Bad experience time and time again last few years

The place is falling apart badly maintained expensive. And very few people still going there. Visited the place over the years and every time it worse than the previous time. Now the bar is not even open downstairs swimming pool closed up. Guy at reception not welcoming at all. Not worth going there time Patong get another sauna. If the sauna is so disgusting and dirty I can only imagine how bad is the guest house. The open street bar section is open but not busy or friendly either. Walked past there many times and saw no people there. It is just not worth spending your time and money there.

It seems your imagination has no limits. Firstly you write "the bar is not open" followed by "the bar is open but not busy". Very contradictory, which says enough about the rest of your "review". In your place I certainly wouldn't return "year after year" if the place was as bad as you want people to believe.

Really enjoyed my stay

You will always find reviews where people rate a hotel badly as it didn’t meet their expectations, this hotel is moderately priced and had a variety to suit all budgets - so if you want basic get a basic room, if you want lavish - get a suite! I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks in 2 different types of rooms. One was basic room only big superior - which for sleeping in and having the occasional bed day is great. Water pressure and bed were comfortable. AC worked good and it was clean. 2 water bottles daily. You could hear the music from Zag at 10.30pm each night which didn’t bother me at all- it simply reminded me that I had to go have a beer :-) The next room I stayed in was the Michelangelo suite- which was a step up - more spacious and some more updated decorations. I couldn’t hear the music as much in this room. It is also included in sauna, breakfast for this one. Rooms were as advertised and I was satisfied with what I paid for what I received - altogether rooms were clean and worth what I paid. Now onto the bar downstairs - great place to meet people as I’m not a sauna person - I had many great evenings of conversation with people from all over the place - prices reasonable - Mai works hard behind this bar and is always smiling- please tip them! Chart and Paul work hard to being all of these services together and it’s great to see that after covid they have been able to keep the dream alive and hold onto a venue that provides good quality where you see many places closed shop for good. The staff are very good with recommending things too so I leveraged off their advice. Massage across from the main entry is great too and a hairdresser across from blue dolphin massage is great too! Breakfast was awesome! As I was having dental soft food was a must and the team were very accommodating. Location is the best of this place - Otop is about 15 minutes walk and that’s strolling, Bangla is 5 minutes, beach is 10 but 5 if you go down beside the Tiger restaurant shortcut. I have to recommend this place as a place I will stay at again if I come back to Thailand/Phuket. Yes the indoor pool is closed, but in a city where the beach is a stroll away and outside- I would say it was not the best part of this hotel. The rooftop spa is a good quick spot to get wet if you need it anyway. Thanks to the Aquarius team for my stay I had a wonderful time at Aquarius - if you are looking to book this hotel and see a negative review - it would be because they were being unreasonable as there is always 2 sides to every story. This was mine - I will leave it there - book it - you will enjoy yourself - whether you want a chilled break or a busy one - this place offers all of it. Thanks again team !…

Adjust expectations

Not a luxury resort while definitely having a staff that's 5 star. Shout out to "Audi' and 'Chart" who MADE my one week stay. While outdated the place is clean and the housekeeper conscientious about his job.

Again a good stay at Aquarius.

Again a good stay at Aquarius, located at Paradise Area famous for gay nightlife. Also easy to walk to beach ans shopping centers. The hotel has a sauna, swimming pool and a toproof for sunbathing. Thanks to all the staff from Aquarius.

A nice and pleasant stay.

Spent one night here. The fact is that the rate is inexpensive and you do get what you pay for. Room is comfortable. AC and water heating work very well. Staff are friendly and polite. Location is perfect. Can be a bit noisy after 12 am. It was not a big issue for me but just in case. Breakfast was basic but nice. Service was 2nd to none. And the sauna is small but everything worked well. Most importantly was meeting lovely lads there. It’s a pity that I was there for a one day but returning back in December, and very much looking forward to my visit. If you have a budget to manage for your accommodation whilst having added benefits I do recommend the place. Lee 🇮🇪🇵🇸🇸🇬🌈

Enjoyable time In Patong

Nice guesthouse, with very comfortable rooms. Bed is large and firm, which suited me. Staff are always polite and very helpful. Good location with 5 min walk to beach, and major shopping center. In the next street you have all the Gay clubs, so not far to walk home after a heavy night partying. This is my second time staying and cant wait to go back.

