I was really looking forward to my weekend in Arusha and chose this hotel as in the past have stayed there and enjoyed my stay. But disappointed this time as there was no hot water for my shower and I spite of complaining still no hot water. Was given the lame excuse by the plumber/electrician that the boiler does not... this hotel has seen better days. the service was fine, the room was adequate and clean. We had hot water which is something to be grateful for. The food in the restaurant was ok but not great. Service was perfunctory, not really enthusiastic

Stayed here before and after climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Perfect setting before and after the climb with Alpine Ascents. The included morning breakfast was personalized with so many options that could be cooked. The laundry service was excellent after a long week on the mountain. The staff was very helpful and professional.

Was there for a family vacation/wedding. Big hotel, big/clean rooms and the friendliest of staff ever. Infact i had prebooked my room to share with cousin and split the costs. But last moment he didnt turn up but the hotel were very gracious to give me the same room at a lower rate (even though they were running full!). Later... More

First impressions were promising as we were checked in by our helpful guide. We walked to our room through the tranquil internal garden, an oasis of calm in crazy Arusha. We had a room at the rear of the hotel, overlooking the swimming pool, quite a trek from reception. An extra bed had been shoe-horned into a so ewhat overfurnished... More

Our Safari Company, Hoopoe, booked us here for our first night before our safari. We had a great room overlooking the pool. It is an historic hotel over 100 years old and was the hotel the cast from the 60's John Wayne movie Hatari stayed in. They named the bar the "Hatari Bar" which we enjoyed a drink in before... More

After two long and one short flight and many hours in airports, in all 38 hours, I finally arrived at The Arusha Hotel at 2:00 am. Service, starting with the check in and ending with the check out 10 hours later, was excellent. Every staff member was helpful, ready to go out of their way and cheerful, making my stay... More

We spent one night at the hotel before starting our safari. Our room was clean. Bed was good. Service was great. I enjoyed the tour of the garden. Food was good and plentiful. Our room was quiet in spite of being on a noisy street.

We stayed here for two nights between safaris. It was a good place to relax. The best thing about it was that it was very central and close to the Central Market. A good pool and garden. It was great to stay close to the town.

This is an hotel that I have known since childhood. It evokes memories of distant days when a safari to Ngorongoro or the Serengeti began and ended at The Old Arusha Hotel. More recently it has been a place where you would look forward to arriving after a dusty drive and a hard day on site. With this in mind,... More
