Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ban Jaru is a gem. The rooms are perfect, and it’s located near the central city, but in a quiet block across the street from a beautiful temple. I’ve been here three times. It’s perfect!!!! Breakfast includes omelets, toast, fruit, etc.

I stayed in Baan Jaru during my time in Chiang Rai. It's just a short walk from the bus terminal. It's located on a fairly quiet street. I had quite a comfortable stay in room 2/4. I liked that the room is fairly big and the bed is comfortable. Just need to be careful of the edges of the bedframe as it can be a little sharp. Waking up in the morning is quite a great experience. The moment you open the door, you have the smell of flowers and birdsong. The owner clearly knew what he was doing having flowers growing on the elevated platform. Breakfast is served at 7.30am in the morning where you can ask for eggs to be cooked in a particular style, and that is served with a side of stir fried vegetables. It also comes with toast. You will need to help yourself to the butter and jam from a small table. At the same table, you can pick from a selection of fruits consisting of watermelon, mango and banana. The reception also has a few brochures and posters for car rental and tours. However the scope for tours is limited to the full day kind.

This is a small, maybe 10 room, family run hotel, the family are super nice and helpful. Toddy hooked us up with a local taxi driver who ran us around the must see places around CR for the day, then we spent another day further afield visiting the monkey cave, Myanmar border, Golden Triangle etc. The rooms are spacious and spotless, the bed is comfortable, the shower is hot, breakfast is filling. For 800 or so baht a night it is a screaming deal. Location is good, if you are arriving in CR on the bus the 10 minute walk from the bus station is straightforward.

This hotel was the cleanest and friendliest we stayed in during 7 weeks in Thailand. Excellent location, quiet and with a lovely breakfast. Room was spacious and airy. The street has everything you need within walking distance.

We have nothing negative to say! We stayed in a large double bedroom and it was excellent value for money (granted-it’s low season during Covid!). The room and bathroom were big, clean and comfortable. Location was excellent. Toddy was fluent in English and gave us excellent advice for our travels in Thailand. Breakfast included eggs, sausages, toast and fruit and was all delicious. Thanks for a great stay!

I would totally recommend this family run B&B. My room was spacious and very clean, it also looked fresh and new. Bed was very comfy. I had to use WiFi for work and I can say it was very fast. There's a fridge and a hairdryer inside the room. Staff was very helpful and flexible. Breakfast was pretty good. Great and quiet location at a walking distance from the Clock Tower. I took the bus from the airport which dropped me nearby. Overall, everything was excellent. I doubt you can find a better place to stay in CR, especially for that price.

We were pleasantly surprised at what we got for our money at this superb hotel during our 2 night stay. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, providing excellent information at check-in and always willing to answer further questions. They can tell you how to get a (very cheap) local bus to the White Temple, a trip we really enjoyed. Our room (on the ground floor) was very nice - modern but characterful and clean, spacious and well-finished. The shower flow was good but sometimes only hot enough if reduced a bit. The Wifi was quite slow at times and there was no safe in the room. Breakfast was very good with fruit, excellent coffee, some tasty bread and eggs (ask if you don't want bacon with them) served in a pleasant area by reception. They provided us with a breakfast box on our final morning because we were leaving early. The location is good - just a short walk to the centre of Chiang Rai. We'd thoroughly recommend this hotel as offering excellent value for money.
