Had a great time at this bed and breakfast. The owner was very friendly and attentive. The bed in the cabin was just right and the best part was seeing the smiles on our girls faces when they seen all of the deer.

I booked this place on a recent trip to Ruidoso and Alto N.M. Because I had never stayed in a B&B, my wife and I asked the owner, Hal, if we could look at our room. He showed us to the "Siesta Suite". As soon as we walked in, Hal started to describe his place. The house had a foul...

My family and stayed here a few years ago and had a wonderful experience. When we went to rent again, we had to cancel, as one of our family members was diagnosed with cancer. The previous owner was unwilling to refund our money, despite it being within the agreement period to do so. The bad reviews on this site are...

Breakfast is good and that's where I'd stop. Freezing rooms, doors that won't lock, fireplaces that smoke the entire trailer house. Hot water is warm. Cramped rooms. We had multiple rooms because they had over booked, so I can attest to all, but 1 lodge. It looks great from the outside. Also do not drink the water and bring your...

Hal has always treated us like family. His breakfast is one of the best around. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away for some peace and quiet. The deer in the back yard are beautiful as well as all the landscaping around.

My grandmother paid for a vacation for the family but unfortunately had to cancel because of health problems within the family, one of which was cancer. Hal Robinson, the manager at Casa De Cocinero was contacted WELL in advance of their 30 day cancellation policy stated in the contract on his website. He has decided to keep her money. Not...

We have booked here before, and had enjoyed the accommodations. We booked again this year. Due to a serious medical condition, we were unable to make the trip, and notified Hal Robinson 35 days in advance, which meets their policy for a refund (30 days). He is refusing to refund our money. Don't ever book with these people, they have...

Casa del Cocinero is an ideal, warm, familiar place to stay in the Ruidoso-Alto, NM, area. We stayed for the holidays at the "Guest House" which is the biggest cabin of the b&b, and I must say it was spacious enough for 8 people, including children and elders, and a pretty confortable place to stay. We felt like home because...
