Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Excellent service from first step we arrived. The teams are smiling and greeting us almost all the time. The room is large with really comfortable bed. We sleep like a baby! We love also the bathtub and view from our balcony. The special thing here is the breakfast and afternoon tea. We can choose our own time for breakfast. We can enjoy our breakfast and afternoon tea in our balcony, in restaurant or in poolside. They also have shuttle to center Ubud. Our 2-nights here are really excellent and unforgettable.

Amazing experience! We booked the one bedroom private pool villa with floating breakfast. Amazing view and service, from the moment we arrived until the time we checked out. Yudian (thank you for your beautiful welcome), Dea, Jodi were absolutely fantastic. Free shuttle bus to Ubud central was great (but could be more frequent - my ONE improvement on an otherwise world-class stay). Would definitely recommend.

We had been very much looking forward to our stay at Adiwana Suweta on account of fellow reviewers’ effusive endorsements. And though I would just as much have liked to echo those recommendations, we left this hotel feeling rather torn — allow me to explain why. Let there be no doubt, as countless others have affirmed, that the hotel’s staff are extremely warm and friendly. Occasionally, though, if I can be fully honest, this felt a bit ‘too’ much: by the end of the stay, and it wasn’t an especially long one, we felt a bit drained from greeting every staff member at each visit to the lobby or restaurant. If you are a shrinking violet or want a ‘disappear quietly in nature’ experience, this hotel may not be for you. I know how awful of me this sounds and I do not wish to discourage staff from being warm — though perhaps, for instance, just one member of the team could welcome guests as they enter a space rather than what felt like all members of the team, one by one. I hope this criticism will be taken in the constructive manner it is intended, as I am passionate about making experiences in hospitality as fantastic as possible. Unfortunately, on the first night of our stay there was an incident in our room which staff are aware of and that I will not go into detail about here. This did mean, though, that we struggled to sleep for the remainder of the stay. Although the situation was pretty well dealt with in the moment, I would have liked to see the hotel management take the opportunity to proactively offer some form of good will gesture in recompense. In the end, though, as this was not forthcoming, we had to ask for this ourselves. This was disappointing. Although the hotel manager kindly provided us with a complimentary couple’s massage (which was not great, incidentally), it would have been better if we had not needed to request this, as this is always awkward for guests. Some other quick fire remarks, both positive and constructive: - The bath products are of extremely high quality and smell fantastic; - Several of the dishes we tried, including the nasi lemak at breakfast, we found rather bland. Generally, we found the issue was a lack of seasoning. That said, the ramen was very good and the juices each morning fantastically fresh; - There seemed to be substantial gaps between the shuttles to Ubud centre (as much as 5 hours when I asked), which meant this was not as useful as it might have been. That said, as a cab costs very little this was no big deal; - At the restaurant, we felt a little bit too pressured to write a review. Upon looking at the Tablespoon restaurant’s TripAdvisor page, it was obvious this strategy has been efficacious — but please be mindful that multiple staff requesting we review the restaurant is quite intrusive and can make some guests uncomfortable, particularly if they do not think the place merits a high calibre review; - About 30-40% of the bottles of water provided to guests in rooms cannot actually be opened; the lids do not come off. Presumably this is also quite wasteful as, unless smashed open somehow, these bottles presumably cannot be used. I am sure guests will have raised this before and management should change the supplier or product used, as this is irritating for guests, particularly as tap water is not potable; - Although we were unable to sleep for aforementioned reasons, beds and linens were comfortable and of high quality; - The large day bed by the pool in our villa was too dirty for us to lie on; - Whilst the ‘complimentary’ photoshoot for guests initially felt like a nice touch, this is something of a money-maker considering that no one is going to spend upwards of 30 minutes of their holiday taking photos unless they can then have copies. 1 photo is included, but this amounts to nothing from a shoot that I understand can last an hour or so, and involve multiple group members. I was very surprised to discover that 10 photos would cost us some £30, the equivalent of 2-3 restaurant visits in Bali. Might it be better to provide this service on a genuinely complimentary basis and allow guests to tip the photographer instead? She was great. All said, thank you for having us. I hope this feedback is well-received by, and useful to, the Adiwana Suweta team. Finn and Roberta
