They describe themselves as ‘your home abroad’ – this is no lie! If you want a place with extremely friendly, helpful, ever-attentive and yet laid-back staff, somewhere you can relax (even if you’re not staying there), a place to swing in a hammock amongst the palm trees, to sip a delicious juice, feast on some traditional Keralan cuisine (the prawn...

Set in beautiful gardens, with great proximity to the Varkalan cliffs and beaches, this divine "home" hotel greets each guest like a welcomed family member. From arrival to departure, Jayan and his delightfully theatrical and talented team provide all one could need from basic airport...

The friend who first recommended the Shiva Garden told me it was the best place in India to chill out. I rolled in on a late night train. The ambiance immediately set me at ease. Wooden tables set in a candle lit garden under a canopy of palm trees. Since that first night I have returned three times and find...

We arrived at Shiva Gardens after a long drive from Kottayam. We pulled up at the door and it looked like somewhere you would go on a school trip. After reading the reviews on here, I thought I would give it a chance. However we were taken out by Jayan to the garden...well I wouldn't quite call it a garden...

The property is maintained by Jayan, who is a thoroughly hospitable person. This is a place where you get real value for money and a great staying experience. Jayan is a...
