This was my second visit to this hotel. The staff are helpful and patient and although most of the visitors are families, as a single guest I did not feel out of place. Lovely quiet room with a balcony, sea view and good a/c (essential for an English visitor in the summer heat). It is only a short walk to the private beach, which is clean and well appointed. Just one small criticism: an English-language TV station would have been appreciated (only Turkish and German available).

We stayed here for just one night -4 adults and one 2 year old. The staff were friendly helpful and welcoming and the evening meal was excellent, beautifully cooked levrek. Half board for one night cost less than the fish would have been in a seaside restaurant.
Didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. Our room was clean and perfectly OK for a family seaside holiday.

Ayvalik is more typically Turkish, and is free from hordes of tourists. It is basically a fishing port- although not much fish was on the menu at the hotel. In December it was windswept and rather desolate, with many shops/restaurants closed. This hotel was the smallest we used on our tour, but it did have double beds, but no tea/coffee making facilities. The room was clean, and the food in the restaurant good, particularly at breakfast. The desserts for dinner were excellent. It was a good base for the trip to Troy and Pergammon. Ayvalik seafront was somewhat drab under the grey skies of December. The local market ( some way from this hotel) was visited by many of our group who found it varied and interesting. The hotel only has one small lift- it was a problem with just two tour groups, but would cause real problems in high season.

I just returned from a stay at the hotel Billurcu and only have great things to say about it. It is a medium sized Family oriented hotel with several different room options such as singles, doubles, triples and apartments that come with a kitchenette and living space. The hotel spaces are clean and comfortable and the staff is attentive and friendly. We never sat long at the pool or the lobby for someone to stop by ask us how we are doing and if there is anything we need. The hotel has several pools, some equipped with slides for children and adults. Next to the pool there was plenty of seating and lounge area and the pool side bar had cool drinks and small meals that were available throughout the day. The hotel buffet offers a wide variety of local and international dishes that are both delicious and visually pleasing. The hotel owner speaks German, English and Turkish and is a wealth of information regarding history, local events and places to visit and Tips for overall visit to Turkey. They can assist in Transfers to and from the airport, local tours, flight information and money exchange. The hotel is located within 2 hours of several historical sites and UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the ancient city of Troy, Pergamon and Ephesus. The hotel is happy to assist in booking tours for you. The hotel has handicap friendly rooms and pool accessories and is very accommodating to families with children. They offer high- chairs, cribs, toddler pool, small water slide, children’s beach toys and a playground on premises. They also have a game room with board games, fuss ball table and pool table. The hotel beach is located on 7 km of sand beach and has an attendant that will bring you a lounge chair and ask you if there is anything you need as soon as you arrive. He also cleans the area several times a day to make sure no garbage is left on the beach. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking to relax at the Aegean Sea-

When we arrived, the apartment was not prepared for guests, although the hotel knew about the check-in date - it was a big group from Serbia coming. We were "welcomed" with musty and moldy air, as obviously the apartment has not been aired for months. Rooms were cleaned and the bedclothes prepared, but the terrace, terrace table and chairs were very dusty and full of leaves. One of the bedrooms is without air conditioner. There was not a hairdryer. A fan in the bathroom didn't work, a hand-shower was broken, a tap was shaky, soup holders broken, lights above mirror and above beds in bedrooms broken.
Walls not painted recently and with occasionally peeled paint, paint on doors also peeled.

At the reception desk I have received the information that a hairdryer is not provided in apartments, only in hotel rooms. And that only one air conditioner per apartment is provided. Such information is not available on "Billurcu" web site, and agencies are not familiar with it. After the intervention, the hand-shower and lights were repaired. The rest - was not. And we have got the hairdryer.

