This review is for the spa only as I didn’t stay in this hotel during my stay in Lhao Lak.
I chose to have the Freedom of Life treatment which consisted of a body scrub of 60 minutes and a body wrap of 60 minutes too for 1700B. I had understood that the treatment included the use of the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room for free but I was told this came as an extra and had to pay 250B more. As I was not happy the lady offered me 30 minutes to use the sauna and steam room without extra! Very appreciated. I was given towels. The sauna and steam room were lovely, clean and smelt really nice. After 30 minutes the lady took me to the treatment room. Beautiful room with high wood structures that give the room a wow effect. I was given a gown and disposable nickers. I had the body scrub first. This was done very thoroughly and vigorously. The scrub was made with mango and the whole room smelt delicious! As some parts of my body were uncovered I was cold and asked the lady to turn the air con off, which she did immediately. Time flew by and it was time for the body wrap. After a quick shower and new disposable nickers the lady applied some sort of gel/cream on my body and wrapped me in a kind of plastic wrap. The smell was divine and I was left there to relax. It was warm, the relaxing music, the birds singing and sound of the water outside all made me fall asleep and the lady came back to wake me gently and helped me up to the shower. After the shower I was asked to put my pants on only and was given a gentle 5 min massage to apply body moisturizer. Again it smelt lovely and my skin felt like velvet and smelt nice. I felt so relaxed and happy. Once I got dressed I was taken to a quiet relax area to drink my tea (a sweet but spicy ginger tea).
So overall very pleased with my treatment. If I was in the area again I would not hesitate to get a treatment there. The massages and treatments are amazing and very good value for money. The use of sauna and steam room are good too but make sure you use them before your treatments not after. One thing I would mention is that my scrub and my body wrap were done to every body part, including butt and breast. It was not a problem for me but be aware you’ll be lying flat on your back with your breast being massaged and exfoliated.. all done very professionally of course. Once one body part was finished the lady covered it with a towel anyway. I strongly recommend the use of the spa at Khao Lak Resort and Spa as it was an amazing and relaxing experience!!! Thank you to the lovely team and Fon who gave me a very lovely body treatment!!! :))) I will come again.

We've booked 7 days in Bhandari and ended up staying for 3 weeks, we couldn't find a better place to be. We were 10 designers studying and working remotely from the resort, it had quite a solid wifi and the staff gave us all the facilities we needed. Because of covid and travelling restrictions we had mostly the whole hotel for ourselves, and while continuing our trip in Thailand we still haven't found a place like Bhandari not even while paying more.
Food Breakfast was included and really good, way higher than average for this price. The food at the restaurant was very good, especially the Massaman Curry, and Su, Dan and the staff at the restaurant were lovely and caring. Prices in the menu are higher than going out to eat local streetfood (160thb vs 60thb), but the cleanliness, service and attention paid off and we ended up most days having both lunch and dinner there.
Rooms Very comfortable, received daily cleaning, and water and coffee refills. Had direct access to the pool, which was incredible for a morning bath straight from the bed.
Surroundings The gardens were lovely, beautiful, very quiet and surprised us with some local animals hanging around. We found incredibly quiet spaces to read surrounded y nature and peace. Pools were very well maintained and with good installations. The buildings in the hotel are beautifully crafted. The resort is right in front of the beach, very recommended to see the sunset and enjoy a swim.
Staff Very hard-working, friendly and charming. We were one of the few guests at the resort during our stay and they really made us feel like home. They were very flexible with our weird requests sometimes. The hotel and the restaurant managers were also very friendly and welcoming. We constantly requested them to extend our stay last minute and they adapted and welcomed us with a smile and didn't request any payment in advance for that. We had no problems with language and could comfortably communicate in English with staff.
I don't have much to criticise from Bhandari, we really felt at home, and they deserve more people to go there during this weird pandemic months. It is a great moment to be there and enjoy the quietness and tranquility of such an incredible resort ith few guests, we feel very fortunate and grateful.

