Booked through love holidays came to £180 pp for all inclusive and flights and we could not have asked for better. The only downside was the food was very similar every night. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Reps come to the hotel and plan excursions with you and do not hassle you if you’re not interested. We had a double room with balcony and it was cleaned every day and the cleaner even folded any clothes that was out and put them neatly if we had left them out. We had An amazing trip and would definitely come back. Although if you have kids just a pre warning that smoking is allowed within the hotel but other people were respectful if kids are around and move away. But was great for us in the bar. Next time the new bar will be open which we’re very excited to see

Visited last week in August first week September, watch for overcharging on hotel tax, should be 14 dinar per person maximum regardless if staying for a week or indeed 6 months. Hotel is under staffed with regards to cleaners but the area around the pool is deep cleaned daily and the pool guy does a very good job too, loungers and mats are plentiful, pool opens 9am. Restaurant has good selection for me personally as i try to eat local food whenever i travel, no burgers, chips or pizza which i dont eat anyway. Only one bar which opens 10am, no problem with the bar staff filling my 1.5ltr thermal mug which keeps the beer nice and cold, saves multiple trips to the bar. The spirits are watered down as i found out on my last night when i asked for doubles of each without ice and mixer.spa treatments are great value, pedicure cost 40 dinar = £10 and i was pampered for over 2 hours. Animation team do a really great job always something different each night, the fire show was great to watch. Short walk to the beach, turn left once you get to the cantina and the beach walk will take you to the port and shopping centre hammam, 2 ltr bottles of gin was 40 dinar/£10.
The hotel does have cleaning issues in the communal areas, carpets in the hallways are grubby but hey you dont sleep there, room was clean with fresh linen when i arrived, cannot comment on the cleaners as i always hang the do not disturb on the door 1st night and never have room cleaned for the duration, aircon cold and permanently on, no need for tesco clubcard in the slot
I always got handful of napkins at dinner so had no real issue with loo roll like many seem to be moaning about.
Wifi in reception is poor at busy times, but im an early bird so was always in the lobby 5am and had no issues at this time.
Top tip, collect napkins at lunch, take a big thermal cup for drinks, if you get a spa treatment get the spa wifi password in with the deal, super connection in the bar area next to the spa, available 8am until 7pm when spa closes.
All in all, great value, much better than i expected from past reviews, @£580 for all inclusive, flights, luggage and transfers for 2 weeks in peak season i cannot grumble. Many ppl i met have been coming for years and i would return without hesitation, a holiday is what you make it.

So, we are not normally the sort of people that complain and always try to make the most of a holiday on all occasions and generally do a review for tips to help others to be able to enjoy their time away.
So,it saddens me to have to review this hotel in such a negative way, will post the tips and positive aspects first however small they may be!
Staff are very friendly, polite and helpful, entertainment staff are a great team and do well with the resources they have, there are afew activities in the day, and evening entertainment is around 9pm to 11pm, the foam

pool party is great fun!
Transfer is about 40 minutes, and is quick and easy. Hotel is a 15 minute walk to the to the harbour which is lovely in the evenings with various restaurants and bars. There is also a little open air Noddy train that runs from the Port
into Sousse, which is worth a trip on. The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the general beach is a 10 minute walk.

Hotel itself is dated, dull and in nees of repair and ra full refurbish, it definitely doesnt replica what it states on the website.
The biggest problem for us is the fact that the hotel has rented out previous hotel space (3 yrs ago) and has been made into openair niteclubs, you can visit these but have to pay for drinks, the music is played from 10am until 4am at such a loud volume you cannot hear yourself speak! If you are unlucky enough to get a room on top of these, you will get very little sleep! The music in the pool area is also loud to drown out the other music from the clubs so no catching up with sleep in the day either!
Wifi is awful, very limited just in reception area.No air con in dining room which makes it unbearable to enjoy any meal in there, food is ok but very repetitive with nothing for kids.
Pool area is small, there is only 1 pool and 1 kids pool, the slides advertised on website are not in use, we were told they were dangerous. The indoor pool is only open in winter and 3rd pool is now in niteclub. May have been a tennis court at some point but is now overgrown with weeds and grass. Also, areas and buildings not used are now left and neglected.
There is only 1 bar, very limited alcoholic drinks, which seem to run out very quickly.
Rooms are clean and basic, although the decor is old and parts are broken and dangerous.
There is a part of the beach that is for the hotel, and even though we were told by the rep that it was all inclusive, the only part you get are the free sunbeds, there is no food or drinks.
Seeing as the changes to the hotel have happened in the last 3 yrs, its a shame the website hasnt been updated to reflect that and yes you get what you pay for but it is unnaceptable to sell this holiday as its says on the website.

