I came to Phetchaburi to visit my son, who is working abroad. He suggested the Swiss Palazzo because he said it was the nicest in town. He was right! Lovely, new, western style rooms, with a delicious and appetizing breakfast. Thomas (the owner) is a true professional in the restaurant/hotel trade, and was a highlight of my stay in Phetchaburi. When I return, I will definitely stay here again!

We would never have expected to find a hotel like this in Phetchaburi, such a lovely surprise, nicely decorated clean bedrooms and bathrooms, really comfortable bed and best of all we never had to leave the hotel to eat as the food was excellent, Thomas the owner/chef has such a passion for food and it shows, nothing to much trouble, greeted with a welcome drink of home made herbal tea, very refreshing. Breakfast, as well as the cooked breakfast we had home made jams, bread etc, for lunch and dinner, small menu with good selection of dishes, all the ones that we tried were delicious and we tried most of them between us, home made pasta, pure tasting dishes presented well. The home made desserts and cakes, nice with afternoon tea are so good and of course a wonderful selection of home made ice creams. All the staff were lovely, they carried our cases to our rooms, we would stay again in this small friendly hotel, if you have problems with going up and down stairs, this place may not suit you as there is no lift, if you don't stay here or if the hotel is fully booked do try the restaurant it is well worth a visit.

After being promised a quiet room in a high floor with a comfortable balcony overlooking a beautiful monkey garden and reading trip advisor reviews, we arrived at this hotel with high expectations. Upon arrival we were required to transport our luggage up four flights of steep stairs unassisted. We were led out onto the balcony but instead of a beautiful monkey garden we were confronted with a festering, polluted and extremely smelly vacant rear block. We hastily retreated back into the room and shut he door only to find that the bathroom smelt almost as bad as the rear block. The hotel staff member reluctantly agreed to change rooms to the front of the hotel. The bathroom smelt marginally better but was still bad enough to warrant us purchasing drain cleaner from the nearby seven eleven. The street noise at the front of the hotel meant that we got very little sleep for the two nights. We are currently staying in a perfect four star resort (G Hua Hin Resort) in Hua Hin with all amenities for a lesser price than we paid for the Swiss Palazzo. P.S. We have successfully relied on trip advisor for many trips overseas in the last ten years but unfortunately in this instance the reviews did not match our experience. Phetchaburi is a small, attractive Thai town and well worth a visit. It has relatively few tourist amenities and we would recommend this destination as a day trip only.

Dear David and Linda, we are terrible sorry that you not enjoy the stay at our Hotel. As we talk together for a long time I'm surprised that you not told me any of this problems. WhenI asked you if everything is ok with the new room. I think it is more helpful to tell the Owner the problems directly. Usually we alway carry the luggage to the room. I cannot say why my staff did not do it when you arrived. Also it is a pity that you not find a single small good word for our place. even for the delicious home made jam's and the breakfast. Anyway my staff and me wishing you a very good rest of your holidays. Sincerely your Thomas Chef& Owner

Into our 4th week in Thailand. We have stayed in a variety of hotels the cheapest being the delightful Foresto Guesthome in Sukhothai and the most expensive the exquisite Asara villas and suites in Hua Hin. In every case we found a fridge in the room sometimes including a minibar but not always. Given the heat of Thailand we found this an invaluable facility. Unfortunately Swiss Palazzo does not have fridges. The owner has invested in flat screen TV's and iPod Docking stations instead.
On arrival we were given the malodorous room referred to by a previous contributor but the staff changed our room and the owner is attempting to address the problem. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful.
The rooms are clean if small with comfortable beds and good linen. Excellent wi-fi and a pleasant European breakfast of juice(carton not pressed), eggs, yoghurt, bread with very nice homemade jam and good expresso coffee. The restaurant offers European fare at European prices.
The location is good for visiting the town's excellent
sites and is very close to the railway station. Unfortunately it's situation offers the choice of a busy road to the front or an ugly derelict wasteland to the rear. At half the price I would have said it is reasonable value for money but unfortunately, I have to say that I am surprised at the glowing references from previous guests and have to express my disappointment. Far too expensive for what it offers

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Radnan, first at all thank you very much for your big review for our small Hotel. Thank you for the idea of a small fridge in the room and i think we will look forward to install them as you are already the 3rd Guest in one year who complain about that. Thank you also for the compliment to my staff, we are happy that they treat you nicely. Thank you also for the compliment for our special homemade Breakfast, we are sure it was the only place in your 4 weeks stay in Thailand where you get homemade Bread and Jam. The Orange Juice is a Tangerine Juice, pressed but from the box (no concentrate), so we are sure the quality is alway on top and not sour some days. Thank you for the compliments about our comfortable beds and good linen. We choose the best quality to give our guests a good sleep. All those things you gave us a compliment make also the price for our Rooms. We have had the choice of a cheep quality or a good quality. As there enough Rooms in the City starting from 250thb/night we chooses our style. It hurt me personally much that you called me here a swizzler after you smile into my face and shaked hands when i drop you off at the Van Station.! That very rude but we hope that all your other experiences in Thailand will be better that at our Place. Sincerely yours Thomas Kraus Chef & Owner

I am writing this review to show my real Thanx to the Swiss Pallazo hotel.

I had booked the hotel this weekend thinking that it was near sea area. When i reached there i realised that i had made a mistake. I requested the owner that if it was ok for me to cancel the hotel and book some other near beach

Not only she obliged me to cancel the booking, she helped me to book a good resort at a very decent price.

She has a nice small hotel with very clean rooms. The hotel Swiss Palazzo is situated in the center of the city with most attractions near by.

Will one day come and stay here.

Nice hotel with 4 rooms. Comfortable beds. Good value for money.
Decent breakfast prepared by the friendly owner.

Restaurant is closed, so if you want to have dinner in the neighborhood go to Mum Mum restaurant. Just behind the opposite square. The owner can tell you where it is. (Not on TripAdvisor yet, but you can find them on Facebook.

Good food, friendly people.

Very nice room facing the City Park. The owner Elle also runs the Hotel and was very hospitable and friendly. When we left she took us in her car to the bus station and bought our tickets for us. The food is great, full English breakfast and Italian dinner. Very high quality and reasonably priced. Stayed for 2 nights as we booked in early because of the ferry not being available from Pattaya. Rural Thailand with friendly helpful people. Would have like to have stayed longer.

We enjoyed everything! From the moment we arrived untill the last minute before we left. The GM is such a wonderfull, heart warming person! She will make your stay remarkable! The rooms are nice, spacious, clean and quiet. The breakfast is jummie and the dinner is great! We had happy tummies ;) The home made ice tea, bread, pasta, ice cream, jam and apple pie are breath taking. We booked for one night but extended with two more nights! We will definately come back any time soon!

Keep up the good work!

We have just left Swiss Palazzo after 2 nights and from start to finish it was excellent.

Elle, the manager met us on the platform at the station when we arrived and between then and when she dropped us off two days later the service she provided was first class.

The room we had was modern with great air con and Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed, TCMF and fridge plus IPod dock. We had a nice view over King Mongkut memorial park where we joined the locals for exercise at sunset.

As we had eaten eastern food for all our trip to date we decided to eat dinner at Swiss Palazzo and this too was excellent, as was breakfast. I will post a separate review for the restaurant.

Phetchaburi was a rewarding stop for us. The Phra Nakhon Khiri historic park was really good and made it worthwhile on its own.

Overall whilst the room was very comfortable and the food great, or was the service from Elle that made this a 5 star review.