Went here as the second hotel of twin center holiday. Had requested a room on a high floor not on the ground floor and we were given this. The room was large and the balcony was next to a tree where we enjoyed watching the wildlife. The pool area was peaceful and relaxing. Next to the hotel is a taxi rank. There is a small road that leads up to shops and restaurants. There are some nice places to eat but it lacks atmosphere. We preferred the other area of Khaolak that was more like a little town. We would walk there in the evening and get a taxi back or walk along the beach and go there for lunch. The Tui rep said it was too far but it only took about forty minutes. Call in at the market where there are loads of cheap cocktail bars which are very strong. The highlight of our holiday was a trip to Koh Sok and we also got a taxi to some waterfalls. If you like lizards we saw some very large lizards at the back of the hotel. Also some beautiful but not as large ones along the beach to the left. There was also some large bats roosting in one of the roof areas. You know your in Thailand when you stay in this hotel and that is what we wanted. I thought it was stunning. There are lots of modern hotels in the area if that is your preference. Like every where we went the staff here were fantastic.

We stayed in a Deluxe King size room with a terrace overlooking a beautiful lily pond, that attracted a variety of birds and wildlife. The grounds & pool area are immaculately kept and daily housekeeping in the rooms. All staff were friendly & helpful, a great team that was ably led by the manager who was very proactive with the guests (but special mention for Dan who always had a smile on his face & happy to chat). There was always a great choice for breakfast, and different options on a daily basis - always fresh. The pool area is delightful - kept clean & again the green surroundings were kept beautifully, with a Pool bar open for lunches with 2 happy hours daily. There is a separate bar for evening drinks & a restaurant for evening meals if you wish to stay within the resort - although we never used this as so many options locally & in town to tempt you away! The lovely beach is a short walk away (100m) where there was always space to find a quiet area to yourself. Great place to watch the sunset from. This is a great place to stay if you want a peaceful & relaxing holiday with traditional Thai values.

We stayed for a week in february 2020. Arrived on an early flight and were at the hotel for 9am. check in was quick and easy and we were able to have breakfast whilst we waited for our room. At 10.30am we were taken to our room were informed that the standard room we booked was not ready so they upgraded us free of charge us in a better room which was 902. The "room" we were given was a deluxe thai suite which looking on booking.com was £100 more a night. It was absolutly amazing. with a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath. it is right at the back of the property and we could lay in bed and see squirrels,bird and bats out of the windows. The resort itself is small and wonderfully landscaped. The breakfast was good and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. The resort is across the road from the beach which is quite and unspoilt. definitely go to the beach for sunset it is one of the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. there are some bars and restaurants about a minutes walk from the resort but I would recommend walking the 5 minutes up the hill to the main strip where there is a much better choice at cheaper prices.

Stayed in one of the bungalows which was perfect for us. It was spacious and had all we needed. It was cleaned every day by Namwhan who was very friendly and did an excellant job. The breakfast choice was amazing with a wide choice of traditional Thai fare plus fresh fruit, eggs to order,bacon etc for a "Full English", toast,pastries,pancakes, juices etc. Our thanks to all the restaurant staff involved especially Dan, Baz and Bo for making us feel very welcome. The location was ideal being close to the beach and within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. It was very relaxing and quiet prehaps for some looking for nightlife it might not be suitable. Would highly recommend 'coconut beach' a short taxi journey away. This is a very well managed resort and our thanks to all the staff, we will endeavour to return!

A little piece of heaven. Unless you REALLY have to be on the beach this place is perfect! literally minutes to the beach & 5/10 mins walk up to the town for bars & restaurants. We booked a Thai style suite (only 3 of them) as we were celebrating a landmark anniversary & an equally large birthday for me. When checking in we were informed we'd been upgraded to one - little naughty as we'd actually paid for it.But all was forgiven as on arrival at the suite (903) it had been beautifully decorated with flowers and towel art. On arrival for breakfast on the first morning, gave room number and Ban knew my name straight away. After that morning never had to give room number or our drink preferences, Ban remembered, amazing!! The whole stay was very nearly perfect, but only 2 tiny niggles spoilt giving 100% A bug repellent in the room would have spared the 2 of us some lovely attention from insects & secondly, we were warned that the A.C unit could leak, so why is there a wardrobe right underneath it? 2 days before our return we found our clothes soaking wet, but luckily had time to put everything out to dry - not sure what others thought though!! The room is plenty big enough to rearrange the layout of the furniture to prevent this happening in future.
All in all one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in for service, friendliness and quality. Thank you!!

