Desert Rose Resort earns rave reviews for its exceptional cleanliness, with guests consistently praising the well-maintained rooms, pools, beach, and grounds. The atmosphere is described as lively, with top-notch live entertainment, although some suggest certain areas could use a refresh. Professional and accommodating, the staff at Desert Rose Resort is often commended for their service. While the resort offers a variety of amenities that are popular among travelers, there are suggestions that room renovations and more consistent service could further enhance the guest experience. Some guests feel the room quality does not match the high standard of the resort's amenities, yet many find the dining options to provide good value for money.

This hotel has everything you could ask for great pools, lovely beach, entertainment and activities for all and the food is great.
I rate it 4 stars only because we booked to stay in a deluxe club room thinking that this would be something extra special. The room was in block 8000 which is right on the beach front, wonderful view of the lagoon and nice to be away from the main activities as we like to relax. The room was perfectly clean and acceptable but really could do with some renovation. Unfortunately in our opinion it lacked the WOW factor we had hoped for when opting to pay the extra. So for us the room itself was a little disappointing however the location was great for us. Worth noting that if you have any kind of walking difficulties these rooms are the furthest away from the main pool, restaurants ect so may not be suitable.
All areas of the hotel are well maintained with cleaners and gardeners working all day and night.
Great choice of pools, olympic pool, activity pool which is heated and the quiet pool so something for everyone, we personally chose to spend most of our time on the beach area closer to our room which has beautiful views.
There is a man made lagoon with beach area surrounding, if you walk further down on either side of the bella vista bar there is the natural beach which has some really amazing snorkelling spots. Highly recomend taking your snorkel along with you. We also tried diving with the hotels diving centre on the house reef which was equally as good.
The food here is amazing and i cannot praise the chefs and waiting teams enough. I work as a head chef in a busy pub restaurant and i can imagine how much hard work goes into the food that is served for breakfast lunch and dinner. The main palm restaurant has everything you could ask for with truly amazing breads, salads, main dishes, soups, pasta, omelettes, fresh fruit, pancakes, and beautiful desserts. We also aye at two of the other restraunts, fatoosh and ranchero, which both made special dishes for my vegetarian partner.
There are many bars to choose from each again with a different feel, our favourite was club soda which had a lovely relaxed vibe. Cant comment on the evening entertainment as we didnt ever go to see it as its not really our kind of thing.

Tip... get an orange flag from the towel centre if you dont want to be bothered by people selling trips ect on the beach or by the main pool

Overall a great hotel with good facilities, everyone catered for

We’ve just returned from staying here for 7 nights. We had an incredible time at this resort and were so impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the resort given its vast size.

Our room was cleaned to a very high standard daily - special mention to Sayad Saber who cleaned our room and was always very helpful and friendly.

The grounds are maintained to a very high standard which is quite an achievement as the resort is huge! With 3 pools, an aqua park, a beach, several bars, an indoor gym, outdoor gym, spa and 4 restaurants there really is so much to do here. You are never short of activities or things to do.

The Animation team do a great job at keeping everyone entertained, and we were really impressed with how many languages they could speak! They were great at getting everyone involved in the various activities and were genuinely lovely, fun people to be around. Special mention to Hady and Ali who we spent a lot of time chatting with and were very helpful during our stay.

We mostly ate at the buffet which was great and there was a massive range of food daily. The kitchen staff and chefs clearly work very hard to put on such an impressive spread. As a vegetarian it would’ve been good if some of the salad options were labelled as vegetarian, as a few times I got caught out and picked meat options by accident. Overall though there were many vegetarian options daily and I wasn’t short of choice.

Special mention to Islam Mowad whose section we ate in most in the buffet restaurant, who again was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time and enjoyed our food.

We also ate at the Italian restaurant which was very good and the 4 cheese pizza in particular was great. Special mention to our waiter Mohamed who was very attentive and helpful.

Our best meal of the week was at Fattoosh, the Middle Eastern restaurant in the resort. The food was amazing and the restaurant has a very good atmosphere and was an enjoyable dining experience.

The bars throughout the resort were also good, although slightly more variety on the cocktail menu would be a welcomed change as the all inclusive cocktail menu is quite limited. Having to pay extra for certain items on the drinks menu isn’t great given it is an all inclusive resort.

