n november I stayed for 3 weeks at Ujamaa. I was there to visit my daughter who is volunteering in Arusha. After a warm welcome I felt immediately at home. Although my age is a bit higher than the average age at the hostel, I enjoyed very much the atmosphere between the guests and the management. Together, we did some...

This is my 2nd stay at ujamaa. The food wasn't quite as good as I remember but the facility is very clean and the staff is always super friendly. For the price you really can't beat it. I would definitely stay a 3rd time. Thanks gaspar

Ujamaa provided a safe and trustworthy environment in relative comfort. The staff is friendly, though the owners are not as responsive as one would hope. The fellow guests are impressive, friendly, and helpful. I recommend staying there.

I had the most amazing 2.5 months at Ujamaa Hostel. The owners were super friendly and helpful and the projects all hugely worthwhile. I met other volunteers from all over the world whilst staying at this hostel, many of whom will remain close friends for many years to come. An excellent and affordable choice for anyone wanting to become involved...

Ujamaa Hostel is one of the best Hostels in Tanzania. They have great food and experienced staff. The rooms are moderate, but clean and cozy. The people are helpful in getting around the area and know what to do and where to go. Great spot for young people to mingle!!

I stayed at Ujamma for 6 weeks this past summer while I was volunteering at a local school. The staff was so friendly and made me feel right at home. Travelling as a young, single female can be a bit intimidating, but I felt completely safe at all times. It was inexpensive, which as a volunteer on my own dime...

Many have stayed in this place, many have left. The question posed is "why did they leave?" Who would leave such a place? The staff, Jenny included, all spoke impeccable english. Furthermore, the location, wow! The owners of this hostel have really outdone themselves, making the only rule of property (location, location, location) a number one priority. This slightly out...

I've just returned from a 5 month stay in Arusha Tanzania where I spent the majority of my time staying and volunteering through Ujamaa! Staying here I truly felt at home, it's like one big family! The hostel staff were very helpful. The hostel mommas, Jenny, Agnes and Sarafina are always on hand to help with anything and couldn't do...
