The problem in Tanzania is that most things are overpriced, and what agitates us most is that a lot of people, including hotel staff, are quite unfriendly. To be offered inadequte accommodation, then have to upgrade at an exorbitant cost and suffer bad service is not good. But, once upgraded and ignoring unfriendly staff, our stay was reasonable. NOTE: Do...

We stayed at Impala Hotel for only one night as the hotel was extremely dated - decor was from the 70's and little has been done to maintain since, room was noisy, was extremely overpriced and food was terrible. Would recommend staying somewhere else during a stay in Arusha.

We stopped here on the night before our safari and it was great. The beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets. They had four different restaurants and the food was pretty good. Overall, good place for a stop over.

We spent a week or so touring the Safari route and staying at the Serena Lodges and after that, Impala was a HUGE let down. But let's not make this relative - in absolute terms, the Hotel was below par. First, we were placed in a room which hadn't even been cleaned. After we threw a fit we were upgraded...

We stayed at the Impala Hotel for one night as part of a safari tour that we did with Kenyan Adventures and Beyond. We're not sure what rate our safari operator paid but the list price is in the region of $95 per night for a double room. This seems a little expensive compared to international standards but is probably...

My stay at the Impala was booked through the company that I used for my Kilimanjaro climb. I did not compare the Impala to any other hotels in the area; nor did I do much research on the hotel prior to going as it was my option for my trip. This is a "high-end" hotel, which means that very few...

Three couples in our family stayed in three rooms on the fourth floor for two nights prior to a safari. The price was right, and we felt that the positive Trip Advisor reviews outweighed the negative. Therefore, we booked. A summary of our experience: 1. The shuttle service from Kilimanjaro airport to the Impala hotel for $15 each is a...

Very nice hotel with a choice of 4 restaurants. Room was good quality with a round bed! This was ok for us but would not be good for anyone taller than 6ft as it was quite small. We had a very bad waiter in the evening which spoilt the evening

After reading some bad reviews I was a little worried, but whe we arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was nice, the rooms were decent and the food was good. The pool was a good spot to relax and there are nice views of Mt. meru. A good value for the money.

The design of this hotel is very strange and hazardous. There are rooms that do not have access to the outside, i.e. both your entry door and your window opens to a corridor. I had never seen this before. This means that there are rooms that are in the middle of corridors! the most strange thing about this is that...