On the beach - a new problem. At 7 pm, when it is the most beautiful and healthy time for exposing to the sun, a beach-boy comes with a scream "Aloooo!!! Finiiish!!!" and with this scream and furious hands motions forces people to move from beach loungers and hotel's part of the beach. When we turned to the hotel owner, there was another surprise: the owner was very impolite and rude and in this impolite and rude manner told us: that we have to move from hotel's beach and hotel's beach loungers at 7 pm; that it is the hotel's policy; on my observation that this information is not known to agency nor available on hotel's web site, he told me that he does not need to publish such information, that hotel is his, rules are his, organization of work is his, so if I don’t' move from the beach at 7pm, next morning I will not get the beach lounger. I have never experienced to be disrespected by the hotel staff or management, so this was a big surprise and disappointment for me. After that, I turned to our agent, he turned to local agent who tried to solve the problem, but the "Billurcu" manager did not change his mind - the guest shall leave his beach at 7pm and free the beach and the beach loungers.

The hotel declines any responsibility for values if not put in the safe box. But, unlike other hotels, the safe box is for rent - 1 euro per day. Ironic, isn't it? Looks like blackmail.

Guests can not bring water into the rooms. They must drink the water in the mini bars, which cost 500% more then water in the store. So, I paid the HB, but this obviously does not include that I can drink water - even during meals you have to BUY water. Is water a drink? A luxury? Or a basic human need? Charging water is the same as if you have been charged for food, although you have paid for HB. Or as you have been charged for using the water for shower.
Unlike breakfast, which is really excellent, dinner is very, very poor. Although dinner is from 7.30 to 9.00 pm, at 8.30 the main meal is already missing. Fish was only twice on menu during 20 days of our stay. Piece of meet - once.

Hotel management behaves more like prison guardians, always watching guests behavior and never paying attention on their owns. They are rude and impolite, not cooperative and more interested to control guests then to provide nice time to people who stay in their hotel and who paid for that.

I strongly recommend to anyone not to go in "Billurcu" hotel. I certainly will note. Ever.

We are sorry that we could not satisfield your wishes in our Hotel, but please be honest and fair. Your terrace was facing the garden and pool area, leaves are not dirt, but anyway sorry for this, but all lights in all your rooms were working. We also gave you a hairdryer and offered you a to change your room. Concerning our prices for water and other drinks we have very reasonable prices 1,5 liter water costs 2 TL (80 cents, 0,8 Euro).

My family had a terrible experience. We rented an apartment for my family of five. Our worst problem was the water heater. Over the course of five hours we had to complain that the water heater was not working. They initially ignored us until we went down a second time to the office. They sent some one to "fix". Several office visits and repair attempts later they acknowledged that the water heater was broken. We then had to request to the use of another shower. The beach is not a private beach but a public one. Music was blaring throughout the night. A system that they strictly enforced was that as soon as you left the room all power and air conditioning was turned off. So one of us had to stay around until the place cooled. The apartments reminded me of Soviet style architecture. In an apartment stocked with dishes and refrigerator (which contained moldy food) the hotel had a posted policy that you were not allowed to eat in your room - if you did they said they would charge you the price of a meal that you did not eat. The pool closed very early. Though booking states family of five only four towels provided. For a relatively unspectacular place the rates were high. This was to be a treat for my family and it was by far the worst of the six properties we stayed at in Turkey. Wi-fi only available in the extraordinarily mosquito infested lobby. The staff was pleasant enough and repairman was apologetic enough though the front desk staff made feel I was a nuisance. Breakfast was nice.

We stayed in this hotel for 10 days.It was a lovely hotel but full of germans because the owner of the hotel is married to german woman. However this is clean and very big hotel with large pool area.Near the pool area you can enjoy in table tennis or billiards.Food was ok but always the same.Hotel is 20 minutes away from the center of the city and 5 minutes away from the beach. When we arrived we got a very small room and we wanted to change it.The Staff was very rude and they didn't help us at all so we stayed in that room by the end of our holiday. But the waiters at the pool area are very kind and helpful.Prices in the bar on the pool are very , very high.Coffee is about 1,5 euros and water is about 2 euros. We recomend Zafer cafe with very pollite waiters and low prices.Generally speaking it was a nice place to stay but with a several complaints that are noted above. But it is always a good holiday when you go with a person you are in love with.
