An amazing place for a family to stay over. The ambiance was good and the food was really good. Uncle Felix and the Manager Arun and Santosh did an amazing job with the Hospitality. Thank you Alan!!! It was a good experience.

As always the place is beautiful and welcoming. The staff was fantastic and made us feel right at home. We spent the New Year there and were looked after very well. Full marks to Arun, Santosh, the housekeeping staff and the cook Santosh. Food has improved a lot since our last stay there 2 years ago On the con, the maintenance of the rooms, dining areas and porches could do with a lot of work. The amenities as shown on the site and as existent also differ to an extent. There are no televisions in any room (removed; as I recall there were from my earlier visit). The plumbing needs a major overhaul There is construction on of additional rooms and the banging was disturbing to say the least ! AND we were not warned of this in advance. The lake needs to be cleaned thoroughly We love the place and trust that the management will take the above as constructive observations of a well wisher and act on it

The thing we really liked about The Hidden Valley is its rawness. 35 odd acres of raw coffee, pepper, betel nut plantations, that you can quietly walk around with your pets and family. The air is fresh. A vast variety of birds sing from the woods. You can also walk out of the Valley into quiet and bucolic gullies. Apart from all this, The Hidden Valley has two other specialities: 1) Very Friendly and Supportive staff The staff, especially one Mr Arun and one Mr Santosh were so cheerful and supportive. Mr Arun even gave us a small packet full of raw green pepper with which to make pickles! He even helped us with our punctured tyres. Mr Santosh introduced us to Odissi cuisine. But everything he cooked was heavenly. The pineapple curry, the drumsticks-in-mustard gravy, and the pakoda curry deserve special mention. 2) A simple pond and boat At the heart of the valley is a tiny little pond with a quiet mechanical boat in it. Imagine this: you've just taken a sumptuous meal, it's afternoon, and you float on this boat, reading a crime fiction novel, with a wide panorama of silver-oaked trees to stimulate your imagination... heavenly! Lastly, and most importantly, there were no mosquitoes! I really hope I get to a point in my career where I can spend an entire month in Eden!

Worst place with tasteless and hopeless food. Food menu also very boring. Looks like the cook is too lazy to even taste the food before serving as it had absolutely no salt and spice. The food served is not even authentic malnad. It’s all North Indian style food but without any taste. Owner stays somewhere else and is managed by an understaffed set of people. Bathrooms were dirty and stinking Pillows were stinking. It was nightmare for us to sleep in those shabby beds as we felt it was all very dirty. Good part was only the view from dining area but if cleanliness is not maintained then there is no point of any view. The common area was not even cleaned the next morning after it was all dirtied. We cleaned it ourselves as we couldn’t see it. Never go with family and kids.

Response from Henry Aranha, Owner at The Hidden Valley
Responded 26 Oct 2023
Dear Guest, It is indeed unfortunate that your stay with us was not up to par. This is definitely not the standard we hold ourselves to. We will look into all aspects mentioned by you and ensure that corrective action is taken as a priority. Having said that, your comment suggesting that we are probably paying for reviews is not in good taste and defamatory, not just to us but to all those who have expressed their stay experience with us up until now.

We stayed at this amazing property for an office team-cum-family outing of 20 people including 3 kids and an Infant. The property was the best choice for our size of team with its unique bedrooms with attic-style beds, bringing everyone closer. The property is tucked away amidst the lush green coffee plantations, nature at its best while walking around the property, boating in the mini lake, more specifically the sound of different birds chirping early in the morning took us just out of the world. The food was good, we felt like eating homemade food throughout the trip. The best experience we had on the property was the bonfire. We went on talking, dancing, and singing for hours till late night during the bonfire. All-in-all, the property is great for taking pictures with scenic backgrounds, home-made food, awesome hosts, undisturbed plantation walks, and for being in the lap of nature away from all the noise.

The stay is serene and pleasant. It’s a pure nature stay, if you wanted to stay between the woods, this is the best one to stick with. Goutham, Henry Sir and Roopa Ma’am were very helpful. They were very friendly which made us to feel as if we are at our home away from our home. The food was simply delicious and sumptuous. This would be my always go to place to stay whenever I would visit Chikmagulur.

We made trip to hidden valley in month of July. We got the room with Amazing view. Since it was raining, we couldn’t explore much in the property. No bonfire coz of rain. Rooms were decent enough. We travelled with a year old baby thus they prepared non spicy food for baby and spicy food for us as per our requirement. Overall it was a good experience:)

This hidden gem is a pet friendly retreat like no other we’ve been to so far. This homestay nestled in the wilderness is a perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. If you want to spend some peaceful, quiet time in the lap of Mother Nature & rejuvenate, this is the perfect place for you. The homestay is located at just a 5 hour drive from Bangalore. Enjoy some delicious local cuisine amidst the sound of birds chirping, while enjoying gushes of such pure air. The homestay has 2 adorable, super friendly resident dogs named Lucky & Jackie. They also have 2 cats, several roosters, rabbits & ducks. All these animals are taken care of so well by the staff & are living a cage free, flourishing life 🥹 The biggest charm is the gorgeous, small, private lake inside the homestay. We cannot wait to revisit 🫶🏻
