Surprisingly spacious bedroom with dressing room and huge bathroom . Large private porch at the front with bench and table. Very friendly, helpful receptionist . She booked a two day trek from hotel with MACHETE tours , which was excellent.
Breakfast was included but was disappointing. All fried eggs are cooked about 7.00 am and just left in the container until end of breakfast at 10.00😱😱
Baan Bussara isn't central but if you want a relaxing chilled few days after chasing around this is the place for you.
They have a nice pool area and should think about doing bar snacks all day.

At first glance this hotel located in a very quiet soi but near the center looked old and poorly maintained. Yet, very quickly I realised that it had a lot of charm. Ying the receptionist has been extremely helpful. My wooden bungalow had a large and comfortable bed. The terrace was pleasant. The pool was small and the water quite cold at this season but it is a perfect place to meet people and have a chat. I decided to stay 5 nights instead of 3 and discover the region on scooter. Fantastic stay.

This is second time in this charming and quiet hotel. It survived the pandemic crisis and still offer one of the best option for accommodation in Thailand as far as I am concerned. It may not be the most luxurious hotel but for the price and considering the beautiful setting, the very friendly and helpful staff, the nice enough breakfast and the pleasant chalets , I can only warmly recommend it. Just be aware that booking.com way over charged compared to the walk in price.

I stayed here for 4 nights I booked through Agoda and got a great rate. I had a bungalow the bedroom was huge, the bed was very comfortable it had a separate room which had chairs a bench, kettle and fridge. The bathroom was lovely and had a great rain shower which was fantastic. Had a nice size Television with a couple of English Channels. Had great free Wifi and a lovely porch to sit out on and was spotlessly clean.
Checking in was easy the girls spoke a little English. It has a lovely pool and free breakfast which was ok you have this overlooking the pool. There was a fitness centre there that had a bike a stepper plus other excercise equipment. I had a couple of meals there which we're really nice. It was very quiet and any time I needed to go anywhere reception would call a tuk tuk which cost 80 baht no matter where I went. It was only about 10 mins from the action. I would stay here again and I recommend this place.

We recently stayed at Baan Soontree, Chiang Rai with our family of four. Our stay was only for one night, but we wished it was for longer. The hotel is just lovely and has a relaxed and very Thai atmosphere about it. The rooms are a combination of small one and two level separate bungalows. They do have a family room, but it only has bedding for three people. For our family of four people we booked two rooms side by side. These were not adjoining because they are free standing. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious. They have a large bathroom and adjoining bathroom area with a large fridge and a bench. They also include drying racks in this area.
The beds were comfortable - firm but not rock hard.
When we arrived we had lunch in their small restaurant. There is a choice of about 7 meals - all Thai options. Beer and soft drinks were available.
The pool closes at 8pm and we had a late evening swim just before closing. The pool area opens to the breakfast area and restaurant. It is a really nice space for sitting around relaxing.
We booked Baan Soontree on agoda.com and paid about $34US per night per room inc breakfast.
The breakfast is a good selection of cereals, toasts, fruit, juice, eggs and a number of Thai dishes. Everything was clean and well presented.
The staff have very limited english so communicating with a little difficult. They were polite and helpful.
The hotel is a little way out of the centre of town (as with many CR hotels) - but it is worth considering this over a standard motel style of place.
Nice atmosphere and peaceful.
We would stay here again.
Caroline.

Great rooms and swimming pool, very quiet a little out of town of my taste. Basic breakfast great clean rooms.

If you are looking for a relaxed vacation then this is ideal.

When travelling with two children it's not suitable as they need things to keep them busy, everything is a drive away.

Nice place would recommend

Slightly off the beaten track on Soi Prassamit, the Baan Soontree Resort Hotel is a pretty new business venture. I stayed in a lovely spacious bungalow with a memorably comfortable bed and luxurious cotton sheets. I haven't slept so well in months.

On the first night I was the only guest and on the second night, only one other bungalow was occupied. The swimming pool was nice and clean and big enough for a decent swimming session. Breakfast was taken on the terrace next to the pool - eggs, fresh toast, juice and coffee with fresh pineapple. More than adequate.

I found a small lane on the other side of Nong-Bua Road which acted a shortcut to the centre of Chiang Rai. Near the bus station there is a big open air food court with local entertainment on the stage and a lively night market nearby. From the bus station I caught a bus up to the Golden Triangle where I looked out from the lofty viewpoint over the Mekong River and the place where Laos, Burma and Thailand meet.

The Baan Soontree Resort (NOT Resot) deserves more guests and if visiting Chiang Rai again I would most definitely stay there.

We chose Baan Soontree for their competitive price, excellent reviews and attractive looking rooms. We were not disappointed!

Location was perfect for us- out of town but only 5 mins from the bazaar in a tuktuk

Staff were quick to assist us and really helpful, and kindly assisted us with booking a tour for the day.

I concur with other reviews that the rooms were spotless, thoroughly cleaned each day. The bungalow rooms are well designed, with a small utility/getting ready room and and separate bathroom. All windows and doors had mosquito netting and the aircon units were perfect so sleeping was very comfortable.

Breakfast was ample and the pool was excellent too. Definitely recommended!

We stayed her 3 night. the hotel was booked via Agoda. Excellent rates.
Our bungalow located next to the pool was very clean and comfortable. This hotel is located in a very quite place. To reach the night market or any other places dowtown, people at the reception will call for you a tuk-tuk. It will cost you 80 baths and 5 to 10 minutes driving.
WiFi is free and high speed.

This hotel is a bit outside the centre of Chiang Rai but nicely calm and clean, with generously sized suites, good beds with mosquito netting, tea making facilities and well working showers. Only one member of staff seemed to speak some English, but we had no problems communicating our needs and questions. Wifi was free.
We did not use the swimming pool as it was raining, but enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the main house. Room service was fast and very welcome on our first day when we arrived tired and wet. Good value hotel, though probably would not stay for more than 3-4 nights.
