The old wing is quite basic with larger family rooms in the new wing .
The property is very well managed similar to a branded hotel from front desk reception through to the housekeeping staff .
My only complaint is that the shower is not practical and tends to flood most of the bathroom .
The breakfast is above average for a budget hotel .
Overall the Dehug hotel is nothing fancy but offers good value with good service .

Feeling cozy ambience once arrival, staff is very helpful and friendly. Room is good and cleaned. Only one thing should be improved is sound proof of room wall as we can hear lound noise, bank bank once other guest closed the door all night. Choice of beakfast is good and delicious. Location is super convenient, near Singha park, driving only 15 minute. Overall is great experiences.

My name is Nida, I stayed at De Hug hotel on 29 Oct - 02 Nov for 4 nights. Hotel is beautiful and clean. But service is very poor. They assigned our room in front of elevator which is noisy all the day. On the top floor of my room, can heard the walking step very loud. In the room has the small balcony which they install the air condition coil next to the bedroom. When compressor working, it's make a noise again. I want come here to relax but I can't sleep. I asked front desk to change room. They never try to looking the new room and said only we are fully booked. I come to Chiang Rai 2 times a year. I will not choose this hotel any more.

It looks pretty from the outside, and the staff is so lovely.

But the rooms are run down, the floors have very little ventilation, and you can't open the curtains of your rooms because the people on the other side of the yard can see right through hence the room is dark.

The sheets are very thin and old. They need to be replaced, like the pillows. They smelled musty and overused.

Breakfast is okay, but they leave three tea bags inside the teapot, making the teas so dark and strong it is undrinkable. Also, very few options for vegetarians, as everything has meat in it.

The worst is the wifi, though. So frustrating! They say it works in the room, although they must know it does not from all the reviews on here.
They kindly tried to fix it over and over; they came to the room more than once, taking up so much time! and still, it did not work. I wish they would just say, "wifi only works only at reception."

The location is OK, although you need a grab to go to the center.

The hotel was very modern, clean and with a very cool swimming pool. It is abour 20 min walking from the main places.
The breakfast was quite good. The only "bad" thing we can say it is that the bathroom looked a bit old when you compare it with the rest of the room.
I would come back.

I stayed in this hotel by 2 nights during my vacation trip in Northern part of Thailand. Hotel is quite new with proper facilities in that level. It is valuable for money. I chose deluxe room. Room is very large with LCD TV, splited type air condition, refrigerator, and free wifi. One of strong point is their staffs in all functions. They are very polite and have very good service mind that impress me. Despite location is not in Chiangrai Downtown, transportation is not much difficult. Anyway it might more convenience, if you have your own car. Car parking is sufficient. Breakfast is above the expectation in term of quality and quantity. I have some recommendations on (i) the hotel should have curtain to seperate wet area and dry area in bathroom (ii) should give 2 more pillows (one big and one small for each guess deems not sufficient). I will stay at this hotel again if I visits Chiang Rai next time.

Dear Khun Itdhiporn R, First of all, I would like to thank you for choosing De Hug Hotel at your preferred hotel in Chiang Rai and reviewing us on Tripadvisor. On behalf of De Hug Hotel team, it was really delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay and you were pleased with our room, facilities, complimentary breakfast and staff performance. Your compliment is certainly a great encouragement to work even better. In terms of location, it takes around ten minutes by car to drive to the clock tower which considered as a downtown of Chiang Rai. Also, it is very convenient since there are taxi, rot-song-taew and tuk tuk which the hotel staff can arrange for all guests. Furthermore, we appreciate your valued suggestions. Your suggestions, of course, will be taken care of. We are looking forward to welcome you for your next visit to Chiang Rai. Warm Regards, Naddakorn N.

I check in on late 12Apr15
I wear Chanel earrings
Before shower I took it of on my accessories box.
13Apr15 I went out for songkran festival.
14Apr15 I pack my luggage and found out I lost my earring.

I went down to lobby to check out and informed them I lost my diamond Chanel earrings. The staff and I go to the room to checking room again with asking room attendant as well but couldn't find it.

She said she will investigate with her staff and cctv stuff then she called back that it couldn't be found.

I do believe since the first sense of missing my valuable earrings. It's my first gift given by my boyfriend from the first place we date. I am so sad.

