GOOD
2 bedroom 2 floor apartment. Chris the owner stepped in at the last minute when our previous accommodation pulled our booking 2 weeks before due to arrive. Apartment is great, plenty of room for 2 adults and a 10 yr old who likes his own space. Staff are great. Pool area is great.
BAD
The elderly people around the pool made it look and sound like a French speaking version of Cocoon. Didn't get 1 Hello/bonjour in 2 weeks, and God forbid if anyone splashed in the pool, anyone would think one wasnt allowed to splash in water ???

Stayed with my wife and another couple in one of the 2 bed apartments.

The owner and staff were extremely helpful and accommodating after another hotel let us down. They have a lovely pool/bar area and nice food.

The apartment was very good value, clean and has good facilities. Very highly recommended for when Patong opens up again.

This was a good hotel in terms of location and value. It was walking distance to Bangla Road and the beach. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a separate lounge and kitchen area which was also useful. It’s in need of a bit updating but was clean.

We booked here for a week and it was quiet and comfortable.
2 bed room unit with 2 stories upstairs sleeping and downstairs living.
Pool was nice to sunbake and relax around with service from the restaurant.
Rooms are a bit dated but clean and serviced daily.
Staff are helpful and friendly.
Location is a Tuk Tuk ride away from Bangla Road, but a street away from the beach.
Local shops and bars are a short stroll away.
Massage service available behind the Restaurant.
Wi Fi very slow

My family of 4 stayed at Swiss Palms for 9 nights in May 2012. We had the 2 bedroom apartment number 35. A tiny resort tucked away from the noise of the main roads. Beds firm, apartment cleaned everyday. we used the kitchen for cooking breaky daily. Lounge comfy to lay on and watch tv on the rainy day or 2 we had. Pool clean and gardens beautiful.Food cheap in restaurant and massages/pedicure ladies beside Swiss Palms were awesome and just as cheap as out on the main roads. Close to a little shop for any drinks/iceblocks etc. "Sam the Roti man" was outside every night from 5pm till late. and a coffee shop next door who makes awesome coffee frappe's. We stayed in a 4 star resort in Krabi before we came to Swiss Palms and the kids much preffered this small resort. Great value for money.......

Stayed here May 2013 for over a week. 3rd trip to Phuket so had done the "resort" thing and wanted to save money for doing other things. Staff very helpful when booking online via email. Tucked away down a side lane but VERY convenient to seafront and shopping etc and feels like away from hustle and bustle. Loved the location. Chose a deluxe apartment with u/stairs and d/stairs so we each had a huge bed to relax on during day and watch cable TV or read a book or sleep after our walks.
Basic pool was straight out our front door with swim up bar (can be a bit noisy with people walking past),however when you are upstairs it's fine. Mainly family and children so pool can be busy.
Didn't try eating in as prefer steet vendors but staff very friendly. We paid equivalent to approx $65p.n which did not include breakfast as chose not to.
**Be aware that apartements are privately owned mostly so can be furnished differently and not always cleaned to same standard. Also mozzies were fierce at times**
Would stay a few nights again but maybe try elsewhere after as plenty to choose from. If you are looking for luxury or up market maybe look elsewhere as this is basic but really good value.

Beach just down the road, Bangla road about a 10 minute walk. Rooms have full kitchens and comfy beds, and its all very room. Staff spoke good English and were helpful in organising our late flight home (gave us a free night before our flight).

