Stayed in the so-called VIP (7th floor), room clean and quiet as I enquired. Breakfast doesn't meet the hotel star ranking... personally, there was nothing for me to eat. Bread not fresh, table distance is too close like having meal with strangers. Doesn't recommend taking breakfast there!

The room is clean and quiet. Restaurants are fantastic! Also, " Happy Hour " at 7F, offering free wine and community space, is really thoughtful. Hotel is fairly close to the Love River and tourist attractions. One can plan the trip easily by staying here.

Stayed for one night on business. Room is rather spacious and service is excellent. Location is convenient with convenience store and banks within 5 mins walk. There is a VIP Lounge where they serve free drinks in the evening.

My title may be slightly unfair for this is a nasty little practice undertaken by many upper end hotels - the use of “Superior” as a room description when there are no Standard rooms. Yet superior is a comparative word that at the very least implies it is better than another type of room. With this hotel, there is another...

Stayed here because it is located near the Love River and I wanted to run alongside the river in the evenings like I used to when I lived in Kaohsiung. The hotel is ok, rooms are okay. Breakfast, although a decent spread, seemed chaotic. There's a McDonald's next door and a couple of other eateries. I think the subway station...

After a quick trip on the HSR, this was my accommodation for the night. Large, clean room, friendly staff -scored an upgrade! - close to shops the river and parklands. As this was part of an organised tour, I can't comment on value for money but it's worth it.

The room was comfortable, in fair price. A little small room though, very clean and tidy. Close to subway station so reasonable to go around. Free drink of beer and wine offered for staying there. Many groups stay at lounge with dozens of empty beer bottles, so may be better to fix a rule, only few bottles per person. It...

Highly recommended hotel for couples. I love the fact that it is easily found (5m walk from exit 2 of mrt station), our room has one shower room and one bathtub (spacious toilet), free laundry facility (with dryer) with washing powder provided and friendly staff. Only thing that I can think of is that it will be even better if...

Highly recommend!! Less than 10 mins walking distance to the closest MTR station, very close to the Love River and all it's associated shopping and restaurants. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The self-service laundry service provided us a way for cleaning our clothes. There is a happy hour at the lounge on the 7th floor. You can...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Trendy Chic-Chateau de Chine Kaohsiung The Chateau de Chine Kaohsiung recreates a contemporary ambience, carrying on the brand spirit in Southern Taiwan by providing a refined place of rest for travelers. The exterior of the Hotel is designed by famous Japanese architect Tadashi Yamane, who employs the interlacing of long light tubes in a full glass-panel to create a modern, high-tech ambience. Through the light beams in the nighttime, the brand new Chateau de Chine stands as a shining star on the bank of Love River, a boutique hotel leading the trend in Southern Taiwan. "Chateau" is the French word for "castle," a residence for the noble, while "de Chine" refers to China. The logo design originates from the coat of arms used by elite families or individuals in Medieval Europe to symbolize distinguished family history or power. The coat of arms logo of Chateau de Chine embodies Chinese elements such as dragon marks and tian yuan di fang (the orbicular sky and rectangular earth) to manifest the beauty of east meets west. As a boutique design hotel, Chateau de Chine Hotel provides complete and refined services for guests on business or leisure travel. ... more   less
