An enchanting place in the cultural heart of Bali. Spacious clean rooms and centrally located with friendly and helpful staff.
A beautiful garden with small Balinese temples invites you to linger. We have been there several times. For us there is no other place to stay in Ubud

We stayed 3 nights at the Guci Guesthouse during our trip to Bali last year. We enjoyed the traditional Balinese style bungalows very much. The rooms where simple but well decorated and each room had an comfy outside deck with a lounge sofa and wooden chair, making it very easy to chill out, relax, enjoy a book and think about what to do/see in Ubud. Each morning we were brought a beautiful, light breakfast and coffee. There is a nice little garden area in the Guci compound and only a few bungalows so you really feel at peace with few guests staying there.

Our only complaint was that it was a bit of a stroll, 25-30 minutes to get to Guci in the evenings after dinner. The sidewalks are in bad shape in Ubud now so it is very important to have a torch with you and to keep your eyes on the ground to avoid stepping into massive potholes.

We really enjoyed staying at Guci Guesthouse in Ubud and would probably stay there again when we return next time. On the basis of our three good day/nights there, we recommend a stay at Guci Guesthouse, just outside of the main centre of Ubud, if you don't want to be so close to the main parts of the city.

Our 6 night stay in Uli and Nyomans guest house was, as we expected it based on earlier recommendations, very nice and a perfect start for our 2 weeks vacation on the island. The bungalow and the very green garden give an amazing traditional feeling on the one hand but on the other hand are also very clean and spacious. The city center of ubud is in 20 minute walking distance but delicious restaurants, tour guides, atms and supermarkets are just around the corner.
(For those who don't want to walk, scooters and drivers are available at nearly every corner :-))

If you stay at guciguest house you should definitely ask the owners for some special things to visit because they gave us great advices based on their long experience and those from previous guests.

We would recommend everyone who want to discover the historical temples and beautiful hikes and waterfalls in the heart of Bali to stay at this quiet and lovely place!

If you stay in Ubud this is a MUST! ♥
This is really a piece of paradise on earth. Hidden in a beautiful garden are a few bungalows and a duplex with open balinese architecture. Ulli and Nyoman are awesome hosts and make your stay unforgettable. It doesn't matter if you need a driver, a tour, informations.... they have for everything the perfect answer.
You will get in the morning a yummy breakfast in the middle of the garden. surrounded by nature your stay will be relaxing and wonderful.
We were here the second time. First as a couple at our anniversary, we got flowers on the day and a nice note. This time as a family of 4 with one toddler. And it was perfect.
Please come and get your own memories! ♥
We recommend them highly.

Guci Guesthouses consist of three bungalows and a duplex. We had one half of the duplex, which sleeps 5. The house is all open, no front door. On the lower floor is an open kitchen, a dining table, a day bed, one bedroom with a kingsize bed and the open-air bathroom. On the upper floor is one huge room (also open, no windows) with a kingsize bed, a single bed, a sitting area and an enclosed bathroom. The furniture is Balinese style and very tasteful. Due to the open nature of the house all kind of creepers and critters get easy access. Also, during the night every sound can be heard and it can get very noisy. For three nights in a row the neighborhood dogs gave extensive concerts.
The house was relatively clean, the cooker in the kitchen did not work.
When travelling with small children be aware that the staircase has open steps and no banister. Also, the kids' bedroom is downstairs and the parents will probably sleep upstairs. I would not recommend such an arrangement for a family with children below the age of maybe 7 years.
The guesthouse is located somewhat outside Ubud. Walking distance to the Monkey Forest, at a very leisurely pace, is about 20 minutes, to the Royal Palace maybe 40 minutes. Next door is a very reasonably priced laundry. Across the street is a gas station and a well-stocked small supermarket. There are several restaurants nearby. We liked Pizza Bagus best. Very good food, reasonably priced, friendly service and free Wifi.

Overall we enjoyed our time at Guci guesthouses and would stay there again.

This was the best Hotel we could find in the whole Ubud-Area. Ulli and her husband Nyoman welcomed us open heartedly and made our holidays unforgettable.
We originally just wanted to stay 4 nights, but we liked it so much that we decided to stay double the time.
The houses are very nicely furnishured, the bed is incredibly comfortable (for Indonesian standards it’s awesome), everything is so clean (the cleaning ladies are very friendly and kind and make the rooms fresh and clean every day, you can have new towels and bedsheets whenever you need some), also the breakfast is very delicious and decorated with lots of love. Ulli is always willing to help her guests out, she is like a travel agencie all by herself, thanks to her we found some nice places around Ubud and made some low budget trips. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!
All in all was this just beautiful, the place and the company of our new friend Ulli and Nyoman just made the perfect holiday for us!
We will definetely come back one day! 👍🏻

We rented a half house on two floors in balinese style. Great quiet and clean place in a wonderful garden. Ulli and her husband are very friendly and helpful. We had also a kitchen so we could cook our dinner ourself. The breakfast is included and every day a new delicious surprise. The place is very closed to restaurants, shops, ATM, ...

There is nothing negative to say about this place. The Bungalows are beautiful, Ulli an Nyoman and Daniel are very friendly and give very good advices on what to do. The whole place is a romantic garden and the Bungalows are open with no windows.
Best Place so far, I can only recommend it.

Stayed last year, 2013. Quiet as on outer edge of Ubud can walk to most attractions. Disappointing that there's no pool on premises good that can use pool at Agung Raka which is really close. Nyoman can get a little familiar if English is your first language so girls be careful, he's a flirt whether your partner is there or not
