This relaxing and serene home stay is run by a Catholic family in a Centuries old Dutch building. It is centrally located on Princes street - one of the earliest streets laid out in Fort Cochin, beside the many shops, the Cozy streets, cafe's and restaurant's which are conveniently located near by. In this family run home stay, we pride ourselves on a high standard of friendly cheerful service which caters to the needs of the whole family.

My wife and I were smitten with this place as soon as we walked in. The whole family are warm and welcoming, and BOTH rooms we stayed in (we extended our stay partly to avoid having to travel out of town on New Years Eve but also because we loved the place!), round the back in a beautiful secluded garden were really special, spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and each with a little outside area where you could sit and admire the plants in almost complete silence despite being in such a central location on Fort Cochin's main street. Very highly recommended.

Excellent stay in delightful old house with beautiful garden that is tended by the family. Rooms are spacious and clean with A/C which we needed. Breakfast was cooked to order in a lovely dining room where we shared experiences with other travellers. Our hosts provided everything you could need- purified water, map and suggested walking tour and restaurants. They will arrange taxis and give helpful advice. We couldn’t thank them enough for their hospitality. Very good value.

We stayed at Walton's Home Stay recently, and had a really good experience. It is a family business, Mr Walton welcomed us and was most professional and friendly. His daughter Charlotte was around all the time, and was really helpful. Mrs Walton cooked us excellent eggs for breakfast, and Charlotte's sister ran the boutique next door which had the best quality and value for clothes that we found in Fort Cochin.
Our room was comfortable and spacious, our adult children were in two further rooms and they were all of a high standard - clean with hot water always available, and very effective air conditioning. The decor was classic dark polished wood and the interior of the homestay included a garden which was an oasis of peace in the middle of the busy town. Walton's is placed right in the centre of Fort Cochin, everywhere we wanted to go seemed to be easy walking distance.
As an extra bonus, Charlotte advised me on a herbal remedy which really worked. We felt so well looked after there, we would recommend Walton's Homestay to anyone visiting Fort Cochin.

Second time here and a great, central location in Fort Kochi. Beautiful family run homestay which is good value for money. Rooms are traditionally furnished and breakfast is served around a communal table. The gardens are well tended and provide a nice respite from the outside world. Mr Walton and his daughter Charlotte are very helpful

The Walton family go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable in this interesting Portuguese-era homestay in the heart of Fort Kochi and close to everything. I stayed for three nights in early February 2020 as part of a Kerala Connections tour. On the day of departure Mr Walton very kindly offered me the use of my room at no charge until I had to leave for the railway station at 6pm. Both he and daughter Charlotte were extremely helpful in providing local information and ensuring my stay was an enjoyable one. Breakfast at the communal table upstairs is excellent (try Mrs Walton's delicious masala omelette) and a good opportunity to meet other guests. This place is a rare find and I highy recommend it.

Walton's is a great value in an unbeatable location. Our comfortable and clean room opened onto a beautiful garden. Breakfast was home-cooked to order and delicious. The property is right in the heart of Fort Kochi and was an easy walk to other sites including Jew Town. The Walton Family were welcoming and attentive hosts who provided us with many helpful recommendations for attractions and food. Mr. Walton arranged for a tuk tuk driver named Freddy to take us on a day trip to some very off the beaten path sites around Kochi including a local market, a beautiful beach, and a restaurant perched over a rice paddy we never would have found without a local guide. Mr. Walton stayed up past midnight to see us off to the airport on our last night. We highly recommend this homestay!

This was a really great place to start our visit to Kerala. Mr Walton and his family are such great hosts and always full of useful information and recommendations to enhance your stay.

Breakfast is served at communal tables and it's great to share experiences with others.

Mr Walton spends a lot of time tending his gardens, which are beautiful.

The rooms are clean and comfortable.

What a delightful place to stay. Mr Walton and his family are both excellent and friendly hosts. They have all been very helpful in providing local knowledge. The homestay is ideally situated for exploring the immediate area. There is a well maintained courtyard garden at the rear of the property to sit and listen to the local birds. An excellent breakfast is provided in a very relaxed environment.

We stay at Waltons for three nights, the perfect length for a first visit to Cochin.

We arrived having flown from London via Doha. Unfortunately my baggage didn’t. As soon as we told Charlotte she took charge, so we could enjoy our stay ( with some new clothes’ purchased ) while she sorted out recovering my lost baggage. On the third day, due to much chasing by Charlotte, my bag was delivered.

The location is perfect, in the center of the old town but quiet. The rooms are spotless. Plenty of good restaurants locally. When we arrived Charlotte gave us a map of local recommendations for eating and advice on the best ( cheapest ) way to get around.

The garden is a joy, with lots of medicinal plant, which Charlotte will happily share her knowledge of.

I would highly recommend Waltons and definitely stay there again if we visited Cochin in the future.

We spend a very nice and relaxing time at Walton‘s Home Stay, the room has been very clean an quiet, facing a lovely courtyard with flowers. The owners have been very helpful with tips in and around cochin and gave us a warm welcoming. There was a possibility for making tee or coffee during the day and a possibility to take fresh drinking water. Breakfast was gorgeous and made with lots of love and served in a big kitchen. Sitting on a round table with other guest you could chat an exchange traveltips and experiences. We highly can recommend this unique and very charming place.

Answering one year too late, nevertheless, a response. Walton's Homestay is family-run and very safe. The town feels also very safe. We were 2 women alone, my daughter and myself.
