Converted school, large clean rooms, quiet; Good city location; very good included breakfast; a homey experience,2nd visit; Nice owner; they do everything well; Parking isn't great but it is tight everywhere in that part of town
I was looking around this area for a place to stay and this nice property was so inviting that I knew I had to stay here. They were full for the night but was available for the next day and I just grabbed it. The path leading to the rooms is surrounded by plants and trees giving visitors and guests a relaxed and calm atmosphere. There are bicycles which guests can loan for free and a communal room with microwave oven, refrigerator etc for the guests to use. Guests have to remove their shoes outside the communal area before heading to their rooms. The room itself was clean and lovely! The breakfast spread was better than I had expected and there is a self-egg-cooking area. Guests are expected to clear their own used items and place them into provided bins after eating. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because of the non- soundproof room. I was awakened many times in the night as I could hear noises and people talking. Although it's a nice place to stay, it may not be suitable for a light sleeper like me.
If I make it back to Chiang Rai, I will stay only here. It was an amazing experience. Rooms and bathrooms were updated and lovely, breakfast was amazing, and the hosts are absolutely helpful and friendly and speak English. One of them arranged for the massage school across the street to open for our group on a Sunday morning! Wifi worked, and you can see a lot of the things to do in Chiang Rai by walking distance.
I have stayed here for 3 days from Oct 17 to 19, I left the place on Oct 20,2018.the place is quite expensive compare to other nearby hostel or hotel, but the homely ambiance is worth the price. If you book with them upon arrival you'll paid 900 but with agoda they offer a quite very competitive offer. The following good points I am have encountered.
1.the owner Khun KOong, she's very accommodating, she might not answer all your questions since shes also a busy Manager and owner, yet she'll come out here way to smile and accommodate your requests. Even when you call her on the phone, she would answer positively. 2.housw keeping staffs from Laos do not speak English but they are completely nice and clean the room well. 3.rooms are all well take care by the two staffs from laos. I have to mention their nationality so that people will know that being hard working people and being nice does not depend on which country you came from. It is in the heart to serve the people who trusted you to serve with, like the guests. 4.the place doesn't have all the amenities other 3 stars hotel have yet their rooms and beds are all competitive enough that you could say, I'm OK here than with the hotel. 5.breakfast is not as so many choices compared to a hotel yet good enough to fill your hungry stomach in the morning and it taste ok for me.
We arrived at night and the owner welcomes us and explained about the rules and breakfast. She also informed us where to have dinner near to guesthouse. The room is enough spacious. Nice garden and interior design of the cafe is also nice. They also have free bike to ride. Our guide said the location of this guesthouse is good, near to night market. Since we only stayed one night and it was raining, we didnt have much time to explore the area. The check out time is quite weird for me, since they didnt come to see us and check our room. There was nobody at that time. Our guide had to call the hotel and informed them that we were going to check out. Then we only asked to put the key in the receptionist. I think this guesthouse is self service for check out and breakfast.
