The penguin hotel is absolulely amazing. My partner and I booked in for 11 nights and people told us that we would be bored after that time, but we loved it so much we didnt want to leave! The staff are all fantastic, they organized us for us a day trip to Israel, a trip to climb Mt Sinai for...

I really have nothing but great things to say about the Penguin Village Resort in Dahab. Its excellent value, very clean, super friendly staff, great prices at the restaurant, and a very professional dive center. I went with 2 friends to do our open water dive course (3 days), and ended up staying an entire week and doing our advanced...

My family of five including teenagers stayed at the Penguin for two nights. They arranged transportation to St. Catherines Monastery on our way back to Cairo as well. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. In the restaurant Tamer and Osama were very helpful and friendly as well. I highly recommend asking for Mohammed Taeser to be your guide...

We arrived in Dahab with the intention of learning to dive and came straight to Penguin as it had been recommended by a friend. We negotiated a very reasonable package for accommodation for a week and doing a PADI Open Water course, which started the next day. The staff, including thr dive team, have been very good to us, and...

I contacted them by email and the moment I got there, I was welcomed and treated well. As a solo traveller, they gave me a queen bed with a/c and bathroom. They even remembered my name the whole time I was there. Spent a couple of days scuba diving, a Mt. Sinai hike and an all day hike in the...

We stayed at Penguin Village and had a wonderful time. The room was nice and looked over the restaurant , boardwalk, and ocean. We chose this hotel as it was reasonable in cost. This is a simple clean place, that has backpacker rooms in the back, and nicer rooms on the boardwalk/ocean. It is attractive, but not a resort. If...

These guys were legit, they had no bs pricing for everything to do in and around Dahab, including diving at the Blue Hole 40 LE and Climbing Mt. Sinai for 80 LE. We even left our camera in the truck when the dropped us off at our hotel and the driver returned it to us (not a common thing in...

We had a big group--12 people, and we stayed in Penguin Village just one night (Dec. 30 2008) due to our tight schedule. I really enjoyed the experience with the friendly crew and the fantastic enviorment. Yes, the room is not that fancy and more hostel style, but the other is just beyond expectation. The manager-Emad is a funny and...

Penguin was good place to start our Dahab stay at. We spent 2 nights there and then moved down the block to Jasmine. They all have bed bugs. The guy at the front desk was knowledgeable, but out to make a $ - bargain hard with them. Their dive is top-notch - we did our advance cert through them and...

Overall, the Penguin Village wasn't a bad place to stay. Although, I'd be reluctant to say that it was a good place to stay either. It was clean enough and had much needed air conditioning in the brutally hot month of August. The beds were old mattresses covered by a very thin, old cotton sheet rather than proper linens and...