Just returned from one of the most relaxing holidays ever. The Bhandari Resort and Spa lived up to it's excellent TA reviews. This relatively small resort is set in glorious tropical gardens beset with fish ponds and traditional bungalows. The evening walk back to our accommodation through the scented trees was idyllic. This is no large, characterless concrete resort. The pool is surrounded by palms which, along with the usual umbrellas provide some welcome shade from the sun, when needed, as well as homes for the local wildlife. The staff are courteous, cheerful, and ever helpful - always happy to teach some Thai language. The breakfast buffet offers and excellent variety of Thai, European and British fare along with copious supplies of tea and coffee and enables one to fill the tank for a full day of activities. Although not directly on the shoreline, the beach is only a 3 minute walk away through a small park where, depending on the state of the tide, there is plenty of soft sand to enjoy. For those wanting to sample a more active night-life than the hotel bar and restaurant, the main street of Khao Lak is a short 10 minute walk away past numerous eating places and shops. Many of the hotel guests are returning customers and I certainly hope to join them next year

On my business trip to Khaolak and looking for the suitable hotel to stay one night, I booked standard room and on check in the reception told me that I got upgraded to pool access room.
Check in under control of covid-19 protocol and subject to vaccinated or covid-19 tested within 72hrs.
The accommodation well maintain and full furnished, just open the sliding door and jump to the pool.
I like the pillow and sleep well.
Breakfast is highlight as during the control of covid-19 then not many guests in the hotel, the waitress inform me that I can choose any items in the menu and unlimited refill, the taste is great and I like all dishes.
Just walk 100m to Nangthong Beach and enjoy at black beach, just 200m walking further to take a photo of Khaolak Light Beacon.
Overall experience is great and recommended to enjoy holiday experience here.

We’ve just got back from the Bhandari resort and we had a fantastic time. We enjoyed every moment of it!
Our room was a pool access room. Although we didn’t spend much room in the room/pool because we were on loads of excursions, the room was clean and comfortable. The maid cleaned daily and you had the option of when you wanted towels/your bed sheets changed. This was a nice touch. Aircon was important and worked on all but one day after a minor hiccup. Having the pool on your balcony was brilliant, of an evening we would sit out on the decking and dip our feet in to cool them down.
Food wise, you have the pool bar and Le Siam restaurant. If you like Thai food you’re in luck, it’s amazing. However, if you decide you want something different they do offer Italian dishes, burgers and sandwiches. They have an extensive cocktail list which my partner made her way through, I just stuck with my Chang/Singha. Don’t forget happy hour, two for one cocktails and buy 2 beers get 1 free. Food was some of the best we tasted in Thailand. So cheap too! Breakfast was also fab, again there were options of Thai dishes as well as typical breakfast options like fruit, bacon, egg etc.
We saw a lot of wildlife in the hotel grounds. Plenty of birds, which, if you like birds like I do, is great. Some really interesting species in all sorts of shapes and colours. We were frequently joined by comical myna birds and after enjoying a tropical storm in the shelter of the pool bar, saw a Javan heron in one of the many ponds dotted around. The ponds are home to lots of fish including 5 big catfish in the pond where the pool bar is. When these get fed, the Asian water monitor comes out. A good sized 3 foot lizard, but don’t worry, provided you leave the animals alone, they leave you alone.
Finally, we have to mention the staff. All of them are a credit to the hotel. During our first week I locked our safe and the gentleman from reception was on it straight away and it was sorted within 20 minutes. One day the aircon stopped working and again this was dealt with really quickly. Special mention to Dan who works all over the place, especially pool bar and Le Siam. Always helpful and polite, he really added to our holiday and demonstrated that famous Thai hospitality. We really enjoyed Dan’s company and friendship and were sad when we left!
It’s a really nice hotel, a bit quieter than normal I’ve been told but you’d expect that post Covid. We had a brilliant time and I’m sure you will too!

You can do either. We always pay has we go along saves mistakes at end of holiday. We once received a other rooms bill but it soon was sorted. Staff excellent. Booked to go back in February cannot wait 4th time.
