A comfortable resort which is a short stroll from centre of the city. Very scenic setting with nice pathways and well kept grounds. Lovely ponds throughout the property. The bed was comfortable but the rooms seems a little dated. Good restaurants overlooking the river.

We stayed for five nights and loved our time at the resort. There's not much to do in Chiang Rai other than relax but there is the night market which is very tatty and the weekend food market. Bt 100 will get you a taxi to the large shopping mall which has an excellent range of

Dear balihappy56 Thank you so much for taking the time to post your Review on Tripadvisor, and for your kind words. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Legend. Chiang Rai itself is a quiet town and really a jumping off point for local excursions into the naturally beautiful and culturally rich surroundings - or even trips to nearby Myanmar and Laos. Chiang Rai really appeals to people who want to unwind and de-stress from modern life as well, and we are developing a number of initiatives to make The Legend into a destination in its own right and to encourage Guests to stay longer and enjoy relaxing and unwinding in the Resort. We have just started a Sunday Afternoon English Tea with live music and "real" English scones and jam and a weekly Hill Tribe Market, where Guests have the opportunity to buy authentic Hill Tribe products, and there are several more initiatives in the pipeline. Soon we will be offering optional Transfers to the Night Bazaar and weekly Walking Streets in our own fleet of Trishaws. Thank you for your very kind comments and I shall ensure that your comments are passed on to the Team Members here, as they will be greatly encouraged. Please do contact me direct if you ever plan to come back or have any friends visiting. I do hope we shall have the pleasure to welcome you again. gm@thelegend-chiangrai.com

Just spent three nights at the Legend. Amazing location on the banks of the river with fabulous possibilities. However, the bedrooms need updating as they are tired. Spotlessly clean but the furniture is worn, bedding and towels have seen better days. The bed was hard and very

Dear Q1218IDsuew Thank you for taking the trouble to post your Review on Tripadvisor. Guest feedback is always very important to us and your comments have been noted. We are currently undergoing a rolling "renovation" of all of our accommodation and this includes renovation of all furniture as well as updating of all towel and Linen stocks. As far as the mattress goes the comfort or otherwise of a mattress is always highly subjective. Some people prefer hard mattresses and others soft, so we try to satisfy the middle ground by using medium - hard mattresses. I am sorry if that proved to be unsuitable for you but it does alert us to the fact that we should perhaps buy some soft mattresses for some accommodation so that Guests may be accommodated, as far as possible, according to their individual preference. Thank you for staying with us, and I am pleased that, overall, you enjoyed your stay and I apologise for those areas where we failed to meet your expectations. Please do let me know if you plan to return to The Legend, by contacting me on gm@thelegend-chiangrai.com

Dear len m Thank you for staying with us and thank you for posting your very kind Review on Tripadvisor. The Legend is located in 7 acres of natural riverside parkland, just a 20 minutes stroll from the centre of Chiang Rai but in the middle of nature. With no building taller than a tree the concept of the Hotel is very different from the modern, "glass and chrome tower" type of Hotel so I am really glad that you enjoyed the The Legend. We try to give our Guests a taste of true nature and the Culture of the northern Lanna Kingdom, so it is not always possible to meet everybody's preconceptions, and I am particularly pleased that you enjoyed it. Thank you once again for taking the time to post your Review and for your kind comments. I do hope that you will return to stay with us again and if you are ever planning to return or have any friends visiting us please do let me know by contacting me on my direct Email Gm@thelegend-chiangrai.com

Staid for two nights - very relaxing directly at the Kok river, and the rooms reminiscent of hotels up in hills. Private swings on the balcony, and a very large shower room. Staff friendly. Breakfast needs a boost (only three types of fruit to choose from - here, in Thailand?),

Dear sol500 Thank you for posting your Review and kind comments on Tripadvisor. I am really glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. The Hotel Owner has nearby land on which we shall shortly start growing our own fruit and vegetables, and these will of course, feature in our Menus and on the Breakfast Buffet. We even hope to start producing our own honey from the same site. As you will have discovered, bean to cup machine coffee is available upon request, but to make life easier for our Guests we will soon have a dedicated bean to cup machine included in the Buffet so that Guests no longer have to request their favourite style of coffee! Our location, in 7 acres of riverside gardens in the midst of nature, yet only a leisurely 20 minutes stroll from the centre of town, gives Guests the best of all worlds - as well as our own landing stage on the River that can be used for boat excursions. I do hope that you may return to enjoy another relaxing break at The Legend. Thank you once again for posting your Review and if you ever plan to return again please do contact me on gm@thelegend-chiangrai.com
