it offered us a brilliant sunset to watch. That sight alone, made our stay here worth the while.

There are one restaurant in the premises that serves a buffet dinner and a cafe that serves a la carte items. The buffet was weighted heavily to serving non-vegetarians and hence we were forced to order items from the cafe. The pizza was insipid and the pasta was only slightly better. However, the lack of other dining options, in the town, meant that we were captive clients.

Breakfast next morning was a little better, with more options for us. The ubiquitous falafel was available, as also sautéed vegetables. Pancakes were premade.available, but not to order. Check out was quite simple and did not take too long. The staff were extremely courteous throughout our stay.

While a lot of tourist visit Abu Simbel as a day trip, if one has to stay overnight, this would definitely be a place to consider.

38 of us arrived in Abu Simbel for half a day but we were the same time as a sandstorm. We tramped through the storm to see the temples but couldn’t leave abu simbel as the airport was closed. A rescue convoy of buses tried to leave by road but had to turn back as the road was blocked by sand. Abu Simbel lake resort came to our rescue. We had dinner and rooms provided. The man at the gift shop even sent a staff member to the pharmacy to purchase toothbrushes and combs. The food was good and the room was lovely. We left at 4.00am by road to get back to our boat to pack our belongings. They even provided us with breakfast boxes for our trek through the Nubian desert.

This hotel could be fabulous as its position right on Lake Nasser is wonderful but the whole place needs a deep clean. The common area furniture is all cane and needs a good sctub and the seat cushions look like they have never been washed. The rooms themselves are spacious and in the Nubian style. The beds comfortable with good clean linen. The water in the bathroom is very hot so don't just turn it.on and stand under the shower, otherwise you will get badly burnt. The old plastic shower curtain needs replacing with something more modern, especially for the price of the room. There is a safe and a small fridge. The latter barely worked and needs replacing. The whole room could do with a thorough clean -it is a shame that whilst closed for Covid that the management didn't do this work. There is a small sit out with 2 chairs and a small table but again they are in a tertible state and need cleaning. My biggest complaint of all was the price of the drinks and the fact that the prices were only quoted in US $ - The food choice was good but the quality was dreadful - they need a better chef. Also absolutely no staff, except a bell boy, smiled. Everywhere else in Egypt, staff smiled and were helpful but not here. This hotel really lets Egypt down and the management/owners need to get to grips with the cleaning and maintenance but I suspect they will just carry on as usual with a "captive" audience!

Any hotel charging over US$200/night should be near perfect in every way. This place is barely two star caliber, with crumbling everything, mediocre food, and amateurish staff. The bathroom had almost no toilet paper remaining when we arrived. There were dead insects all over the room. The wifi was broken the entire time (working for a few seconds at a time). Breakfast was a plate of stale bread and room temperature lunch meat.

If they charged prices that were inline with the quality of service, then I wouldn't expect a five star hotel experience from a crumbling hotel in a remote corner of Egypt.

Took a great trip to Abu Simbel and stayed at Seti Abu Simbel.

The pools were inviting and enjoyable especially since it was hot when I visited in June. The grounds are well kept and picturesque and there are many shady spots to keep cool. The staff were attentive and the food was reasonably priced (breakfast was included in the room cost), delicious and filling. Via the hotel, we booked our guide, Waleed, to see the temples. He was amazing: excellent English, friendly and knowledgeable. We also took an hour-long motor boat ride on Lake Nasser just before sunset. It was nice as well. Finally, after a wonderfully relaxing short trip, I forgot my new swimsuit, but the hotel staff found it and delivered it to me in Cairo. I really appreciated that extra effort. All in all, I'm more than satisfied with the way that the trip turned out and I'm trying to figure out when I can return.

This could be an absolutely amazing hotel if more attention would be paid to it. The setting and outdoors areas are very pleasant and this really could be a 5 star environment. The price is already there, but the place is not. The service upon check in was hardly acceptable, the rooms are basic and do not ooze luxury in any way and the breakfast was well and duly dreadful. I am glad we ate supper elsewhere in the village. Walking distance to the temple was convenient and at half the price this would have been an attractive option, but at more than 200 eur per room this felt like a rip-off.

If you want to visit Egypt in slow-motion you can seriously consider the possibility to stay at least one night at the Hotel Seti Abu Simbel. Built in a privileged location by Lake Nasser and a mere 15-minute walk to Abu Simbel King Ramses and Queen Nefertari Stone Temples, it is the ideal place to disconnect and relax during you trip to Egypt. From there you can easily walk to see the beautiful evening light and music show at the temples. The hotel has charming rooms, all of them little stone houses decorated in Nubian style and imitating a typical Nubian village. Most rooms have a nice terrace with Lake Nasser views. This hotel has great outside spaces including a restaurant, cafeteria, and a great pool again with beautiful views of Lake Nasser. Free Wi-fi is available at these common spaces but not in the rooms. We had a very good barbecue evening meal as well as a wonderful copious breakfast.

I visited here last month and had a great time! The property / view of the lake was gorgeous. It was also quiet and clean too. The staff were very kind and helpful, the food delicious and Chef Said even came out and visited with our group for a bit. overall an excellent visit and will be back again next year! Hi Mr. Itvlwithkids, I am wessam Mohamed Contracting & Reservation Manager of Seti Abu SImbel Hotel First of all i would like to thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at The Seti Abu Simbel Hotel. Our first aim is the pleasant stay of our guests. Allow me to begin by pointing out that our rooms devision manager inspects every single room thoroughly before check in. However if there was a mistake in the cleaning of the room we apologize for it. Also our HK and reception are available 24 hours and would have happily attended to your room or changed it if you wished. Regarding the breakfast, we offer daily: -freshly baked bread, croissant, danish and other pastries. -Premium grade 1 Egyptian cold cuts, sausage, and cheese station. (12 kinds minimum). -Egg station a la minute. -Cereal and dairy station (international brands). -Fresh fruits and vegetables -Oriental corner -Healthy corner containing light and fat free products. -Pickles, French fries, and a variety of other dishes. -Tea, coffee, juices ( not powder juices). Again if none of these items were to your liking we apologize for it. Also please note that in August the temperature reaches 55 degrees Celsius. Finally sir the GM did NOT meet you during your stay. And may I say that 50 piaster bills are almost extinct in egypt we now have 50 piaster coins. And that 100 Egyptian pounds is equivalent to 6USD. Our receptionist and any staff in the hospitality industry earns well and wouldn’t jeopardize their career and risk official investigations for 6$. Our GM is not a thief sir. We thank you for your comment and will face facts that your stay might not have been pleasant. Furthermore we will take all your comments into consideration to improve.

We have not complained. We found our suite delightful and very clean. We were very satisfied with the restaurant, the a la carte dining outside and your wonderful pool area. We travelled in March, 55 degrees sounds very different in August but our rooms had air conditioning and the benefit of cool breeze off the lake. Your staff “went the extra mile” to enable us to visit the temples at dawn and we were very pleased with their courtesy. We should love to return some day, just for a peaceful break. Cramptons

Hi Gary, We stayed there in September and it was fabulous. Our tour guide (Fatma Soliman, marryfa at hotmail . com) booked it for us, I had checked it out the year before and thought it would be better than the pre-dawn drive to Abu Simbel. We were the only ones there so there should be no problems with your booking. Enjoy your stay, Shelley