It is hard to know where to start with this wonderful little hotel but I will give it my best shot.
LOCATION
It is located at the northern end of Patong just on the south side of Gracelands. It faces north/south so you don’t get the problem of the blazing sun in the mornings and the afternoons it you are using the veranda. You do get a little sun but it does not last for long.
Just outside the hotel is a pancake lady (yum) and nearby is a small supermarket with limited stock but a little further to the rear ring road are larger mini marts and it is only a 10-15 minute walk to Jungclyon and Bangla RD
Hotel
It is a smallish hotel shaped in a V with one storey, two storey and three storey rooms down each side of the V shape. All open up onto lovely lush tropical gardens. Reception, restaurant and small pool with pool bar are at the front of the property.
There are 8 one and two bedroom units at ground floor level. The two bedroom ground floor units are larger and better appointed than the one bedroom. Other units are double storey with lounge downstairs and bedroom(s) up a very narrow flight of stairs. You can request ground floor units and where you want to be eg next to the pool or away from the pool. When I come back again I will get the two bedroom unit even though we only need one bedroom. There are air conditioners in both the bedrooms in the two bedroom units which, if you left the doors open would cool the lounge and kitchen area (fans only)
We had one of the older ground floor one bedroom apartments that had not been renovated yet however it was very comfortable if not as big and luxuriously appointed as some other units. It consisted of essentially two rooms with an ensuite off the bedroom. There is a small verandah with chairs and table outside. In the unit we were in there was no privacy barrier between us and the next room but many of the other units have such a barrier to give you some privacy. There is a fan on the wall of the veranda which not only cools but helps chase the mosquitoes away.
You then enter the first room which essentially is a lounge room with small kitchenette (sink and two burner cook top). Kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils, jug etc (no toaster so if you want to make some toast either bring a toaster or buy a cheaper here)
The room has a three seater lounge with coffee table, a small dining table with four chairs, cabinet with TV and a nice big frig ( not more bending down on hands and knees to get a beer out of the frig). A limited selection of books are provided if you run out of reading material.
The bedroom is large with a king size bed – pretty firm with comfortable pillows, large wardrobe and safe. There is small dressing table with mirror and drawers.
The bathroom is modern with shower, handbasin and reasonable shelf space together with a toilet.
The bedroom is airconditioned and there is a fan in the living room however the airconditioner in the bedroom adequately cools the front living room. ( I am not sure how effective this would be for the units with air conditioned bedrooms upstairs)
The hotel does not provide toiletries in the bathroom nor does it supply tea/coffee etc but bare in mind it is not a luxury hotel. If you want luxury eg large swimming pools gymnasiums saunas etc then this place is not for you.
There were a number of other rooms that we could see through the window that were larger than ours and more luxuriously furnished however ours was more than adequate for our needs particularly at the price
There is a relatively inexpensive restaurant on site with breakfast starting at 8am—if you are an early riser there are other breakfast places open earlier.
The beach is only a short walk down a laneway on the south side of Gracelands.
The hotel hires motor cycles for 200B per day and DO NOT HAVE TO PART WITH YOUR PASSPORT.
This property would not suit families with boisterous children as the swimming pool is only small nor would it be suitable for party animals.
I would suggest that you try and get rooms on the northern end of the property (towards Gracelands) as the ones around the pool and next to the restaurant could be a little noisy if you wanted peace and quiet.
We had a look at the adjacent Eden Bungalows and Bougainvilla apartments and believe the SPB is far superior
What you need to bring:
Bottle opener, can opener, cork screw.
Decent size bottle of sunscreen as you can buy it here but only in fairly small tubes.
David Grays’ insect fogger for outside on the veranda as the mosquitoes are fairly friendly ( When recently in Koe Samui we were able to buy a lot cheaper than Australia but could not find it in the mini marts of Big C.) Also a decent insect repellent to spray on you.
Small bottle of methylated spirits to use with a cotton bud to put in your ears morning and night and this will dry up any moisture after swimming, showering, sweating etc and prevent ear infections.
You can buy coffee milk tea and a huge selection of continental goods at the Big C supermarket at the back of Jungclyon (sorry about the spelling).
Power adaptor as hotel does not have any—you can buy them in Phuket however I needed to plug a Bali adaptor into the one I bought here to enable use of an Aussie plug.
Tea towel, dishwashing cloth would also be handy.
Be aware that this property is extremely popular and you should book well in advance particularly in peak times or the start of the low season (low prices) we tried to book a single bedroom deluxe unit 8 months ago but could only get the one mentioned above but now I glad as it is exactly what we wanted.
If you have difficulty climbing stairs be aware that a lot of the units have stairs to the first floor lounge area and then more stairs to the upper bedroom area.
All in all a great place particularly for those that like to have more than just a bedroom to spend your time in.

After being recommended to stay here on the forums for our family of four we decided to book for 11 nights. It was within our budget for a 2 bedroom.

The Thai staff were so friendly and loved our two blue eyed kids, 3 and 1 year olds. They went out of their way for you and said hello each time we passed. We used the babysitting service every second night for the kids. With no problems they arrived 10 minutes before we left the room. So efficient, no complaints.

The location is great, next door to a fab little coffee place. Across from Gracelands hotel which we did visit for buffet breakfast. The food was good but we mainly ate out as everything was in walking distance and a touch cheaper.Tuk tuks are available out the front of the driveway and the two Thai guys that are regularly there are very friendly. A convience store and pharmacy in the side street next door. Only 2 minute walk to the beach and about 15 to Bangala road. Tuks tuks were great if you didn't feel like the hike. Or you can hire a scooter out the front too, which we did for a few days.

The pool was quiet my little boy loved swimming everyday and we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. It got a bit busy after 5pm.

The rooms were a good size, cleaned daily too.

Laundry services we found were expensive if using through the hotel but 20 meters out of the resort we found plenty of services that charged 50 baht a kilo! No need to pay extra for ironing either their folding is impeccable. And ready for pick up same time the next day.

On our final day we had an altercation at the resort pool with a "shareholder" of the resort. A few times I took my son to swim the sharholder was sitting at the pool bar with his laptop. My 3 year old has just learnt to swim so he was going under and kicking about, to his disliking told him off once. The last day he yelled at him in French, made him quite upset. I told front desk about it, As I kept my mouth closed the first time. It was really a rude experience, made me so angry. After my husband finding out he went and had some words with him. This is my only complaint and I am glad it was our last day, laptops are not for pools!!! Hopefully they stick him in an office. A few of the staff were standing around listening to what was happening. Only to hear that he makes trouble with everyone. A lot of non english speaking euros stay here too, the older Italian couple i think are regulars were lovely the rest didn't have a smile, say hello with no reply. If you have a family stay at holiday inn, Gracelands or another bigger resort. I loved the staff but won't be staying here again due to being made feel Unwelcomed by the one person who we just paid our hard earned money too! On our first family trip.

We have stayed at Swiss Palms several times - at least twice a year over the last 5 years.
We have normally opted for 2 bed apartment.
We prebooked in advance, agreed which apartment number, and dates. When we checked in it had been changed to another room - not suitable. We had to opt for another room, which had not been stayed in for some time. The room really smelt. It was certainly not up to the standard we had stayed in before.
During the stay the room at no time was there any hot water nor did the water run clear, it was constantly brown. Many of the things that were standard, have disappeared. The wifi was pretty hit and miss. Didn't use the pool, but there had been broke tiles during our last stay. The beds were the same, hard and very uncomfortable..
The whole place felt run down and neglected - a sorry story for a lovely charming hotel that has just been allowed .
What a real shame
