John was a really kind man honestly, he handed everything whenever we required something, the only problem is the weather it's humid here and they tried to give a lot of ventilation but I loved the place

WOW! Really bad! No wifi, the electricity failed (so wifi wouldn't have worked anyway), no fridge (which also wouldnt have worked with no electricity), no place to store clothes except on the floor, seven guys sitting at the outside table when we returned from dinner, the beach had a noisy dredger working 100m off the shore and the sand was so steep due to the constant work being done on what will be India's largest port that swimming would have been dangerous. Instead of staying the intended five nights, we left after our first crummy breakfast. The older photos are not what it's like now - the trees at the northern end have been cut down and they are building what I assume is port infrastructure above the beach (see google maps). We were constantly been asked if we needed anything by the numerous guys milling about the place. All quite awkward and uncomfortable, really. Oh, and the host tried to charge us 5,000 rupees for a lunch, when we initially arrived, of King Fish, cold rice flavoured with a stock cube and frozen broccoli he admitted was bought from Lulu's! 150 euros a night is what it's advertised for (only breakfast included). Not worth 15 euros a night. At least we have had a good chuckle about this place since we left.…

We had a sensational time in Paradise Gardens. The absolute place for a relaxing beach holiday. It's a gem set in the middle of a coconut palm forest. Also it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and road noise. Tanks to Alex and his team for their warm service, guidance, outstanding cleanliness and delicious food. We can recommend Paradise Gardens with full confidence.

Here, we can actually book a two-bedroom house, not just a room or a small villa. Thats a very convenient concept as a family can be easily accommodated in the house. It really feels like a home-away-from-home as these houses are set fairly apart with no intrusion into our privacy. As I understand, all houses are sea-facing and embedded in lush green tropical greenery. But as there are no free lunches, this bountiful nature comes with its own set of challenges. We regularly encountered some unfriendly creatures like bugs, fleas, mosquitoes and ants (least bothering of all). So,as a word of advice, do carry your mosquito repellent with you. The view of the Arabian sea is very beautiful. The sound of the crashing waves can be enjoyed round the clock from the villas. It feels humbling living as one with nature. The property appears to be on the expensive side, but a back of the envelope calculation shows its value for money in comparison to booking multiple individual rooms. Marvellous property with a few cons which I would also like to mention: Vizhinghim beach is not as clean as a traveller coming primarily to enjoy the beach would expect. From plastic wastes to even human excreta devastate the experience. This is not the hotel's fault but can they take this up with the local body? …

Had a wonderful 4 day, 3 night stay at the beginning of January. Great place for a quiet get-away. Beach is gorgeous and very quiet, almost deserted. Incredible the staff, led by Alex. Highlight of our stay was dinner on the beach as the sun set!

The villas of Paradise Gardens are pure bliss and the perfect place for a long time out but even for a short stay. We regret that we stayed only two days before returning back home. If we visit Kerala in future again we keep this place in mind as our first choice to stay. As a family we stayed in the house with two bedrooms which allows beach view from all rooms. For a couple the white house is perfect with bigger rooms and even more touch to the surrounding natural setting. Both villas have two floors while the ground floor has all doors and windows to close and lock and the upper floors offer the amazing feature of living in the open and still being safe within strong stone walls. Style, decoration and furniture are perfectly matching and quiet unique. The team of friendly and helpful staff is another highlight and i must particularly mention the food which got prepared exactly as and when we ordered. A special thanks to the chef. Our dinner we had right on the deserted beach with a postcard sunset. The whole experience at Paradise Gardens was fantastic. Keep it up !…

I have stayed at Paradise Gardens atleast 7 to 8 times, each time I travelled to Kerala, and stayed there for atleast a week. It is a lovely place to live and experience the natural beauty of the coastal parts of Kerala with the sight of the turquoise blue sea and clean beach which is only accessible to the guests and that is a luxury at a competitive price. This individual house-like resort is perfect for a young couple or anyone who wants to live closer to Mother nature as most parts of the building has big wide windows or doors for more air flow and sea's breeze to cool you down. You will definitely feel the raw fragrance of the sea and plants nearby. A perfect place for eco-friendly tourists. It is a safe place to live as its caretakers are vigil, active and ready to help anytime for anything. It is quite close to famous places like Kovalam, Poovar beach and is easily accessible to the Airport, Trivandrum capital city and Kanyakumari by car and public transport. Main advantage is privacy. The place is quite away from the road due to which there will not be any disturbance of vehicles' honking or lights or any disturbance by the public. Every room will have the beautiful view of the sea and trees around but still quite secluded. Though it might be quite a challenge for the disabled people in terms of accessibility, it is a wonderful place for celebrating Nature and honeymoon. I loved each time I stayed there sometimes alone or sometimes with my friends. Especially go to the beach in the nights to gaze at stars and moon, you would feel like you are in a lonely island or beach. I will go again to stay there whenever I will go to Kerala. Thanks for its creative owners and its special hosts and caretakers.…

It is fascinating place, 100 mts from a very nice and quiet beach, to which also accesses a close luxury hotel. It's a two-storey house built in a beautiful architecture. The idea is to be in total contact with the nature, so that the openings to the outside are devoid of windows and mosquito nets. There is only a mosquito net (actually a little bit small and shabby) only on the bed. You must be available to sleep practically outdoors, with the positive (sounds, smells, etc.) and negative sides (humidity, insects, animals, etc.). The really negative aspect, which is not reported anywhere, is that the structure is not accessible by car: after leaving the car at the beginning of a coconut grove, to reach the structure you need to hike a trail walk 200-300 mt, with its ups and downs and its jumps, very inconvenient for not young people and especially at night time. This, if you do not want to go around Kovalam (which however is 8 km away), is a problem at least at arrival and departure.…
