Stumbled across this amazing place with waves lapping and warm welcoming smiles all round. Cheap, clean rooms and bathrooms and value for money. Stayed much longer than expected. Food at attached restaurant surprisingly good.

Hotel owner asked me to cancel my booking due to room repair. I booked room few months ago, and now have to look for new hotel. I have 54 days before my booked date, but most hotels have no free rooms now

Having travelled on short notice, we found that this place was very pleasant for a short stay. while the facilities weren't that great, it was great value for the amount that was charged. It's located right on the beach and is situated on the main road itself. The staff were very attentive and helpful and managed to accommodate each and...

Our stay at MBR was for a total of 3 nights. When we arrived we had just finished a trip through hill country; Ella, Nuwaraeliya etc. We were pretty tired after a long drive and as we drove up to the gate to MBR, we were surprised of how big it was. It consisted of two big wooden doors that...

Happened to be here on a sudden decision made. Rooms are of fair quality but not the location as a whole. Rooms have a wonderful view towards the sea. Not good at all to order food and you need to bring food from outside. Nice beach but not safe enough for bathing.

In a word: Don't. If you do, you've been warned. Without doubt, the worst managed, sloppiest pit in Sri Lanka and I've stayed at over 100 places in SL. I've actually stayed at MBR a few times, just to observe how many things overall are out of order, with indifference by the motley crew who run it. I wish I...

A wonderful location close to the beach, and very quiet. The sea round the hotel has turtles which could be seen frequently, at first I mistook one for a person swimming! The hotel has a great sea view but is close to the road, however we didn't seem to hear the road and only the waves. The family is very...

Booked for 4 nights here but could only manage to stay for 1. Very disappointed, the room walls were covered in dirty marks, the bed linen was stained but the worst thing about the room was the oppressive smell of damp. This place is a real dump, don't spoil your holiday by staying, I wasted £90 by pre paying. It...

We only realised how bad this place was when we left for another hotel which was beautiful yet much cheaper. We expected this to be a simple room for the price...but there' simple and there's shabby. This I'm afraid was shabby. Peeling paint on the ceiling. No wardrobe..no drawers...no bed side table...no luggage rack...but strangely a dining room table that...
