Varanasi is Indian culture in the raw so it was nice to escape to Hotel Ganges View beside Assi Ghat. We had a comfortable upstairs room with access to large public balcony with views over the Ganges. Lovely vegetarian dinners served as a buffet, all guests dining at the same time. You can easily get a boat in front on...

There is so much going for this hotel, its location, the charming authentic decor, the lovely terraces filled with pot plants but a few things would make it so much better. Firstly cleanliness, our bathroom was never properly cleaned and the bed linen could have been better. There seemed to be a large number of male staff mostly hanging around...

Delightful, characterful, ideally located, warm/welcoming guest house, enriched by fine art, amazing flowers, great views and lovely outside nooks and crannies to watch and read. Would've been an easy straight 5 stars with hot water for showers.

Great old building with beautiful and fascinating rooms. Lots of indoor and outdoor public areas to sit and read or take in the view of Assi Ghat and the Ganges beyond. The staff were very warm and helpful. Our rooms were clean, large and charming.

At first we thought "Gange view" .. It might be like all other hotel where only few rooms have a view and we will have the worse view ever but no. When you open your door you have a nice view and the gange and nice little terrasses on every floor of the hotel. The hotel staff was nice. The...

This small and charming hotel is right on Assi Ghat, and is a perfect location, but is wonderfully quiet. You know that traveling in India can be exhausting, so having a peaceful haven which provides a good night sleep is worth finding, it is an oasis in the frenetic pace of Varanasi. The hotel is beautifully decorated with Indian artifacts:...

The hotel offers a very good service, is superbly located and has a nice rooftop restaurant with a nice view of the Ganges. Our room was very small but had all we needed: relatively clean sheets, hot water and silence at night. The hotel also arranged for a us a very good car service to Bodhgaya within a reasonable price....

Okay hotel, but nothing outstanding - very disappointing breakfast. We appreciate they have might have problems catering as many people will chose different times to eat breakfast, but all we got was plain yogurt, cornflakes, bananas and toast and jam, tea and coffee. No juice, no hot food. In fact, it was so disappointing, we went out for breakfast on...

Artfully decorated and superbly located, we strongly recommend the hotel Ganges View. Everything is done with taste and style. There are vintage Indian objects - engravings, sculptures, lamps, metalworking - placed throughout the rooms and common areas. While our room was small, there was a comfortable little salon area right outside our door, on an enclosed patios. The patios, some...

This is a quaint, unassuming hotel on a quiet side street in very noisy and busy Varanasi. Our room was basic, but very charming. There was even a little area to have tea or a snack al fresco with a good view of the Ganges right outside our door. The food at the restaurant is served buffet style and is...