We genuinely had a fantastic holiday here and were sad to leave after 7 days. The heart of this hotel is the people and they really were what made our experience so great. Everyone is friendly and go above and beyond to help and ensure we had a great stay. I’d highly recommend this resort to anyone looking to stay in a beautiful, clean and entertaining hotel in the Egyptian sunshine. We will definitely be back next winter! Thanks to everyone who made our holiday so amazing.

I visited this hotel with four families in six rooms
We did enjoy so much our stay in desert rose however in brief I will review the hotel in positive and negative
Positive
• All hotel staff are very helpful and attentive. They go extra mile to help everybody.
• The hotel is very clean and has many swimming pools and a lovely sandy beach which is very safe to non-swimmers.
• The hotel has many outlets and a nice evening entertainment and you will never get bored.
• You have an opportunity to eat in ala cart restaurant but remember preservation is a must because the hotel is very busy .
Negative
• The food in general is good whoever
the mini pizza
in pizzeria outlet is horrible in shape and taste I’m sure that the executive chef
Never been there and never taste it either the managers, although I complained about it several times and nobody took any action
To change this pizza, if they can improve it that will help so much to reduce the crowed in the main dining room in at lunch pleas look at my attached picture of this miserable pizza.
Rice pudding
this item is a proof that something wrong in the kitchen supervision, I and twelve people of my family couldn’t even to eat one spoon of this rice which is so easy item with rice , milk , coconut and some nuts . what we tried is disaster .
very poor cheese quality
but its accepted as the hotel rate is very low.
dessert in Mexican restaurant is very poor .
• Hygiene
The hotel serve cutlery on a plain table without any disposable placemat and of course they use chemicals to sanitize and sterilize the table after each use and then we put cutlery directly after chemical on table after getting it out from its plastic bag
I do recommend the hotel to use such a disposable placemats to avoid any hazard .

My special thanks go to Mr. Ahmed Hagrass the hotel restaurants manager who is very dynamic person and doing his best to make sure that everybody is happy and satisfied .
Special thanks to Ahmed Hagag the beach bar bartender for doing his best to make my family happy.
Special thanks as well to captain Karim who helped us so much .
Finally
We loved this hotel and we will be back soon .

First of all the positives:
It is a beautiful property with 3-4 pools and a beach area on the Red Sea. Basic dining is at a buffet with a lot of options. There are also speciality dining also included (except the Italian which is extra) all inclusive drinks is great! (We didn’t opt for the higher package which I think gets you more options for beer and liquor) the staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean!
The bad:
A bad windstorm swept through which forced the closure of the beach and pools. However, later in the day it had passed and the pools had sand in them so they remained closed all day. The next day they were clean which was great but of the 3 pools only one is heated and the other two were freezing cold! There was no one in these beautiful pools! At exactly 5pm they make everyone get out and they close them! They also close the beach as well. There’s no good snorkeling or anything to see. So we booked an excursion. We found out later people on our boat paid different prices! Apparently it’s not a set price? We met some backpackers who were charged 300egp less than we were. People said they look at you and judge if you have money and then set a price. They need to have the prices posted somewhere so everyone knows what they’re paying! There were times we wanted to just relax in our chair by the beach but we were always being approached by someone wanting to sell an excursion or book into the spa. It really gets frustrating everyone trying to sell you something. On the snorkeling trip (which was beautiful) they bring a photographer who will insist on taking your photos and then later try to sell them to you at a ridiculous price (1,800egp) and when you say no, he gets angry and they try and pressure you! He even tried to get me to take my swimsuit top off for a photo! Then they have an envelope for tips and even though tipping is supposed to be optional, they are going from person to person with the envelope! And then they pass around a comment paper for you to write but it’s hard to say what you want when they read it right in front of you and have your name and room number. It really puts you on the spot!
The snorkeling was great and our guide Sam was awesome pointing things out in the water and looking after us. Be prepared the water is cold!
We read other reviews on here about booking the specialty restaurants early as they fill up so we tried the minute we checked in and nothing was available our entire stay! Spoke to management and they were kind enough to get us booked, and we were a little surprised to see the restaurant almost empty. One page of the menu is included and then there are a few a la carte pages for an extra charge, and of course they persist in getting you to purchase bottles of wine or upgraded beer that isn’t included. It’s just exhausting after 10 days in Egypt of always feeling like they want to sell you something!

