Everything was very dated. Building itself quite old and you can see lack of investment in all areas for a very long time. Some newer lower rated resorts or hotels will provide a better experience. Staff and service below par.

Catering to primarily Thai travelers, this is a basic but reliable hotel, good value. While this is an older facility, it is well maintained and clean. Very good wifi, solid breakfast (though don't expect western food), centrally located. They also offer benefit to the community as they are one of the few places that accepts student interns from the area.... More

We were on the way and the Royal Diamond was our stop over on the way. New Year party was fantastic! Nice breakfast, nice room, nice staff and walking distance to the major attraction (the nearby palace accessible by cable car). Coming by car from Bangkok makes it very accessible. Nice parking too. Hm. Very 'handy'.

Having read other reviews of this place I was slightly anxious about what I would find, whether our things would be safe etc. I have to say this was largely unfounded, although this is a hotel that seriously overrates itself. The rooms are big and everything's clean, but they' very dated and the beds are hard even by Thai standards.... More

We stayed here for a couple of days and there really wasn't anything around. It is a very small place so you don't want to be here for. Long period of time. The room was fine but we are a couple and had to have a twin bed room as it "was all they had". The hotel was empty and... More

I stayed here with my familie and friends. We just needed a room for sleeping, as we were out and about for most of the day. However we did not get a lot of sleep at this hotel. It has an open air bar playing music until late in the evening, however this is not really a problem as the... More

Based on some prior Tripadvisor reviews I booked here for 2 nights in September. Upon check in, the rooms are horribly worn, smelly and dirty. This hotel is less than a 1 star. We never unpacked our bags and fortunately the Swiss Palazzo had rooms available for the night. I would rather sleep in the dirt than inside that room

The hotel is reasonably priced, but once again, it is an old established hotel in a small non-tourist town. The room itself is OK, clean and has the basic amenities. The bed quality is acceptable, but it is showing it's age. The restroom is not very nice. I think you can certainly find a better boutique or hostel type hotel,... More

In January I spent one night at the Royal Diamond Hotel and I had a very very bad experience:The staff at the reception was surely the worst I have ever met. They were unable to do anything for you, from calling a taxi or a tuck tuck to telling you any information about the train timetable. Moreover they spoke very little English.,But worst...