This Hotel was advertised as a four star hotel when it was booked. I went with my Daughter for an all inclusive holiday for a week. On arrival to our room it looked okay, pretty basic but definitly not a four star room. We pulled back the curtains to the balcony and the window was completely cracked all over. The television didn't work. The shower fitment was broken so you couldn't shower without holding it. The hair dryer didn't work. The phone didn't work. The room was advertised as having a mini fridge. There wasn't one! but you could apparently hire one only there were only about six in the whole building so that wasn't an option. All the drinks were served in paper coffee cups includng alcohol. By around ten o clock in the evening they had run out of either alcohol or mixers or both. Sparkling water was free but you had to pay for still bottled water for your room. No WI Fi lifts constantly not working. I could go on but it sounds like a witch hunt. But it is all absolutely true.Several people we met there had the same problems and some even worse. They rarely had any Tunisian Dinar to exchange for Engish pounds.

Unfortunately 0 stars in unavailable on Trip Advisor.

This hotel is sadly nothing like the photos suggested.
Maybe it's the time of year (November 1st) but, the Houria "Palace" is far from any kind of standard we've seen before, anywhere.

The room was unclean, the bath was rusty and a used toilet roll was wedged behind a pipe, presumably to stop the pipe rattling.

The noise from adjacent hotels was loud and lasted long into the night.

The whole hotel seems dated and not well looked after at all and the staff seem miserable and have seemingly given up on trying to improve the hotel.

There is a lot of damaged furniture with cigarette burns and rips in the foyer and the tables were not cleaned.
The lifts arehit and miss to the point where one guest was stuck in one for a short time and the staff don't seem to care about you at all.

We had to change rooms as ours was in such a bad state of repair, however the one we moved to was equally as bad.

The food is all tailored for the Tunisian people who holiday there. The restaurant opened at 18:30, by 18:40 when we arrived, there was no food left but there were plenty of guests with plates piled high.

There are plant pots in the public areas filled with cigarette ends and the pool was green with algae. According to some guests that were leaving, it had been like that for for a week.

The Joker bar we see on the photos on trip advisor and the hotels website is now a private club and does not belong to the Houria so the pool in the photos is out of bounds.
The slides are broken and the choice for drinks, even for someone who doesn't drink as lot is limited.

We ended up lasting a day. By half way through the first day after very little help from the Houria staff, we spoke to a rep who was incredibly helpful and moved us (with a little extra to be pay) to a far better hotel where we are currently enjoying the holiday we were supposed to have.
The rep advised us that we were the 5th couple that have been moved in week.

When we told the receptionist we were leaving, she was not surprised at all and happily returned our tourist tax payment.

The location of the hotel is great for the local shops and marina, but there is very little to do near by, although taxis are very regular.
If you want a nice getaway in November, this is not the place to go.

Please look at spending a little extra if you can for somewhere like Marhaba Beach hotel where your experience will be completely different to the one you'd get at Houria Palace.

This hotel is NOT even a 2 star hotel, it is overrated. We arrived in the afternoon after a long journey and we ask to have some food because we went on a All Inclusive. But we was told the restaurant is closed.

In an All Inclusive, you would expect at least snacks all day but they do not offer anything. They told us to purchase some food from outside. They have specific times when they open and close for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They dont have any food options, I was there for a week and they had the same food option all week, with only four options of food.

We had 3 rooms booked and all had problems. They were dirty, really old style, items not secured properly onto the walls, rusty bathroom, rusty pipes, really loose taps, doors were chipped, shower head holder was broken

Pillows were stained and bathroom. Arrived back to my room one night and find out that the whole room was FLOODED with water. They had engineer come round but didnt do nothing. We had to change rooms, didnt even mop the water.

Bar area was filled with beer bugs and flyies everywhere. They dont store the drinks in the fridge, always warm, even the beer. They only have 3 options of soft drinks, 2 beer options (if you want beer in the bottle theu charge you. They only give you half pint for free, not thr full pint, not many spirits)

The whole hotel smells like smoke everywhere you go because you can smoke anywhere in the hotel, inside, rooms, bar area, waiting area, seating area, ETC.

Every floor you go on, the carpets are all old and have stains on them.

You have tour guides that bother you in the morning and forces you to book with them, even if you told them you dont want to. Someone had a heated argument with him and ended up punching him. Even if the staff helps you with anything, they always want a tip.