We had a great holiday at this hotel at end of January.
The hotel and rooms: 8/10 a bit outdated, especially the rooms, but luckily you have plenty of things to do and enjoy your outdoor time so you don't have to stay in the room. We where going in the room at midnight, when the bar closed.
Reception staff: 6/10 we never received the food on arrival, even after calling reception twice, so kids slept hungry. On checkout they said we cannot eat at the restaurant anymore, even though our transfer was at 5:30pm. After complaining, they gave us the wristbands back so we can eat till we leave. This should be addressed as the hotel is mainly family, so kids cannot go hungry from 12 till late.
Resort staff: 10+, these people go all the way to make your holiday a great time. Big thanks to all the people working here, keeping the resort, restaurants, toilets, bars, terrace and pool area spotless clean, and always up to help you.
Speacial thanks to Mahmoud Zidan, he made our holiday 10x better, with great service and attention to details every night we stayed for drinks at the terrace
Covid19 safety: staff uses masks, all the time, in the entire resort. There are cleaning every sunbed, table and chair after each customer so risk is very low. Hotel wasn't crowded, so we felt safe all the time.
Food: very good, with plenty of variety daily, a mix of great fish, poultry, sea food and beef meat with selection of side dishes and very good deserts
Drinks: plenty to pick from, good selection of cocktails and long drinks. One negative would be the beer, it's not cold enough and bars where running out of beer occasionally.
Entertainment staff: they have plenty of activities during the day, including fitness, water polo, voley, and others to keep you entertained. At night, there is live music, or DJ, and other entertainment.
Kids entertainment: Movies every night for the kids, and mini disco
Extra excursions: you will get salesman trying to sell you different excursions and Spa tickets. We booked with Josef a quad bike experience and sea snorkeling cruise. He offered best price and he's also a pleasure to speak to. He spoke to us daily, even after we bought the excursions and was a pleasure to deal with
Thanks again to all the staff working here, we would love to come again, and we will see you all as soon as possible

In my previous review I rated this resort as "very good". I visited desert rose again after 6 years and this time I found it , in respect to the price , excellent. The resort staff is very kind, helpful and decent. Hygiene level is very high in every place. Food quality and variety are very good. There are also some restaurants serve different kinds of food. Snack bars serve snacks, sandwiches, fries, popcorn, soft drinks and ice cream. Guests can enjoy the aqua park, two swimming pools and an olympic, adults only , pool beside the very long beach. In the other side of beach guests can find a good swimming area instead of the muddy ground water in the front side of beach. In that back side There is a long coral area in low water level and guests can do snorkeling and enjoy watching different kinds of coloured fish. There is also a kids area with some small rides. Nowadays there are no night parties in the amphitheatre due to covid 19 precautions but the resort tries to compensate this by some live music and bands in the snack bar at night. Somethings I didn't like I will mention them in brief:
The served juice is dissolved powder not nectar.
There are only six slides in the aqua park one of them is useless since it is not slippy. I hope the resort replace this one and try to revamp the aqua park. There are only two of the doubl seats floats and guests have to wait to find one.
I hope they don't allow female guests to use the swimming pool without swimming hair cap.
Kids area needs more development.
Conclusion:
Residence in desert rose resort is enjoyable and I would advise to try visiting this resort.

I stayed here in July 2019 and it was one of the worst vacation choices I made. The travel agency where I booked this trip, ZTour Agency has lied to us by giving us false information. They told us that it is in the heart of the Hurghada resort, in fact it is 20 minutes by car from Hurghada and 40 minutes from the airport. The complex is far from 5 *, the rooms look maximum 1 *. They walls are with mildewy, poor cleaning, old and destroyed furniture, no wifi signal in rooms. Access to the beach is not allowed after 6 pm, bad coffee, so-called natural juices with chemical taste, the alcoholic drinks served are poor and of poor quality. The food is edible but not suitable for a 5* resort, it is like a food canteen. In vain did I ask for rooms according to the promised offer, I was asked for an extra $ 20 / day / room. I'll never choose again Desert Rose complex and i'll tell everybody to avoid this place. I'm very curios if the staff will let the photos with my comment or they will delete them.

It is hard to know where to begin...
We have just spent 11 nights at Desert Rose Resort, our first trip to this hotel.
I can honestly say that this hotel has been our favourite of all our Egypt stays.

Before I continue, I want to name a few staff members who have given us the perfect stay. Romany Adel, Ahmed Mohamed, Mohamed Omar and Mohamed Hassan and last but not least Abelrahim Osman. Abdelrahim is a wonderful man and was very helpful when I contacted him as I was worried about my beloved food as a vegetarain. I didn't need to worry as he ensured the fantastic chef Mohamed al Azizy looked after me every night with some of the best food I have ever eaten.

