The Fern resort is beautiful. Unfortunately when we were staying at the beginning of January the service was so poor that it sometimes made the experience unpleasant. Our room was quiet but as already reported by another reviewer, very damp. Breakfast was OK but skimpy so one needed to get up early. The main problem we have is with staff...

The hotel looks nice (even though they should be careful about the state of the rooms, etc. it is getting old). The service is bad however. There is no management. The service at the restaurant is inexistant. At the front dest, there is a lady who is more concerned about her makeup than answering questions from the guests. At the...

Cottages well set out in very well kept grounds - feel like you are almost in country village with rice- field terraces being retained as part of the grounds. Shuttle service to and from town helpful as resort is about 10km from centre. Rooms spacious and well maintained

I am recommended by a friend to stay here. Even though I come with a high expectation.I'd like to say it is really good. It is my first night of my new year trip. I got the home feeling especially when I see the camp fire. The staff from the reception to the restaurant are all very friendly and helpful....

Accomodated at room 37, our room was situated at the far end of the resort. A blessing for us, as we like the quitness and dislike the eternal clocking sounds of the home made little waterfalls of bamboo in the resort. Unfortunally, the room and everything in it was damp (forget re-using the towels as they simply don't dry, you...

Due to the way i was travelling i only had 1 night at Fern, we arrived late in the day and were leaving straight after breakfast so with that in mind I didn't get to really experience the stay so it probably was a waste of my money... 2 star would have done the trick. The only thing that i...

This is an "eco-resort" - one power point in the rooms (which are specious and well appointed - no TV). Upon arriving we were shown a photo of Brad and Angelina who have stayed there from time to time apparently. It's out of town, but self contained. You need your own transport. It has lovely grounds and swimming pool with...

After a two day rafting trip down the Pai River, the Fern resort was an oasis. Fern is very serene and peaceful, the rooms are like cabins. They were clean, with clean white towels. There is a lot of water around and the mosquitoes are fierce during the early evening. Shuttle service is available to downtown and to the airport.

We motorbiked between Pai and Mae Hon Song (200km+ roundtrip), and stayed here for our overnight. It's about 7km from the town so we stayed here for the evening and ate too. If you stay for more than a day the distance might be annoying. It was such a pretty resort, built on a gentle slope. At the top of...

After asking the price of accommodation we were informed that the room would be 1300 baht and asked if we could inspect the room, on returning to reception and ready to check in the price had gone up to 1500 baht! We said we had agreed on a price but just insisted it now costs 1500, we did not stay,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Seven (7) km out of the town of Mae Hong Son , Fern Resort is nestled in a small valley. Surrounded by forest-covered mountains and rice paddies, it offers comfortable accommodation in unspoiled, yet soothing nature. A small creek and a well maintained ground with rich fauna and flora make this eco-tourism resort the perfect place to stay for nature lovers. We would like our resort to be the forest home for the naturalist who is looking for a peaceful place. You will not find telephones or TVs in your room, but instead you can enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature. ... more   less
