I travelled to Laoliang Island Report with my two daughters (8+11), and we had a great time. The girls spend a huge amount of time just lolling around in the sea. We kayaked to the next island and spent time snorkelling and basically watching the sun come and go, the tide rise and fall. It isn't luxurious - you're staying... More

If you want real peace and quiet on a tropical paradise look no further! It had some downsides like poor english from staff and basic fascilities...but this adds to the appeal too. Don't expect 5 star food and service. Do expect breathtaking scenery, perfect beach and an unforgettable stay!

Boring with lousy crowded island ? Here i found peacefully quiet staying with sea, sand. Fun activities such as climbing, snorkling, kayaking we also can do. More importantly, good food, nice& warm welcome from staff. If you can live with adequate, not so fancy facilities, then escape to stay with nature here. I'm sure this place will restore inside of... This place is such a gem. It is hidden, far away from all of the street markets, restaurants, and massage places. Complete silence. Absolute relaxed! Perfect place for two or three nights. If you are a climber, more. Climbing is perfect at this place, I've heard, from the ones that I talked to (I don't climb myself). Don't expect someone... More

I've never had such a spacious tent in my life - each of the smaller ones house two, with a sort of 'foyer' space between the mattress area and the exit. There's power supply and a fan inside, and an awning. Larger ones are "semi-detached", with two sleeping areas on either side of the "entrance foyer" - perfect for a... More

Your experience of this place will be all about attitude and expectations. You need to realize that although it's called a "resort", you are actually going camping on a very small and primitive desert Island. The power is on between 5 pm and 9 am. Roughly. The tests are alright, but it's enormously important that you do your best to... More

Just landed back from a 2 night stay on laoliang Island. Facilities on the island are basic but clean and the only accommodation are tents. The staff are lovely and friendly. The price includes 3 meals a day which are authentic Thai food and usually based on what the local fisherman has caught, they are cooked well and we enjoyed... More

Very relaxing and the photographs need to be "upgraded" For example the garbage is no longer there so this is a bad and misleading example. The beach and surrounds are beautiful, No noise at night apart from waves lapping. Food was very good. We were given a couple of large grilled Mantid shrimp with our dinner and had to send... More

Headed south in my car from Koh Samui with my fiance to Trang and Hat Pak Men Beach the first day. Headed to Hat Samran and took the long tail boat from there to Koh Lao liang the following day. A piece of a advice regarding to boat trip: Bring earplugs, the noise from the engine is beyond noisy! Of... More

Beautiful beach surrounded by beautiful rocks - also good for climbing if that's your thing. 40 or so tents spread out along beach. Choose one in front row for better view (cost extra). All inclusive with set breakfast (7.30-9), lunch (11.30-14) and dinner (18.30-20). Very simple, great for winding down. Kayaks for hire/loan, decent snorkling from beach, rudimentary bar with... “The island is more pleasant at lower 'occupancy', which is when we were there. I imagine at peak times it might not be as idyllic.”

“Front row is closer to beach. All tents are ok. There is a "VIP-tent" with extra good view (and a bit more space), front row tents close to the VIP tent also good.”
