Hardest bed in India. A yogi's bed of nails would have been more comfortable. Also, the linens were very poor quality and even had holes and tears in them one day. Blankets do not fit the bed either. Poor quality toiletries as well. The hotel had some nice attractive features but they don't make up for the horrible discomfort of...

This heritage hotel was recommended by our travel company but found it a bit too basic. The bed was the hardest I've ever slept and with sheets that didn't quite fit the bed with the result I woke during the night lying on the bare mattress. There was no shampoo and hot water took several minutes to come through. The...

I loved this place. I had never been to Varanasi and had heard it could be beautiful but intense. The hotel was an oasis of peace and beauty just steps away from Assi Ghat and the beautiful Ganges. It felt like we were staying in a home of Indian royalty, the art work was amazing and there were altars with...

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed. The beds need improvement. and linens had holes in them. Mattress are a bit hard, but the rooms were nice and large and beautifully appointed. It's like staying in a lovely home. Staff were not so friendly, a little aloof. Would stay there again. Beautiful library and great selection of books. Owners...

Stayed here for 2 nights last week (October, 2013) with my boyfriend. We had a very nice stay. The place is very clean and the decor is amazing. Tons of art and interesting antiques; you can tell the owner puts a lot of thought into the decor. Also enjoyed the restaurant where you mingle with other guests. The location is...

What a nice guest house in Varanassi. The place and the location just in front of the Ganga river and the Assi Ghat. In a calm and nice part of Varanassi. Beautiful rooms, decorated with lot of taste, different one from the other, (paintings, color of the room, furnisher...) and a nice view on all the city of Varanassi you...

Staying in Ganges View was a really unique experience. The property is extremely well designed and furnished, everything is really charming and reminds the old era of traveling. We asked for a room overlooking the Ganges and it was beautiful and spotless clean. Also common areas are very pleasant, especially the terrace at first floor and the restaurant hall. The...

I'd echo a previous reviewer who described this as "a calm oasis in a hectic Varanasi". It could not have been more quiet at night and the only noise during the day was from the odd cow or bell. Our room had a shared (large) balcony that over looked the river but still felt very private. The outside terrace was...

With eight trips to India / Sri Lanka between us we have never written a negative review about any property before - so unfortunately here is our first! After reading the reviews we booked here for three nights but we were made to feel so unwelcome / uncomfortable and found the revolving reception staff (particularly one) so unfriendly and unhelpful...

A ideal hotel to experience the charm and hospitality of a bygone era - a fort on the banks of the river Ganges with the atmosphere and history of a graceful past. All the rooms are tastefully appointed with modern amenities and the staff efficiently look after your needs. The menu is not elaborate but offers a unique blend of...
