I personally have been returning to Sri Bungalows for almost 15 years and have stayed at the property at least 20 times. I have taken numerous friends and family members to stay at Sri Bungalows, some of whom had never been to Bali before. They all commented on how wonderful their experience at Sri Bungalows was.

The first thing I notice is that the staff have remained the same over the 15 years that I have stayed at the property, which is a great indication of their loyalty. The staff at Sri Bungalows are very welcoming, caring and always greet you with a smile. The gardens are spectacular and well maintained. Both pools are very nice to swim in and the food from the restaurant is always clean and well prepared as well as great value for money - particularly when you feel like a poolside snack! If you start to miss your regular 'cappuccino, flat white or latte' then I'd recommend going to Watercress cafe next door.

Sri Bungalows is very well located and set back far enough from Monkey Forest road that you don't hear any of the traffic. Monkey Forest road is the heart of Ubud, with lots of great cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, markets and day spas to choose from (including our favourite Milano).

The rooms are always clean, safe and adequate for the price you are paying (and the prices have hardly increased over the last 15 years). The bathrooms are a little bit dated but still adequate. I'd recommend getting an upstairs room, either a deluxe or super-deluxe, but if you are travelling on your own and being a bit more budget-conscious, the standard bungalows are fine. You might hear some noise from your next door neighbour though and I'd recommend getting one of the upstairs bungalows near the first pool.

Thank you to Wayan and the staff at Sri Bungalows for being very understanding during the need to cancel our recent booking for 8 people due to Corona Virus. We were devastated that we haven't been able to travel to Bali this holidays but know that we will return soon.

I highly recommend Sri Bungalows in Ubud and look forward to returning as soon as we are allowed to travel to Bali again.

Terima kasih banyak Sri Bungalows, teman teman saya!

I had an enjoyable stay at Sri Bungalows, a quiet and peaceful property located on Jalan Monkey Forrest, one of the few roads which can be very busy at times, especially in the afternoon when tourists arrive from outside Ubud to visit this small town.

I had booked a Super Deluxe room and specifically asked a room upstairs for the view. I occupied room 44 which is indeed on the 2nd floor thus with a better view on the rice field. The room was spacious, kept clean every day and furnished with a comfortable bed, a vanity desk and a sofa on the large terrace. There's also a smaller terrace at the back of the room with a view on the main swimming pool and the mountain.
As breakfast was included I took it at the hotel's restaurant, next to the reception and the small parking area at the entrance to the property. There are plenty of nice restaurants very close to Sri Bungalows. I recommend Wildberry 18, some 100 meters from here, which serves both indonesian and japanese specialities.

The front office staff can help book transports to visit around Ubud or connect with the airport of other places in Bai or even rent a motor bike, a great way to discover the surroundings of Ubud, in my opinion much more interesting that Ubud itself. The Neka museum is definitely worth a visit. The Ubud market, opposite the town's palace is a good place for souvenirs and clothes. Arrive preferably in the morning.

Sri Bungalows is a good address in Ubud to relax after a busy day touring.

In a great location, set back off the road with plenty of shops and restaurants. The entrance didn’t look great on first arrival but once you have checked in (welcome drink and friendly staff) you are in a calm stunning setting looking over rice fields, pool and fish pond. We also saw a couple of monkeys in the fields in the morning. All staff are really helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast cooked to order and made us up a take out breakfast on the morning we had to leave early. Rooms are large and clean albeit a little basic but the location and the balcony make up for it. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Guys, beware of this resort . Unreliable, unprofessional and unethical. Had worst experience with Ms Novi who was the one handling our reservation .
I am a senior cabin crew from an established airline and this is my most horrible nightmare experience.
Air Aksata overall, Firstly there is no wifi in the room, the shower and washrooms are broken and you will have bad drainage smell.
It started with , me and my husband were on the flight preparing to land in Bali, luckily we had internet inflight , 2hrs before landing , Ms Novi whatsaped my husband and told him that the booking has been cancelled from their end as they have maintenance issue of the Air conditioner .
My husband requested her that the booking and payment is already made and this was a very short notice to inform us about cancellation.
After several requests, Ms Novi helped us to book a place for one night at nick pension ubud(two separate beds for me n my husband on honeymoon).and we did not complain for it but accepted as these unfortunate situations can happen.
The second day we were moved to Sri aksata where for service recovery she offered us a 30min cheapest massage voucher and a bigger room which we did not demand or request for. All we wanted a normal standard room.
After going to the bigger room, the shower was flooded ,drainage was blocked , and wifi was unavailable. Maintenance guys were in our room for hours and they declared that the shower can’t be fixed. The same was informed to the reception but unfortunately nothing .
We came from trekking and were so tired and dirty , all we wanted was to basic shower but was unable to do so.
We requested her so many times to help us , but she said the hotel is full and can’t do anything.
After multiple requests and when I helplessly started crying at the reception out of frustration,I was offered a room with two separate beds where shower was working.
We were on a honeymoon and this is the worst experience of my life .
Also, unfortunately all the resorts were full as it was peak time in Bali in the month of sept .
I messaged her called her multiple times and requested for a refund as even a basic shower or wifi did not connect . She refused and did not answer my calls or the person from the reception calling her . I have attached screenshots too . I was at the reception as that was the only place where wifi was available , so many mosquitoes and insects.
Please save your hard earned money sincerely and spend somewhere else as it’s not worth it.