Had a nice stay at Aquarius

Aquarius Gay Guesthouse is situated at the Paradise Gay Area, so its very comfortable, no Taxi or Tuk-Tuk needed after you went out. The staff is very friendly and the food at the restaurant is good. The internet connection is good and fast. I had a problem in my room but was fixed at the spot so no complains. Hope to stay there soon again.

An overpriced guest house with unfriendly staff

Would like to express my concerns for this so called guest house. The guest house offers sauna ( really bad and filthy in shape, needs renovation) at a price. If you have booked online, they would charge extra for sauna. They offer breakfast but that's even not a buffet. It's a set breakfast with very limited quantity. The rooms are really small and not clean. Everything in the room is with a price tag to sell their minibar. Everything is priced 10 times then the market. The view from room is not worth a view. It's not worth sitting in the room balcony. Last but not least , if you have booked small room or a big room, it's not in the same building of sauna. It is a different building 100 metres away. The rooms are overpriced. They usually sell their small room without breakfast and without sauna for 1500 baht but you can look out nearby guesthouses at just 500 baht which are way better. One more thing, i have only seen old aged people in the hotel or sauna. No young guy prefers to stay there. They are a shame on the name of a gay hotel. The staff do not have any self respect. Probably the worst gay hotel in the world

On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and resourceful when you need help with something. Location is very central and could not be closer to the gay live in Phuket. Now on the down side, prepare yourself that the list is long. First, I think every gay person that like to stay in gay hotels or resorts know that we always have to pay a premium for staying in gay accommodation but normally you will get apart from the exclusivity you are rewarded with nice surroundings, Aquarius guesthouse lacks of any charm whatsoever is old and rundown, the furniture is old,dirty and falling apart! The decoration is old,broken and ridiculous,example (an old bottle with a plant seating in dirty water)The walls are dirty, ceilings are covered in spider webs and the sauna has seen better days with old broken chairs and gym machines decorating some dark dirty corners!!! One day we had heavy rain and water poured into the room from the joint between the wall and the window which we have to say the staff quickly came to clean when we call them. I know the management replies to this kind of complaints with the excuse this is a humble guesthouse and prices are low!! Firstly humble and rundown are Two different things !!!! Well we paid more than €500 for a week stay (including the €200 xtra we paid for an upgrade to a half decent room) and for that money in Phuket there are hundreds of others hotels and guesthouses with way way way more value for your money! As the management mentions in other comments we don’t hide behind a nickname I give you our booking reference (29581) and I’m more that happy to discuss with you my comments! I believe the management takes this kind of criticism as a personal attack but could not be more far away from the true, we support gay business, but as a customer we appreciated we are not taking for fools and I’m sorry but our stay was NOT worth €500. We even decided to leave a day earlier and although we lost our last night money at least we stay in lovely modern clean and cheaper hotel. Just to finish our review I will post pictures of all the details we mention above. I invite the owner to put yourself on our shoes and think, if you checked in in a hotel like this what would you think? This could be an amazing place to stay if money was invested and attention to details were taking into consideration instead of just fooling people for one off visit, and like us not planing to ever stay here again.…

Good location, Good food, Good service

We enjoyed our stay. Our room was on the 1st floor above reception and despite it being over the market lane outside it was very quiet. It is aptly named as a Guest House - the room we stayed in was reasonably small but had all the basic amentities we needed. Good bathroom, bed was comfortable and the housekeeping very good. Felt secure in the room and it had a safe for valuables. Meals were good - western style suite our needs (breakfast included in room cost). Unlimited Wifi in room cost was reliable. Staff were attentive and we were able to book sightseeing trips and pay on our hotel bill. Bar / restaurant opened onto the market lane and this added to the ambience; an excellent meal street cart cooked right outside late at night ...... loevly Thai lady Chef. The Sauna and Pool facilities were clean and we found the Jacuzzi and deck chairs on the roof and chilled out with the a local brew (normally Singha) in the moonlight at nights. The gym facilities were good. Only 5 minutes walk to Patong Street where all the general main action is but the Gay activities are just around the corner in the next lane from the Guesthouse. Plenty of Spa and male massage places in the lane and next lane down also. Aquarius is not a 5 star palace but Paul and his team do an excellent job making the stay enjoyable - we will be back. Airport to Aquarius was at least 30 minutes and cost us 800baht (pay by cash - ATMs at airport;) - if driver a bit lost (as ours was) ask them to drop you off at the main entrance of the Royal Paradise hotel - the lane for Aquarius is opposite that and about 30 metres on the right down to the Guest House entrance.…