NO WIFI in rooms, if you need to use WIFI, you have to sit in reception in order to use it. No one knows English and understands

Everywhere you go out, they always overcharges you

There is no entertainment for kids, they only put Music on at night. However, the Music is really loud and they carry on playing the music until the morning, which we couldnt get any sleep

They also have rented 4 buildings within the hotel, which are all bars with loud music playing throughout the night. Outsiders are allowed in the hotel at any time.

This hotel is not for Kids or any familes. No activities at all, nothing fun to do.

Totally avoid this hell hole. No hygiene anywhere in the hotel, dirty bedding, leaking toilet, food covered floors in the restaurant, even when 1st opened in the morning! The food was awful.
No snacks as part of the all inclusive package.
No fridge in the room as advertised or atm card machine, so was made to go to the nearest atm 1/2 a mile away to get cash to pay arrival tax when booking in at 4am!!
We got given dirty towels and when we questioned it the staff just laughed at us. One bed had no sheet on it for 2 days.
Blood stains everywhere, along with cigarette butts, even in our room.
Bedding wasn’t changed before our stay.
We witnessed an attempted child abduction by various gangs staying at the hotel.
There is a brothel within the hotel grounds, which use the whole of the top floor of the hotel for clients!!
The all inclusive bar is awful and very limited.
Carpets and flooring throughout the hotel are absolutely disgusting.
Unable to sleep due to the noise levels everywhere!
The list goes on and on.
This was our 1st holiday abroad for 15 years and will definitely not be going back.
We gave this hotel the benefit of the doubt when booking, but trust me, please avoid it to save disappointment.
This is barely a 1 star hotel at a push, but speaking to others that stayed, all they say is you get what you pay for!! Does £2500 not deserve more?
loveholidays, hang your heads in shame.

The main swimming pool has been taken over by the MYWAY club. They open most days and close the following day at 0200-0400 hours. On the off chance you're given a room "with pool view" take ear plugs, you will need them. The disconcerting part of this is that most travel agents don't tell you this. It's not part of AI, You have to pay in full for food and drink. As Mon hotel residents can use this facility they wander past the main gate and through reception to the entrance of the club (My way premier lounge). Nothing to stop them wandering into the bedroom areas. I have told my agent of the change to this hotel, so far no response. Back to what's left of the hotel. The staff are all very welcoming and will help you if they can. Look out for BOB he will give you a good deal on trips. The bar staff are great but don't disturb them until 10.00am. Be prepared for the late opening of the restaurant (during my 28 day stay it never opened at their specified time), which leads to a stampede type queue. The hotel itself needs a good\thorough spring clean. If you are not in a room overlooking the main pool do not accept one overlooking the main gate. This area has three establishments one of which closes, very noisily, at 0400. The advertising for this hotel should be taken to Trading Standards as for instance table tennis table is broken, mini golf I overgrown, tennis courts unplayable, indoor pool closed, anyway if you try it good luck it'll be an experience you won't foorget.

The bad reviews on this hotel really make me laugh. I come here all the time even though I have a lovely apartment just up the road near the beach. Had it a few years now and would never return to the UK why would I?

But anyway all you moaners need to get a life. Oh dear did your room not get cleaned? Heaven forbid do you clean your room at home every day? The staff here are amazing and earn less in a month than people in the UK earn in a few days. Grow up!!

Ok so sometimes they run out of drink...not surprising with the alcoholics who think they can spend less than 15 quid a day all inclusive and expect pornstar martinis and JD cokes all day. There is a shop up the road that sells alcohol but I suppose your bellies are so full you can't move anywhere.

If you don't like a hotel then move. You would do everyone a favour. Oh and at least put some deodorant on and change your clothes occasionally. Maybe the cleaners are sick of having to hold their noses when they enter your room.

I suppose tipping is out of the question with prices so high in the UK. Give the staff a few dinars you would be amazed how much better things get. Maybe it is against your principles to tip so if it is just stay at home.and spend some money on toothpaste and deodorant at least the bus driver won't throw up when you speak to him.

Hotel is brilliant the staff are friendly the animation team work their hearts out to make you happy. Location is amazing right near everything you need bars restaurants etc.

Keep up the great work Houria!!!!

While i was there they never ran out of drinks, drinks were round the clock, food was they never ran out but they were quite sharp with the time, so they would close bang on time. If u didn’t get to the restaurant within a certain time they would close the doors, but if ur already inside they would give u what u like. Hope this helps