Not what's advertised. Although in a great location and a hotel with huge potential, it falls short....wayyyyy short. What you see online is not what you get. The hotel is old and in desperate need of updating. The TV is wifi based and did not work. The only location suitable to plug the water kettle in is in the bathroom (less than ideal). The bathtub was dirty and stained, the lampshades as bad if not worse. The towels were also stained and kind of gross. Nothing about this place felt clean. The exterior of the building had lots of cracking and missing chunks of concrete. The rice fields were non existent. Yes, there are rice paddies, but during my visit they were nothing but dirty water. Not a blade of rice. I had booked for 3 days but checked out after night 1. They refused to refund the additional 2 nights, even after speaking with the manager who agreed the hotel was old and in need of attention. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. With a massive makeover this place could be fantastic, but until then, stay away.

We recently checked in to this property, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing.

We arrived an hour early for check in so the room wasn’t ready which is not a bother so we explored the property and went for food elsewhere.

When we finally entered our room, the views were amazing, however despite its neat and tidy appearance and while we generally don't mind an aged atmosphere, the need for upgrading was apparent.

Attempting to cool the room with the air conditioning proved futile, and to our dismay, we discovered a sizeable yellow stain in the middle of the bed. Unsettling as it was, I was prepared to request a sheet change. However, upon further inspection, my husband found a large dark stain close to pillow height, revealing a revolting stain on the mattress—we think it was possibly blood. It seemed inconceivable that housekeeping could have missed such an issue during room preparation. We also discovered the toilet was not flushing correctly.

Hoping for a resolution, we approached the front desk. Despite their polite demeanor, we were informed that no rooms were available due to being fully booked. While they proposed a sheet change, the issue of the contaminated mattress remained unaddressed. Our request for a mattress replacement was denied as they said they had none spare. Despite being fully booked they then suggested an adjacent room, but we noticed a suitcase inside, raising concerns about potential displacement of this guest into our room. This didn’t sit well with us at all and is unfair to other guests.

Uncomfortable with the situation and the lack of ethical considerations, we opted to check out less than an hour after arrival.

Despite having paid for six nights, the property refused a refund. Our online third-party booking platform is currently attempting to negotiate a refund with the property, but they have received no response so far.

This experience was not only disappointing but also raises serious concerns about cleanliness standards at this hotel.

My husband and I spent two wks at Sri Aksata Ubud. The Manager Rai is a great guy who goes out of his way to help guests. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and bathrooms have bathtubs so that's the advantage of a slightly older hotel. It was our second stay and we stayed in our favourite room right near the infinity pool. There are two pools and they are both clean and the gardens well maintained.
The only thing that was a bit of an issue were the monkeys that you have to watch out for. Since COVID monkeys roam further from the monkey forest. If by the back infinity pool you will have sunscreen and food etc taken by monkeys. So you have to be aware. The staff do their best to chase them away but they are monkeys and don't listen. We had an enjoyable stay regardless and recommend.

If you are staying in Ubud, come and check out the Sri Aksata. The location is perfect. Close to the Monkey Forest, Ubud Art Markets and Ubud centre. The staff here are so accommodating and have fantastic hospitality. Make sure you find Agung in the bar, he will make you the best cocktails and Marloen and Maya in the restaurant will cater to all your needs. They always greet you with a big welcoming smile. All the staff here are amazing!
Out the back there is a beautiful rice terrace surrounded by spectacular gardens.
The suite room was spacious, modern and clean.
This is our third stay here and we cannot wait to stay again! :)