The room doesn't have elsafe so it is not safe to leave your valuable items in room because when you far away from home you couldn't trust anyone. On that day we didn't expect room service because there's no such any card or do not disturb sign. The hotel is kind of bed and breakfast as the room features are not standardised.
None of housekeeper ask for cleaning room. We leave our room at around 2pm on 13/4/15 came back at 7pm room already cleaned.

Just illustrate my case to another traveller when you stay over hotel, kindly take cares of your valuable items.

Dear Khun Lalita, First of all, thank you Khun Lalita very much for choosing to stay at De Hug Hotel. Nonetheless, for your mentioned incident, please kindly allow me, Naddakorn (De Hug Hotel’s Managing Director), to clarify it as well as to explain our guest safety and property security system as followed; For your case, we do take care of it seriously. Our hotel manager promptly went to the room to search for your belongings and investigated the case by asking the housekeepers in front of you right after she was informed by the staff but it could not be founded. We, of course, continue to investigate it further after you left the hotel. We have searched every possible place since you suspected one of our staff might take and hide them; the store room, housekeeping carts, all of staff lockers, staff’s belongings and bags. The room was also searched for three times. Furthermore, I personally asked all of staff about the incident, however, nothing was found. Therefore, I gave a call to your mother and explained the process of investigation which the hotel had made (the contact number given by you). I would like to say sorry that there is no safety box provided in each room. For the general practice, the valuable items and important documents of guests can be securely kept in the safety box at the hotel office. We are very pleased to provide this service to all guests. However, thank you very much for your valued comment; we will definitely discuss this issue with my team to solve the problem. The housekeepers have the responsibility to clean up every guestroom daily for both check-out rooms for the coming guests and in-house rooms while the guests are not in the room. It is a general practice to ensure the cleanliness and the comfort of room when the guests return as well as to fill drinking water along with other amenities. Nevertheless, if the “Do Not Disturb” sign, provided in each guestroom, is hanged outside the room, the housekeepers would not get into the room. As for your case, I have asked the housekeepers and found that there was no sign hanging out. Also, I went to check up the sign again myself and found it in the room. However, please accept my apology in case that you could not see the sign while staying in the room. We apologise for the inconvenience that the feature of our room did not meet your expected hotel standardisation. Since starting the hotel project, we intended to offer the guests memorable experiences and to create a differentiation from other hotels. With this intention, it reflects to a unique hotel theme and design; the hotel decoration, room layout, the furniture, and even the fragrance of soap and shampoo. I assure this feedback will be taken care of in order to improve the hotel standardisation. The hotel security system 1. The hotel has only one entrance and most of the guests are recoginsed by the staff since the hotel is a medium size. Therefore, when the outsiders or unfamiliar persons appear at the entrance, our staff is trained to ask them to inform the name and room number of the guest that they want to visit. Then, we make an internal call to ask the guest before allowing them to go to the room. This is the hotel rule and staff must strictly practice it, unless the guests take their own family/friends to the room with them. 2. There are more than 30 CCTVs installed over the hotel; the entrance, the reception area, the hallway, the staff locker, and staff room. The CCTV system is taken care by me in order to secure the safety. 3. The staff is required to put all of their belongings in the locker before working. The CCTV is installed to this area. 4. The staff is not allowed to leave the hotel during the working hour and lunch break unless permission is given. Furthermore, they must do a finger scan every time before leaving. 5. The staff is always searched their bags and belongings by the security guard before leaving the hotel. 6. In terms of check-out process, each room must be checked by our staff to ensure the guests did not forget and leave their belongings in the room. 7. If the guests leave any belongings in the room, the hotel always contact the guest directly and return it to the guests by mail or the guest pick them up themselves. Again, I would like to inform that the hotel considers guest safety and belongings security as our priority from the moment of guests’ arrival throughout the step of leaving the hotel. However, I would like to express my apology to the unpleased feeling you have. If you have any suggestions or doubts, please kindly contact me directly at dehughotel@gmail.com Sincerely Yours, Naddakorn N. Managing Director

We went to visit family during a big holiday and most hotels were full. We booked the De Hug; outside the city center. This is a great hotel for anyone! Rooms are large, clean, very comfortable and a great price. TV only has Thai, but the Wifi is good and I enjoyed a nice hot shower (cool time of the year). We drove and had no problem finding a parking spot. There are lots of good restaurants within an easy walk. The FREE morning breakfast buffet style that has many choices and is kept hot & fresh! If you are driving, this is a great choice for peace and quiet.
