It depends which kind of property is preferred, a five star, 4 star or others. tariff for triple occupancy may range between INR 3000 to INR 10K. Varanasi is not a very vast city, most of the things fall in a radius of 5 KMs. Uber and Ola cabs are convenient. Other modes of transports like shared elctronic autos and manual rikshaws are very economical and conveniently available. Cabs can be hired for all day or hotels can also provide cabs. Govt. authorised vendors rae available for Airport pick and drop. Enjoy Varanasi !

Ghats are about 20mins (by trishaw) if crowds are not heavy. A walk thro' the old town is recommended AND necessary to reach the ghats. We visited swimming ghat & cremation ghat - enough!!

Ghats are about 20mins (by trishaw) if crowds are not heavy. A walk thro' the old town is recommended AND necessary to reach the ghats. We visited swimming ghat & cremation ghat - enough!!
A guide is ESSENTIAL or you will get lost in the old town. Some say Ganges boat tour is best way to view ghats - think it's more a "touristy con"??- river was too high & prevented boats when we visited. However, I suspect we saw more in greater detail on foot rather than from a boat
