It was over my husband's birthday weekend last year that we stayed at the pretty little bungalow of Maidstone! The owners, Gita and Mohinee were lovely hosts - attentive, friendly and such interesting conversationalists! The room was very comfortable, neat and homely. The living room/ dining area that we spent a large part of the weekend in the fun company...

Maidstone Home-stay which is also known by its traditional name Virjee Cottage, is a landmark home-stay in the hill- town of Panchgani, a mere two hour drive from Pune. It's run by the owner family, two Parsi ladies, Gita and Mohini, who do an absolutely wonderful job in maintaining this historic and rather quaint multi-room bungalow. Guests are often vetted...

5 of us (including a child) stayed at the Maidstone managed by the Virjee family from October 2 to October 5, 2014. Staying at the Maidstone positively added to my experience of visiting Panchgani. I am, generally, not a big fan of visiting the hill stations in Maharashtra since they are (1) no where close to the genuine hill stations...

We too had been to Maid Stone on this weekend. Being a long weekend, we thought of spending the weekend together with my cousins. My cousin had visited the premises earlier and he had liked the place. So, he had done all booking. When we had reached there we were told ‘Red Room’. Once I entered the room it was...

The whole point of going to Panchgani for me and my family is to get out of Mumbai city life and breathe the clean unpolluted air in quiet and sylvan surroundings! We do NOT want the fancy trappings of a 'mod' hotel or the same air-conditioned recycled air we get in the city. And so we chose MAIDSTONE! Obscurely tucked...

Virjee's Maidstone given me some of the best memories which will be cherished for a lifetime. Right from the hospitality of Mrs Gita, to the ambience and the simplistic yet comfy and beautiful rooms. Everything was simply awesome. One most important attraction which has bought me here is the FOOD. The food is just deliicious and finger licking good...!!! The...

Dear Traveler friend who is reading this ...get ready for a candid review. Maidstone is NOT a hotel. So don't have any standard expectations like a mechanical smiling receptionist...cheerful bell boys waiting to be tipped!!!.and quiet efficiency of any-star hotel...it is a home or rather like your own weekend place maintained by a caretaker. Due to being a home and...

Well I am writing this in deep disappointment, because of the treatment met out to us . Last time we had a much better experience with Mohini aunty. Thats one of the reasons we came back. Else we generally stay at Dhun Heta who has a beautiful property and extremely warm treatment, which is how a homestay should be. Well...

Maidstone is a homestay located off the main road of Panchgani and a couple of minutes down from the bustle and din of the town centre. Maidstone was the family home of the Virjee family, and currently it is managed owned and operated by Gita Choksi, who lives on the premises with her aunt and cousin. The main building at...

Just back from a weekend at Maidstone. It’s a good property with beautiful view. However extremely disappointed with the service and hospitality given the moneys they charge. When we asked for rotis at dinner, we were served bread and were told by Vinod the house-boy that rotis are limited @ dinner. How can you have a limit of 2 rotis...
