If you're looking for a relaxing and welcoming environment where you can be immersed in the local culture, have immediate access to amazing views and world-class snorkeling then this is the vacation spot for you. If you want a "resort" atmosphere where you do nothing and the only local culture you see is when you're served a poolside drink -...

We spent 5 nights in the main, 3 bedroom, house and it was amazing. Getting beautiful sunrises as well as gorgeous sunsets is something we really loved and admired each one from the lovely patio. On one of the nights, we asked Pita and Lo to arrange a "Lovo" (Feast) as an engagement party for some of our friends and...

Beyond everything! We stayed for three nights while honeymooning. We had a one bedroom oceanfront bungalow. Welcomed by unbelievable flowed lays. The grounds are well done. The staff was always attentively to any requests. The young boy rowed us out to a small island and left us there with a picnic for the afternoon and then returned for us later...

We just spent a week at Matei Pointe. It was one of the most wonderful vacations we have ever had. The location was extraordinary. Pita and Lo, the couple that took care of the house, also took excellent care of us. They welcomed us into their family. The snorkeling and diving was some of the best we have ever done....

We went to Matei Pointe for a month and still it wasn't long enough. What an amazingly beautiful location - it truley is paradise and the real Fiji! The icing on the cake has to be the lovely, helpful, funny, busy Pita and Lo and all of their family who over the month managed to become a part of all...

We arrived here after escaping the Tavenuni dive lodge (which, appropriately was a total dive). It wasn't the first place we tried but it was the only one available in our price range and with some level of comfort. We booked in for 2 nights (that was all that was available) and negotiated a rate of about £50 per night...

Just came back from Matei Pointe, and a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful and clean. We had a wonderful time snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing in the Bure. The combination of taking the kayak out to the reef and snorkeling there made it so easy! We didn't want to leave.

I recently spent 8 nights at Matei Pointe Beach House on Taveuni with my parents at the end of this August. From the very first moment I felt like home and just wanted to stay there forever. The house is located on the cape with the most beautiful garden I've ever seen and the most beautiful view through the palm...

We stayed in the Sunset Bure for 4 wonderful nights. I would describe it as a large studio apartment with an amazing outdoor deck overlooking the water. We spent a lot of time just sitting and relaxing out of the deck, watching the ocean. And they don't call it Sunset Bure for nothing! Beautiful sunsets! The grounds are beautiful, lots...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Matei Pointe is located on the very tip of Taveuni, Fijis' most beautiful island. The Garden Island. We are surrounded by water on 3 sides. The sun rises over the ocean on our Eastern Beach and sets back over the water on our Western Beach for awesome sunrises and sunsets! After many years serving the tourism industry, we have recently closed our facilities to fully renovate the Bure and the main house. We hope to re-open mid 2016. Keep in touch. ... more   less
