We had a wonderful experience at the Mahendra Prakash Hotel. Being a heritage hotel , it is well maintained and exudes of warmth and personal touch. It has a serene and very peaceful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hukum Singh, always makes it a point to connect on daily basis and also meticulously guides on the various places to visit. Prabhu and Bupendra are the guys who take care of food and service and do a wonderful job making sure you are comfortable and respond quickly to anything you require. Staying at the hotel gives you the old world haveli experience, blended with modern facilities.

Mahendra Prakash is a heritage hotel, true to its description. It is centrally located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony from where the City Palace was clearly visible - beautiful in the night when all lit up. The room had all modern amenities whilst at the same the well-preserved traditional structure and artistic decor was evident throughout the buildings. The owner is friendly and we had an opportunity to chat with him. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff provided excellent service and it was a privilege to have our meals in the beautiful gardens.

We loved staying here, it’s a serene, stunningly beautiful old style Haveli. Our room had all the modern conveniences, a romantic balcony overlooking the gardens and swimming pool. Great location with friendly and helpful staff - only one small niggle in that breakfast could be improved. However, would highly recommend staying.

This was one of our favourite places to stay in the 2 weeks we spent in Rajasthan. The hotel is small and very beautiful. It's a family run place and it definetly has a warm and welcoming feel. The gardens and pool area are immaculately maintained and provide a lovely retreat from the busy world outside. Rooms are decorated in heritage style, really lovely. The bathroom was clean and well presented with plenty of hot water. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast both mornings. The range of food was terrific and the staff were so friendly and accomodating. Its location is ideal, easy walk to the lake and sites of udapair, Highly recommended

Hotel Mahendra Prakash was a lovely experience. Their hospitality right from the owners to the staff is heartfelt and touches you deeply. As if their only intent is to make their guests happy and comfortable. This is a heritage property and maintened very well. The rooms are beautifully done. The exteriors are also tastefully done up. Every morning a santoor player plays beautiful music next to the pool and this is such a beautiful feeling. Words are not enough to describe it. The food is simple and tasty. The location of the hotel is fabulous. Very close to the city palace and lake pichola. The airport and railway station is very close too. If you are looking for a peaceful haveli stay, surrounded by humble staff you will not be disappointed.

Lovely place to stay in Old Udaipur. Nice rooms, fair price and top notch service. We would stay here again. My only recommendation is that they serve brewed coffee at breakfast instead of trying to upcharge for it. Instant coffee is pretty lousy to a coffee drinker. Other than that the breakfast was tasty and diverse.

This is still a family run hotel and that shows in many small things. The owner and family are present and make sure their guests have a good stay and get a homey experience. Eg I didn't like the feel of the mattress of the room we got and they immediately showed me 2 other rooms where I could try the bed and select one I liked better. The key features that make it worth staying here are the proximity of the palace and walking distance to the lake and old town, clean swimming pool, interior garden where you can relax and have a drink after a long sightseeing day, and good rooms.

This hotel is by far the best hotel we have stayed in on our tour of Rajasthan. It is a small family owned hotel, very well located for the lake. There is a lovely lady who is constantly cleaning the hotel common areas who always has a smile and says hello. The staff in the restaurant are super friendly and chatty and the food at breakfast and dinner is the best we have eaten. The rooms are comfortable with nicely decorated rooms. The pool area is clean and we enjoyed a cooling swim. It feels like a family home with furniture and decor that you might expect to find in a home. Reception staff are welcoming and friendly, we would highly recommend this place and we wish we could stay longer.
