Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent two nights in this small but lovely hotel March 2020. It is clean, lovely friendly staff, excellent breakfast the best I have had in Thailand. Small pool on the roof very private and lovely place to sunbathe, close to lots of bars and Bangla Road also walking distance to the beach... definitely worth another visit, and I would highly recommed anyone to stay here.

Recommended. It's a nice family hotel. Clean and spacious room. Helpfull staffs. English channels on TV. They provide some books in english inside the room for reading. They change the bed linen every 4 days. Good location near restaurants, 7eleven, ATM, money exchange, BIG C, Jungceylon shopping, Banzaan Fresh Market and Bangla Boxing Stadium. They have some motorbikes to rent for 200b, 250b and 300baht. Not the best hotel from outside, but really good inside the rooms. Loudy noise from the street on Level 2, but they changed me to level 7 which was great and quiet. One day, the whole neighborhood including Alexander hotel lost all power for 8 hours, bad experience. But I stayed in 5 other hotels in this street, overall Alexander was the best one.

We stayed at 3 other hotels for 1 night before ended with Alexander Hotel Patong. The other 3 star hotels in Patong were appalling. After staying 1 night at Alexander Hotel Patong, we booked another 10 nights with them. This hotel is the friendliest, cleanest and located far enough from the crazy Bangla Road but, close to the beach and entertainment. We recommend staying here if you are in Patong beach. The price is great too.

Stayed here for only a night. Got a good, clean room in a great location. Great value. Close to Walking street and food market. No complaints. Met Alexander too and he was a nice man. Would stay here again.

We stayed in Room 702 of this hotel for 8 days, and we were quite disappointed with the experience we had. 1. Cleanliness: ● When we first went into the bathroom, we saw a lot of dust in the washing bowl, and it could be easily washed away by water, that made me believed that the cleaning lady did not clean or check the room before we moved in. ● There was no blanket or quilt on the bed at the first night we stayed, and we found a dirty blanket with stains in the closet. Since it was 4 a.m. in the morning and we were exhausted after our flight, we did not call the front desk and we just used that dirty blanket for the first night. ● The toilet in the bathroom SUCKS!!! We stayed for 8 days and it clogged for 3 times!!! At the first time, I defecated and threw toilet tissue in it, and it clogged. We were then told not to throw tissue in it. OK then, but at the second and third time, I just defecated and threw nothing in it, but it still clogged! ● The tissue in the bathroom is just terrible (See the attached photos)! How could they give this tissue roll to customers? 2. Services: ● I think the telephone in the room is a joke. We could not use it to call the front desk (Maybe it could, but no instruction in the room). ● There was a TV channel list in the room, but the sequence is totally not what we saw on the TV. That means we had to use the remote control and try every channel to find the specific channel we want to watch. ● The lock of the sliding door in the room malfunctioned, and we couldn’t lock it. ● The ladies in the front desk were not that cheerful. When the toilet clogged at the first time, we went down and told the lady (with glasses), and she just put on an unhappy face and blamed us for putting tissue in it (I think it’s quite normal to throw tissue in the toilet in most countries, right?). We didn’t want to make anyone unhappy so we didn’t argue with her and just apologized. ● The key card of our room malfunctioned for 3 times during our stay, but the card resume normal after the front desk lady reset it in her computer every time, and so I’m quite sure it’s the software problem. ● No hairdryer in the room. You have to ask the front desk to give you one. To be honest, I understand that the price of room in this hotel doesn’t cost too much and so I never expect any VIP or supreme services. However, the points I mentioned above are just normal and essential for any hotels.

Hotels rooms are very small but clean. The owner Dave and his front desk staff are very friendly and can point you in whatever direction you want to go. There is a girl just outside the hotel that you can book ferries, Muay Tai boxing fights etc. which is really helpful. Location is a 10 min walk from the party zone on Bangala Road, but is very close to the large market, Muay Tai Rings, and many good restaurants. We wanted to stay here again on our next trip but the nightly rate literally doubled from the same time last year.

I've spent a few times staying at the Alexander Hotel. It has very reasonable rates, the rooms are immaculately clean, and they have friendly and cheerful staff, that are more than willing to assist you, at any time. It is conveniently located within walking distance of shopping and all the night life. I will continue to patronize this establishment in the future.

I booked with the hotel months ago via agonda at a special rate offered. I booked and paid. Then confirmed details ECT directly with the hotel. Now months later I received an email stating they had cancelled my booking as it was a mistake. They did offer me the room at near double the original cost. This is a disgusting way to treat a paying customer. Agonda booked me into an alternative hotel and covered the additional cost no thanks to Alexander hotel. I would not reccomend anyone stay here your booking isn't safe as the next guest may pay more so they will cancel your booking. No mistake as it was confirmed directly with the hotel.