I must continue with the staff in the Italian restaurant. I can honestly say they are a perfect group who completement each other really well and are a superb team. They are led perfectly by Romany and are great fun, attentive, serve great food ALWAYS with a smile. They have made a big difference to our stay at DR which is particularly important to us as our time together is shortened as my husband has brain cancer. So when I say our time has been PERFECT, it means more to us than maybe others.

The reception staff, gardeners, cleaners and animation teams all deserve great credit also.
We stayed in block 6000 which hasn't been refurbished yet but was still wonderful and with the most comfortable bed!

Always something to do whether at the many pools or beach, yoga, pool in Harrys Bar or entertainment in the winter gardens.

We hope, that we can return later this year fingers crossed.

Thank you again.

Bernadette and Barry ❤

Overall, a wonderful experience, and I'm definitely coming back!

Let's write a review while my memories are still fresh - I've just come back from my 10-days stay at the Desert Rose. First time there, second time in Egypt.

First impression: the lobby does not do it justice as it doesn't match what awaits you once you pass the reception building. I'd definitely remove those wall paintings.
However, when you go to your room and walk around, you get to be amazed more and more by its wonderful gardening, plenty of pools, and the lagoon.
The restaurant stands out from the other places I've been to as you can dine outside, with a nice garden view. They also have "adults only" space inside the restaurant. The moment you sit down, a waiter comes and asks about your preferred drinks.

Overall, very hospitable and friendly staff, especially in the adult section and outside (Samier). A little smile goes a long way. All COVID measures were respected and you would not see an employee removing a mask or gloves even for a moment.
The Soda Bar staff was amazing, especially Ibrahim (one of those perfect waiters who is quick to find you a table and remember your favorite drink). The Bela Vista cafe (at the lagoon) has a breathtaking sea view and a friendly crew as well, so kudos to them as well :).

Animation team: Zaza, Andrew, Nermin (yoga), Michael (diving), fitness instructor, and Yulia (zumba) made the biggest impression. Zaza and Andrew were always very helpful and ready to make you smile. Nermin is a true gem as she is a real yoga teacher, so you feel extemely lucky to get professional yoga lessons twice a day! Michael, the diving instructor, is the most calming teacher and perfect for those who want to try diving, but are very afraid. Mustafa is an excellent diving instructor too. The fintess instructor made our core muscles work for real in aqua gym, which was a nice surprise - usually aqua gym is just a lot of splashing around.

The staff offering different programs is very kind and do not go on and on but let you be if you are not interested. Katie from the guest relations personally checked why we changed our room and if we are happy with it, and even did a small survey.

Things to bear in mind: our agency and the hotel had some issues during our last day, so make sure you check your rights on time. Big waves can be very problematic if you wish to go snorkelllng and scuba diving by boat. More staff is needed in the bars — it gets pretty hectic during peak hours. Use the privillege to try scuba diving in the pool if this is your first time. Birds long for your food if you eat outside the restaurant, but a waiter usually watches your table. Belly dancing lessons should have more songs and choreographies (there is just one song).

All in all, I'm definitely coming back!

We have been coming to Hurghada for 12+ years and Desert Rose Resort is number 1 out of all the resorts at which we have stayed! We spent three glorious weeks there: September 15-October 5th.

First of all the place is beautiful and enormous! The grounds are magnificent with green and flowers everywhere. There are many restaurants and cafes but unfortunately, due to Corona, some are closed. Our favourite was the Arabic restaurant Fattoush. It is a huge tent decorated Arabic style and the food was delicious. The main restaurant that serves 3 open buffet meals every day featured mouth watering dishes of every variety and the best selection of sweets and pastries ever! Very easy to gain weight which we did but well worth the sacrifice to get rid of it which we will!

For those concerned with Covid19 precautions, I can categorically state that the hygiene measures are impeccable. Even in the restaurant, all servers stand with masks and gloves and serve the food to your plate so no one is touching utensils! We were very impressed!

The beaches are beautiful and several areas to choose from. Even though we are not swimming pool lovers, there are three huge pools including an Olympic pool for serious swimmers as well as a separate Aqua Park .

The staff were wonderful from restaurant personnel, room cleaners , beach guys and Front Desk personnel. Every person seemed dedicated to his job and were friendly and helpful!

It was a wonderful experience and we will be back again. It has our five star recommendation!
